Off the top of your head, gut instinct?
Can I just say, I love the images...
well laid out... easy to jump in and start using off the start... but despite all the disclaimers I'd be worried about potential California law suits!
heh heh yeah....
It's fairly straight forward to use.
I've been looking for something like this for a while.... I haven't found google searches for health issues to be very effective
"Hey that's funny!"
I spent 2 minutes trying to discover some interesting deseases![]()
More seriously, I think in country like Australia it can be a good tool, in France you just go to see a doctor because it's not gonna cost you a penny
I also think people are too busy to go to the doctor. Self diagnosis is on the rise! Nice to see the essential disclaimers. As long as you have a good team of lawyers helping you with wording - great stuff!
Great tool, I can definitely see myself using this however the results just needs to be more refined. eg more common diseases first or something
Did a search from "numbess hands" got completely random results.
Overall, quite easy to use. I really like the fact that you can just click on a body part and get a list of symptoms, saves you from having to figure out how best to describe stuff.
Since the whole page didn't fit into my browser screen, I didn't know what happened when i clicked on a pop-up menu item (later i saw it inserted the text into the search field).
The other thing was i couldn't find information about who supplied all the medical data...is it a medical repository, a bunch of doctors in san jose, etc. Just wanted some reassurance that the medical information on the site is credible.
Mmm. That is essential isn't it? I was wondering that to and also asked the same question. Maybe have a sound bite on the home page providing that info - fostering confidence etc...
Really easy to use and great pictures! Site does a nice job of helping you articulate what you're feeling / plagued with. But, I agree that the results page needs to be refined. Sort of looks jumbled right now and it's a lot to read; really have to dig through to find a result that might be a fit. It's also not clear where the info is being pulled from...is it credible?
Yeah, I agree... This type of info needs to show that its reliable
Sorry about not responding sooner... Just been really busy working on the latest release....
As for the result page... we totally agree... lots of info.... any suggestions as to what is really relevant for you and what should be kept to mouseovers etc?
Also, all the data has been entered by physicians. We do are best to make sure things are as accurate as possible... would a message above the results to this effect be helpful?
Yeah, I suppose.... Or make it obvious that the articles are from reputable journals etc..
When's the new release due?
There are two parts.... one which is the symptom search... the other is the web search.... we try to choose better sources such as the cdc, nih, webmd... etc... For the symptom search.. all the data has been entered by physicians....
There's one new release now![]()
... small releases over the next 2-3 weeks, and the next big release is at the end of the months...
Oh cool!
I'll have a look tomorrow and let you know my thoughts![]()
thanks...![]()
I like the user interface. I believe there is a real need for this on the Web. I get the feeling that under the hood this is a glorified-specific search engine hoping to pay it's bills via Google Ads. As for privacy, researching ANY personal medical info on the Web is paramount. Although Medgle.com has a privacy statement, three sentences does not a privacy statement make:
We respect the right to privacy of all visitors to the http://www.medgle.com web site. We do not collect information that would personally identify you. However, we encourage suggestions for additional content or notification of possible errors.
That was my [instinctive] first impression.
Well my first impression was that this is exactly like WebMD. Everything is very similar from what I can see, can you tell me what makes MEDgle better than WebMD?
1. Instead of just getting a list of results, with MEDgle the results are presented in a descending order of likelyhood. Also, the information about each search result includes the general prevalence and common symptoms to help you understand the result better.
2. Lot easier to enter multiple symptoms
3. Level of personalization (smoking, overweight) is a great deal higher, and these can significantly impact the order of results.
In a couple of weeks we hope be launching some more stuff.
Also, if you have any ideas/suggestions on how we can be better, or what features would be very helpful/cool .... please do comment.![]()
