Mrs Dent serves up a pretty mean tiramisu.  The portion is so mean that it's hardly worth eating.  I'm sure she's caught some anti-eating disease or is on another one of her health drive/diets or something.

For my part, my 'speciality' is banoffee pie, I have probably mentioned this at some point before, but seeing as we're talking about sweet stuff it bears repeating.

I've never really been a pudding person.  I always go straight to the cheese and biscuits, especially seriously strong cheddar, the type that is so strong that it makes your teeth itch and gums retract.  Lovely on an oat crackers with a glass or three of decent port.

I used to like the old Gorgonzola..

My dad has similar taste in cheese. Had some of said strong cheddar in the house a while back, it was good stuff, nice cheese 'n all, but only if you ate it in small-ish quantities - trying to eat a large amount at once would probably be classified as attempted suicide.

That's why you have the port with it.  You savour the flavour of the cheese and then commit it to the digestive system with a sip of port.

What really annoys me are the ads for KFC.... I go through the whole day without seeing one, then as soon as 10pm comes around (the time when KFC shuts here) I see dozens... I tend to eat dinner rather late though, around 8ish, so when I'm on my way home, there's no point stopping in at 5 or 6 because it just feels like a late lunch to me.. and I know I'll get hungry later if I eat that early..

There's a maccas and a kfc near railway square that are open 24 hours.. unfortunately the food there is also 24 hours old... but yeah, I'd like to go to a place like that, that's really open 24 hours... and not just crappy takeaway places and pizza/kebab joints, I mean places where restuarants are open until three, retail stores until midnight (or at least 8 or 9)

Yeah. i remember one night my best friend and I stood there for a couple of hours asking cars that drove by if we could give them cash to buy us food. Nobody was willing, and we were a little bit drunk, so eventually we just stood near the speaker box and as people drove through, we would just add items to their order.
Them: "Hi, can I get a Big Mac and some fries please"
Us: "And a cheeseburger. And an apple pie. And a sundae. And Some nuggets."
Them: "No, just the Big Mac and fries"

A security guard came to remove us, and we actually knew the guard quite well, so he let us in his car, we got our food, and he dropped us home. We did finally get to eat, only 3 hours after we started...

i never understood why they just didn't serve us. We would have been much less bothersome..

I've seen brownie cheesecake... or was that cookie cheesecake... one or the other, it was awesome. Italian food place near my mum's made it. Thinking about it, that one was definitely cookie (and cream) cheesecake - had oreo bits on the top. But then it mysteriously disappeared from their menu and there was great sadness in the SK

They replaced it with a "toffee waffle" cheesecake, which wasn't bad, but it just wasn't the same. Then time passed and I don't know when exactly but the place closed. Which was a shame 'cause they also made a damn fine four cheese pizza.

and some would beg to differ (summary: making food quickly doesn't make it unhealthy, a Big Mac is actually fairly decent nutritionally so long as you don't eat 3 of them every day and Morgan Spurlock is a freak o' nature and when his MacDonalds binge was replicated and repeated under sciencey conditions the effects were much less dramatic)

Oh! You just reminded me that I have a bottle of kahlua in the cupboard! Yay!

And speaking of desserts that involve alcohol, I make a lovely pavlova-style-dessert-thing which involves a cookie-style base (like that of cheescakes) which has been mixed with caramel and baked, then a layer of beaten egg whites, topped whith fresh, lightly whipped cream that has been 'infused' with a delicate mix of baileys irish cream liqueur and a swirl of kahlua, all finished off with a sprinkling of slivered almonds and macadamia nuts on top. (Sometimes chocolate shavings too!)

YUM!

I also sometimes add a dusting of either cinnamon, chocolate or nutmeg. 'tis good
