What are some of your favorite movies growing up (5-17)?  I was rather "sheltered" as a girl, and so find there are alot of movies that I "missed" growing up.. Plus, I love "new to me" movies.

Hmmmm... let's see.... favorite movies growing up....

Not that you'd want to run out and rent these movies but they do stand out to me when thinking back...

Wizard of Oz (of course! This was a favorite while growing up! Though it wasn't from the 70s... but still....)

Jaws (the lines at the cinema went around the block!)

The Poseiden Adventure (lines around the block again!)

The Sting (*sigh* Robert Redford + Paul Newman = hot!)

Carrie (such a scandalous movie back then!)

    Halloween (scary a la 70s!) :O

Love Story  (chimi sings: *Where do I begin.... to tell the story of how ladeladela....*    Don't throw tomatoes... I'll stop)

    Blazing SaddlesXP

Saturday Night Fever (My Mom dragged me to disco dancin' classes a couple of weeks later! *rolls eyes* You just don't do that to a teenager! I wanted to die!)

So, I'm thinking Gracey, that what you want to know, maybe, is what old movies we recommend... more than the ones we remember from childhood, right?

Ooo I remember one ! What about History of the World Part 1 !! Classic:) Oh and Monty Pyhtons Holy Grail

Carrie was a defining moment in my life....

Chimi.. maybe anything pre-1992.. lol.. which is when i was old enough to decide for myself what movies were approriate for me to watch, hehe.  Up to that point, my mother was very picky about what movies my sister and I were allowed to watch... So, there are many movies that some consider "must see" that I have never seen... Duke is sometimes blown away by how "sheltered" I actually was.. lol.

I recently saw Road Warrior, all the James Bonds,  and Beyond the Thunderdome:P

Duke has a list of movies "for Gracey to watch"... might as well add to that list as I can;)
