and ideas when N-Gage will launch for the N82 and N95 8GB?
Good question, and some full games free with some phones would be quite a bundle
N-Gage First Access (a sort of pre-beta release) was released as an N81 exclusive, however, the sis file got repacked immediately by a few enterprising individuals to work with (in theory) all N-Series devices. It has only been tested with the N95, though. Get full info here: http://www.symbian-guru.com/welcome/2008/02/ngage-launches-for-n81-owners.html

I was going to say that but I was afraid people would consider me a disrespect to the developer's society, something called cracker
i dont think thats legal ![]()
this is not a crack. it's simply a repack of something that anyway will be available for the other NSeries handsets. the reason why they chose only the n81 for now has to do with them marketing it as a gaming device and the fact that it's not a polished app yet (user base being smaller if only n81 users are concerned).
i am not for cracking. and i don't think p@sco and ricky (where i got my info from) are either.
however, if you don't want to try it, it's really your choice. it's not an official release for other handsets yet.
i hope that clears my position on all this. and btw, i was only trying to help. i have no idea when an official version will be announced for other handsets.
I tried it lol. I actually agree with you when you say it's not a crack. I just didn't post as I thought other people have a mentality other than yours. It's really unfair that just for marketing, the N95 and other users aren't gifted with the full NGage platform, but again, everything revolves around money
exactly. i hope people don't ge the wrong impression. cracking involves not paying the developers for their hard work, something i do not agree with. however this is and will be free (the app i mean, not the games), so...and the games are downloaded OTA anyway and paid for then.
Don't we wish free games...atleast the asphalt urban
lol...drooling...(i am thinking coupled with nokmote or the upcoming rock'n'scroll)
I never cracked an application and i'll never do it![]()
I just was curious to know if it was possible to run ngage on n95, so i tried to unpack the ORIGINAL file, and it works with no problem, i also bought some games, and no problem at all.![]()
thanks for explaining to everyone p@sco. maybe i didn't find the right words, but what i was trying to explain was the same as you.
yes mate i understood you![]()
i read a lot about ngage compatibility after i discovered how to install it on all devices, and is not so funny to read that i'm a cracker, because i always bought all my softwares, often from nokia site, so i'm surely not a guy who "stole" the other's work![]()
hey, i didn't say you were a cracker. i responded to the guys who said "it's not legal", etc. by stating that i do not believe you would associate your name with such practices (i mentioned you since i read about this first on your blog). am a great fan of your themes, btw. (and your Symbian Certified Themes project).
so keep up the good work!
Hey p@sco, nice to see you here. And I hope you also understood that I didn't call you a cracker, in fact, I admire your work
yes mates, i'm surely not angry with you, i know we are speaking friendly here![]()
unfortunately, my "Certified Themes Project" has not been so lucky, i think some people did not understand it properly, it's for quality themes and for share knowloedge about how to make them, but i receive many mails on "why do you want to judge themes" or similar...![]()
yeah the ngage app on my n95 works fine, and i ended up buying creatures of the deep as it was pretty addictive
but nokia have somehow managed to block the showroom in the ngage app, which means we(n95 users) cant browse and download any additional games until its officially released![]()
so far its pretty good though, very well implemented. and buying games is soo easy, a few clicks (and dollars short) and you have it! bravo to nokia for making it really intuitive![]()
unpacking the ngage file - well justified, p@sco. i think n95 users have been waiting too long for the ngage, and its quite a bummer to find out that n81 users get to try it first. i guess they did have their reasons for doing that though..
