I keep forgetting to check how much it costs to buy a guild house. Does anyone know? Should we be starting a fund?

I wouldn't think there is a difference between a guild house and a normal house (???)  Just the ownership is shared?

lotro-wiki says differently.  There are personal houses (small to large) and kinship houses.  It mentions that personal houses range from 1g to about 8g.  It doesn't mention how much kinship houses cost.

I think they started around 10g, just from talking to a couple of housing vendors.  I could be misremembering, but there was a significant difference between the individual and the guild houses.

I just checked the prices in the Bree homesteads. The cheapest was 14g 250s + 285s/week upkeep; the most expensive was 16g 250s + 345s/week upkeep. For reference, my house goes for 1g + 50s/week upkeep. So to get a guild hall, we'd be looking at ponying up 2..3g each to start + somewhere around 60s/week.

might take a while to save up that kind of cash

Probably, but at least we know what the numbers are now. Camile is back up to 1.5g (after buying her horse), so she'll probably be able to contribute her seed money in a month or so. I don't think we should worry too much about *when* it happens, just keep the goal in mind.

For those who aren't yet aware, the guild reached guild rank 6 last night so we now have guild auction (whatever that is).  We get guild housing at level 7 which will take a month.  As McQ said, we have some time to save up for it.

Guild auctions are auctions (entered through the normal auction house) that are constrained such that only members of the guild can bid on them. I don't think this is an amazingly useful tool for a guild as small as ours, but you never know.
