has Omnidrive thouht about offring this to a small business? i have about 250 employes and i am looking for an affordably way to have us all on a single drive many folders and indivedule logs ins with differnt folder permissions.
Hey Garrett, we sure have been - and we will have an SMB specific version out once our 1.0 release is out. It will let you setup shared drives, quotas, default permissions, integrate authentication and a whole lot more. If you want me to email you when it is out, or if you would like to beta test it for us, email me on nik@omnidrive.com
I'd actually be really interested in this as well. Not sure yet if it is the path I need to go down, but definitely one that I am exploring. Beta involvement would give me an opportunity to trial some ideas, so if you are looking for testers, then I'd be keen.
Quick background - I'm working on the release version of our platform at the moment, which is primarily Wordpress MU, Gallery and Pligg based. Site hosting is currently with Media Temple and I am actually more than happy with this, but media hosting is something I am still investigating.
sounds cool Richard, send me an email on nik@omnidrive.com and ill add you to the list, we will be able to either upgrade an existing account or send you a fresh new account to try out
I'm trying Omindrive for Individuals since a while. I'm working in an small company and we need a way to share file and folders using diferent levels of permission for user and roles. I'm very interested in beta test Omnidrive 1.0 if it will provide these features. When do you plan to release version 1.0?
I looked at a variety of tools for my small business and started using Omnidrive but then I found out about Tubes (TubesNow.com) which has the ability to give individuals different access levels and permissions. We are happy with is so far although edits are not done online....you change files locally and the chsnges get sent to all group members.
DPG : wouldn't not by any chance have any interest in this Tubes company? One can wonder considering the number of your posts containing exactly the same advice...
I do not find it very elegant, even while Omnidrive does not always deliver an high quality support and I did move away myself.
Sending ...
