Hi Omnidrivers,
We're thinking of taking up Omnidrive for use in a web development project we're about to start. I was just hoping that someone might be able to point me in the direction of other sites that might be using the omnidrive api? We just want to see that other people are having some success with it.
There's a link on the developer homepage to something called Pubfile, but the link is broken. not much good.
Roughly, we're going to be doing some image gallery stuff. Kind of like flickr but obviously not to that scale. We'd love to see another website using the omnidrive api to do something remotely similar, but anything right now would be good.
Thanks for any help,
Dan.
As an aside, we've had a lot of trouble getting presales support from omnidrive. no email responses and the australian office number hasn't been answered in two days. The US office number doesn't connect. I'm not really sure to think about any of that.
Hey Dan, thanks for giving our API a spin. We are doing a lot of work on the API right now because we have a great deal of interest from potential partners. As far as I know nothing has been released yet but I can confirm that some large web2.0 companies are working with it. We are working with Tangler for example on... an image gallery so I am sure we can help you.
Shortly we will be releasing a javascript toolkit that will make working with our API very very simple. This has come out of a process working with partners. Its a simple framewrok from which you can easily build out your application.
My apologies for the lack of email response. We are moving offices in Australia at the moment. We don't actually offer phone support at this time so please stick to email and Tangler so that we can support you best.
Hi phil,
how can i get hold of the API documentation? I was up there (after a hiatus) but the API page doesnt actually point to the documentation..

Sri
Hey Sri - glad you're back!![]()
We are working on documentation 2.0 at the moment plus, I suspect you will find the javascript toolkit will be the best documentation of all. I'll post to this forum and the blog when it is out.
no probs phil... good to be back... cant wait to see the new API (and especially the resumed uploads and downloads!)
Thanks for getting back to me Phil. You dont have anything more specific you can point me towards do you? There is a bit of sell-in involved here.
I'm sure everything you've said so far is right, but it's just a bit scary embarking on a development project using a tool that we have no idea of it's working or not. We'd really like to minimise our risk.
cheers all,
Hey Dan - Check out our integration with Zoho and Snipshot for example. Use the Omnidrive web client (web.omnidrive.com) to try it. YOu can create and edit word docs and images using these services using our API.
For first hand experience, ask Sri (a member of this forum). He has been developing a linux filesystem using the Omidrive API that is really cool.
Other announcements in the coming weeks and months.
