I set up my account today and had no problem using the Mac client at work on an iMac. Now am home on a G4 laptop and am getting this message: "An error has occurred while attempting to establish a connection. This field is not set." -- Ideas?
PS. I can use the web client fine, and I have reinstalled the Mac client once already.
Ok, I have lots of problem on my G4 laptop (Powerbook)
IT's running on G4 with OX 10.3.9, and I use FireFox. I'm still on free account - want to try out before committing to it.
Problems #1: I tried and tried to install the OmniDrive for Mac. It said install completed; however all I have in my application folder is this file called "Omnidrive 0.1.2 Release Notes.rtfd" -- there's no Mac client or anything like that (I did a search and there are bunch of associated plug-in files in the Library folder, but no application).
Problem #2: I've tried it on the PC at work and it's fine - but on my G4 laptop, the "+Add a file" link is not working at all. Is there a Mac/FireFox issue?
Camino works fine for me -- it's the Mac client that's having the problem.
Hey - there is a greatly improved Mac client (v0.8) close to release. There is a known issue with OS X 10.3 that will be fixed in that version.
My problem is happening on 10.4.10. I hope the new client either fixes the problem or provides some more informative error messages... ("This field is not set"?!).
PS. How close is close?
I am also getting synchronise errors on the cllient on my work computer. And not much help in the forum here, or from my email to support. I am this close to trashing Omnidrive for another service.
Check out this chart: Omnidrive kills it, except for those blank customer service boxes: http://www.flickr.com/photo_zoom.gne?id=93730415&size=o
I would like to know if there is an error log somewhere I can look at. The errors fly past, overwriting each other, so it is difficult to see what the problems are.
One of the error messages that flashes past is something about an invalid folder location. I would be nice to know what the constraints are on folder names, in case I have violated them.
Basically the current Mac client is completely unusable. I will use the web interface until the new version comes out, in which I really hope these problems can be fixed.
Hi etc. I am very sorry for your problems. We are working on getting Omnidrive for Mac up to speed with our other clients.
Here is an untested internal build of the latest Mac version (0.8): http://www.omnidrive.com/tryme/omnidrive-install-osx10.3-osx10.4.dmg. It includes an installer for OSX 10.3 and OSX 10.4. We are still working on a problem with OSX 10.3 that is holding up the release but it may be worth you trying the 10.4 version. There are quite a few bugs fixed in this one so let me know how it goes.
Thanks for the reply Phil -- still no luck with this client, I just get the uninformative message: "An error has occurred while attempting to establish a connection."
Are there error logs I can send to someone?
Hey etc - I'll ask one of the developers to help you.
Hey etc,
Can you please send me the crash log which is available here "/Users/<your-user-name>/Library/Logs/CrashReporter" to my email address (jugs@omnidrive.com)
Thanks
Jugs
Omnidrive isn't actually crashing, it just isn't working.
I have ceased using OmniDrive until a working Mac client appears.
I'm also waiting for a new Mac client, because the actual version isn't working.
Is there anybody out there??? When will a new macclient arrive? I am reading: "all technical problems resolved" harharhar...
Hellllloooohooooooo????
me too!

I haven't had those problems with the latest version I downloaded 2 days ago. However nowhere was I told that the software had to synchronize a local folder with the online version.
"Why is it copying stuff from Omnidrive?" I thought. I wanted to upload stuff to it. And maybe download by dragging-and-dropping. Can it do that?
As for the +Add a file link, I was using Firefox and the link works if you click in just the right spot... it's very small...
And the menu bar is too close to the "Upload a file" button. I keep accidentally invoking the menus.
Which version number are you talking about?
0.12 is not working. I've tried it again and agin and again...
and 0.8 is far away...
