We use Omnidrive for storing and accessing our client and transaction files from multiple computeres, away from the office, and for long term storage. But, not being able to access them 1/2 hour before a closing and 1/2 the files not uploading correctly. Has caused us to seek storage in other places.
My question to you guys is:
Do you know any other sites that offer similar services, reliably?
Thank you
I had an account with Omnidrive for less than a day before they were down for entire day. Their reliability and service is horrible. I jumped to box.net, which is working well so far. I've read good things about them, and I don't know of any reliability issues. For regular backups, I use Mozy for personal and work. Mozy is pretty sweet as a backup mechanism, but they don't have the online file access like box.net or omnidrive. I wish someone would build a better platform on top of Amazon S3. I think that would be extremely cost effective and useful for consumers.
Thanks for the pointer Drazick... I'll have a look to see if it will satisfy my needs.
Anybody else got alternatives?
http://www.steekr.com/ is pretty good as well (but I am just starting for 4 days).
I agree, after paying for extra capacity I am less than happy with the service. Will try the others mentioned here.
I have an Omnidrive account but have had a lot of problems lately. I just got Tubes (TubesNow.com) and it seems great so far.
Drivehq is superb. Maybe a little more expensive than some at $7.99 per month for 6GB of storage and 20GB download limit but it works a treat. Very configurable client software with extremely easy and intuitive interface.
I do think something is terribly wrong with "Omnidrive".
They used to be active here, in their blog and have a new version every month.
We haven't heard from them for months.
They even let this thread grow!!!
I've been using Jungle disk for a month now, I'm really happy with it. It's backed by Amazon S3, which will make you want to cry with joy when you get the bill. My account is up to $1.40 for around 7Gb of storage, I think it is about 10c a Gb per month.
