hey everyone. as you may or may not know, we integrate with a stack of products - from zoho through to snipshots for image editing, then our own apps for managing archives (zip, rar, etc.). Are there any apps that you would like to see integrated? We are putting together a new settings panel that will allow you to select which type of files get opened with which apps, so we will eventually get to having whole heap of apps integrated and leaving you the choice of which apps you can use. So, what apps should we integrate with now? What would you like to use with your Omnidrive files and content - we will be working on building some widgets, and also some plugins for the common blog platforms - what do you all think?

not sure if this is the topic, but regarding your API, do you guys support gzip and zlib encoding??  this may speed up file transfers thats all...   i havent checked the packet captures yet, so if you already do, apologies for the redundant posting...

hey we sure do, I don't think we go into detail in the API docs but if you use the standard Accept: headers it will respond accordingly (with gzip). we use it throughout our web interface. we need to add a lot more to the docs that we have added recently, such as the ability to download whole folders as a zip file, or to unzip archives or create archives server-side

How about tracking file changes with Particls Notifications:)

    2007-04-20 23:08:23.0

    hey Chris - not bad

    2007-04-22 23:55:37.0

    we can try that

    2007-04-22 23:55:40.0

I need to grab the latest particls

    2007-04-22 23:55:46.0

Chris - Wouldn't that simply require Omnidrive publishing an RSS feed of file changes?

    2007-05-08 20:51:38.0

Phil - yep that's right - also they could become an 'Intouch partner' which would allow them to provide a branded version of Particls for their users

    2007-05-08 20:52:53.0

sort of like the Omnidrive Notifier

    2007-05-08 20:52:59.0

They could make it so when they click to track an omnidrive folder/drive particls automatically includes the feed from that folder/drive on installation as well (or if it is already installed, just adds it to the feed reader)

    2007-05-08 20:53:39.0

Why do you ask phil? Something we should know?

    2007-05-08 20:57:20.0

    :)

    2007-05-08 20:57:23.0

    What have you heard?:)

    2007-05-08 21:09:14.0

I can't tell you - or I'd have to kill you

    2007-05-08 21:25:06.0

:) Sorry Chris, was directing that one at Marty. he's teasing me because I am working on Omnidrive now:)

    2007-05-08 21:25:48.0

    Congrats:)

    2007-05-08 21:26:13.0

I like the integration idea with Particls - I was also thinking about integrations the other way round - like storing people's APML file on their omnidrive so it can be shared with other services as needed.

    2007-05-08 21:27:08.0

Sure that sounds like a great idea

    2007-05-08 21:27:47.0

We have a Broker API we are working on  - not sure how how it will work with the Omnidrive API - maybe we can make a wrapper for it

    2007-05-08 21:28:53.0

    Coool - now we're talkin

    2007-05-08 21:29:54.0

we just made a SubscriptionPlugin for the newly announced Amazon RSS feeds - took 2 seconds

    2007-05-08 21:30:41.0

do you guys have a soft API for users to get an RSS feed of their account activity

    2007-05-08 21:30:57.0

we can make a SubscriptionPlugin where they put in their Omnidrive Un/pw and Particls does the rest - with a little bit of XML

    2007-05-08 21:31:23.0

I'll have to look into that Chris - I'm just the new guy!:) But I know RSS for folders is coming back soon after a brief holiday... I'll have a play with your subscription plugins and see what I can do.
