Hi Chris ...
Congrats on your work thus far ...
A couple of things ...
1) When I click show me less on this topic the post still cycles through my ticker ...
2) I added my opml and now it only shows posts from one RSS feed often repeating entries ...
3) Is there a way I can get an RSS feed or when page of what Particls thinks I am interested in as having a ticker is quite distracting ...
I booted to Vista to try Particls ... when will the Linux version be out![]()
BTW I am in Brisbane too but originally from San Fran.
GioSico,
If you turn on the "pebbles" output adapter, then all of your important items (depending on your settings) will go into a special RSS feed. From there you can load that into a feed reader, or do whatever you want with it.
To find your RSS address, open Particls, go to advanced, under "Outputs & Interruptions" choose "Pebbles" It'll give you a link to your feed.
Particls Team,
Are there any plans to release the pebbles output in other flavors? (Atom) Personally, I have made it a goal to choose valid Atom 1.0 over RSS whenever I'm subscribing to a feed that offers both formats. I suppose I could always convert it, but if I was going to be using an Interest Stream(*) I would prefer it to be in Atom.
*: Is this the right term for a stream of events from various sources that I might be interested in based on some algorithm?
Hi Guys - will answer the other questions - but to answer the question of what the official name might be for an incoming stream of items - we have proposed the name AudientStream from this post: http://www.particls.com/blog/2007/05/life-after-pageviews-proposing.html
@GioSisco -
1) you raise a good point here - we should drop the item - good idea!
2) is it still only doing one feed for you?
3) Duck answered this question very well!
Okay, I remember reading that post a little while back and remembered you defined an AttentStream (which this is not) but forgot about the AudientStream. (Which is a much better name for this concept)
Its working for multiple streams now. Cheers.
Great to hear
Sending ...
