Hey guys - we are looking for an ad partner for Particls to provide our ads inventory - but in the mean time, I thought we could give back to the startup community and offer some free ad space.
Please suggest ads for Particls using the following format:
Headline: A quick sharp message to get attention (less than 60 caracters)
Body: A synopsis of what the product or service is (less than 500 characters)
Hyperlink: where would you like us to link to?
We can't promise to include everyone - but try to make your ad interesting, funny, useful and cool! Please don't hate us if your ad does not get included!
Thanks!
Twitter to Tangler in ten seconds!@
Haha
As it should be
Great idea Chris. Sweet.

Hmmm, longer synopsis after lunch...
ok![]()
yup, right with you. You know me - I'm always short for words!
It's ok - I'm just short
Headline: Scientology doesn't believe in calculus!
Body: No, we're not making this up. It's true! Hear it from L Ron Hubbard himself!

Headline: Can you really make money fromMLM businesses?
Body: You actually have better odds of making a profit if you are a gambler than working in a multi-level marketing (MLM) business such as Amway.

Headline: Discover your toilet potential!
Body: Which 'Human Potential' course founder started out by selling franchises for toilet-cleaning routes that didn't exist?

Headline: Banned Landmark Education documentary
Body: Banned from Google Video and YouTube, see the France 3 documentary that forced Landmark Education to leave France.

If you get stuck for variety and want something different I can put something together for you Chris. Due to the fact that we're holding back design and functionality in preparation for launch, I can't really take advantage of the traffic or expect any real conversions, but hey, any publicity is good publicity, even if you aren't ready for it
Let me know. I'm expecting you'll get a hell of a lot of attention with this, and be oversubscribed anyway. Good luck with it.
I've found that without having ads in place and demonstrated metrics it's difficult to sign up an ad provider, so you're definitely heading in the right direction. Hope it goes well. Particls is a natural fit for a tie-in to a provider - you might just have trouble finding one forward thinking enough. I've been very disappointed with the lack of vision
so far...
Indeed, most people in business still can't see beyond next week. (sigh)
Thanks for that Richard
I know how it is to have something else cooking that you can't wait to release![]()
Spread the word if you can - need the other tangler tester CEOs to join in
Have you been in touch with Clay and Rachel yet? They've just put out Refurber, and would most likely be jumping at opportunities at the moment...
They are twitter friends so should have probably seen the tweet - I'm sure Marty and Mick will let them know also
The editor of Anthill is a Tangler as well - might be something different if you're looking for a cross-section.
Actually another good one would be Nick Matina of ChatStat. He's so eager to advertise that he was actually accused of spamming
I like his enthusiasm, and he looks to have what is developing into a good product.
Mr Phil of Omnidrive? Richard Giles of Scouta?
Paul Ryan - that was it - the editor of Anthill. Had a blank there for a second
Kickass magazine by the way...
How do any of us get any work done when we are on Tangler all the time? ![]()
Marty/Mick can you get a hold of those people about this topic/thread?
Notice you haven't posted in the CEO groups yet. Is that because you're worried it'll come across as spam? If so I can post for you referring the idea...
Considering the groups is about supporting each other, you'd assume there would be some level of interest or participation come from it.
Yeah I dont want to spam it around really - Just an open offer ![]()
CEO groups -- private?
Chris, this is David Scott Lewis. Let's give this a try:
Headline: R&D and Engineering Services Outsourcing at China's MIT
Body:
Startech Global, the outsourcing hub for Tsinghua University (China's MIT), can help staff firms with the best talent in China and at Tier 2 city prices, much lower than average personnel costs in Beijing or Shanghai. Using a Build-Operate-Transfer model, Startech helps Western enterprises establish a “China Development Center” (CDC) focused on R&D, engineering services & software development. Startech also helps with China market entry and with a myriad of government incentive programs.

BTW, Particls got a great reception during my demo last week at the Qingdao Business Leaders forum. Mostly exec type newbies who don't want to learn another TLA (three letter acronym), i.e., "RSS." I showed the audience (nearly 70) how to get going with keywords and phrases, and then how to rate the words as well as how to rate the sources that are automatically added. When I showed Google Reader and Bloglines, someone mumbled that they'd be perfectly happy with Particls and couldn't see the need (or have the time) for reading a bunch of blogs. Winner: Particls.
@TheWebGuy - Thanks for that - sounds fantastic![]()
Something tells me the web guy will get his ad in for sure. ![]()
Haha well Andrew - maybe it's time to join the conference circuit
Chris that's awesome to hear that from thewebguy about the demo he performed.
I know - very nice![]()
