This twitter window keeps popping up since I've installed Touchstone

Does it have anything to do with Touchstone? If so, how do I shut it up? 

Dekrazee - I think it might - let me look into it asap for you. For now you can turn this off by turning off 'automatically get info for me'. I belive it is trying to subscribe to the Twitter API for you as part of our new Auto-Subscribe feature - but it needs login details. Get back to you asap

Lemme tell you something funny....

I loaded this topic, and wasn't paying attention... tried my darned best to close the darn thing. Wasn't working, then I realised I didn't have Touchstone running, so maybe it wasn't linked to Touchstone, so then I looked under all programs to see if I could shut it, didn't find Twitter in the All Programs menu etc etc....

Getting increasingly frustrated until I realised I was trying to click on the pic that I myself had posted....

It's gonna be one of those days

How come when I 'X' out an article (and it fades away), these articles keep re-appearing? Is there a way to permanently remove the articles so that new articles will come in?

the article may be from different sources as once yuo 'x' it out it shouldnt come back again

Sumikael - 'x'ing the article is supposed to have not appear again. If it is re-appearing then, as Stephen suggests, it may be because it is from a different source. Also some feeds are very bad at not providing the right information for us to detect duplicates - we try to handle this as much as possible but some feeds will just not co-operate

If I X an article from the ticker, does that mean that I'll never see the news source again? Or does it just delete that item? Or does it delete all items of that keyword? 

It just delete's that item

it does not vote against it in any way either

Yeah man Nooo Problem!

I finally figured out how Tangler works, haha. I would see the notifier in my systray, but when I clicked it, it just took me to the tangler website.. I was expecting it to take me to the currently active discussion, and could never figure out what the notifier was alerting me to since it wasn't ever taking me anywhere specific each time I clicked it. But anyways, here I am. Finally.

Hmm... mine seems to be doing that now, but it wasn't a few days ago or last week. It used to take me to some page with a video about tangler.

That happens when you click on the notifier icon itself... And that page is your home page

I was just curious how does the ticker sort the feeds that are comming in? I was wondering, since i added my gmail to particls, if I could adjust the ticker or pebbles to notify me instantly when i get mail, other was it sort of is ineffective =(

Saiyanz - the best way to make sure your gmail pops up - go into the advanced tab, Rate you sources, and rate the gmail source up to "Strongly Like" - this will help it get alerted more often. 

I have it set at that maybe if i tone all the others down a little, im gonna mess around a bit with it but thanks for info

just make sure you have it set to strongly like, and have pop ups turned on, otherwise you will only see it on the ticker

Okay, silly question time -

How do i stop particles from launching when I start up my comp? I looked around, but couldn't find how to do it, altho I have stopped it before

When u exit the app - there is a dialogue box that pops up asking if it should start automatically on windows startup

It's also in the settings and skins tab as an option

The box doesn't show when I exit cos I turned it off the last time

I got this weird error for particls it was working just fine but now it says a Root element is missing anyone know what happened i think i am gonna uninstall then reinstall but yeah just wondering if someone could tell me what the error is and how it happened

So i uninstalled and reinstalled particls and i get the same error =X anyone know how to fix this?

If you delete your user.cfg file it should never happen again with the latest build - fingers crossed

make sure particls is not running when u delete it of course

allrighty, deleted the user.cfg and it didn't work. So i decided to delete the apml files too and then it worked. Thanks for feedback glad this is working again
