It's open to the world now, you can get to it here;
LOL. Interesting name...
Who is your target audience?
Yes, very interesting name. Phart! It's different! We're still not sure if the target will like it.
The goal is to create something for people who aren't professionals but who take great photos. It's for your very best ones. Put your pics on Facebook or flickr - your snaps. And put your photographic art (Phart) on http://www.phartgallery.com/
"Wow, that picture is so good you should up it up on Ph.Art Gallery!"
Hmmm... that's interesting...
I find that my good shots get drowned out in Flickr, and I tend to have to find other ways to draw attention to them... Phart could be promising... Will have a look at it this evening
Initially we were Photo Art Gallery, then Photographers Art Gallery and then having registered 50 related domains and canvassing a few hundred of our primary target audience ( Serious Amateurs, Enthusiasts and Semi Pro's) we happily settled on our nick name Ph.Art Gallery as it stands for all of those things.
Industry leaders we have met with like Canon, Nikon, Sony etc are all relaxed with it and think it has great recall,branding and marketing potential so thats all good. Some more conservative "Arts" and "Pros" have an issue with it but we think if they use the offering they will find it speaks for itself...without any foul odours as it were. ![]()
By creating a hirearchy of Galleries, a commission sharing arrangement that allows Photogra[hers to earn more for good Metadata AND introducing a curation process into the equation we think we will go along way to dealing with the Image "junk yard" feeling that many seem to associate with Flickr and others these days.
We look forward to more feedback from members and guests as we work to tweak the offer over coming months and years.
Just a note that they've changed their URL to
New video from Phart;
LOL
It's quite funny, and even slightly factual! I know I've made a fool of myself plenty of times trying to get the perfect shot
