i realize that most of you are not american and couldn't care less about this.........and it's probably not even true............but OMFG!!!!! there is a chance that brett favre will return to football.
i can't contain myself. he is the reason i love football, and was seriously considering not even following the sport any more.

i have such mixed feelings. the packers are doing the right thing, they have moved on and it wouldn't be fair to the new quarterback, who has been training and prepared to play.
but, brett favre is a green bay packer. i cannot imagine him playing for anyone else.
If he does play for the other team, it'll be weird for a while, but you'll get used to it in a game or two
i suppose.
i would rather have him back playing for another team than not at all.
one of the great things about him, was that he was such a one-team guy.

he'd been talking about it for a few years. he was getting older and had had some pretty bad injuries. if he had won another superbowl he probably would have done it sooner.
but, i thought (and i don't think i'm the only one) that he was a brilliant quarterback until the end. it was a beautiful thing to watch him play.
and i am not a big sports person.

well, it looks like it's happened......brett's back in football....but he's been traded to the ny jets.
i'm not yet sure how i feel about it......i'm very happy to get the chance to watch him play again.......
but even as a new yorker.....i've never been a jets fan...

i've never been a huge football fan at all........when i was about 12 or 13, i went to visit my grandparents and met a guy....he was 21, gee, it seems so inappropriate now for us to have been friends, but we were.....he became like a penpal.....he originally worked for the philadelphia 76'ers (basketball), then he tried out for the philadelphia eagles (football) and eventually ended up working for them.he used to send me all sorts of eagles stuff....like stickers and pens......so i became an eagles fan.......learned a little about the game, but not too much..,
.....until brett favre.......by this time i had a decent understanding of the game, but i wasn't until i moved to wisconsin and met a lot of hard core packers fans, that i grew to like the game and love brett favre. ....he is so amazing at what he does and it's a beautiful thing to watch..
so what it comes down to is that brett favre will be playing football again......and that is really what is important to me (although i did like the packers as a team).......i will even be willing to watch and root for the jets........
i'm just sad that he left green bay on not so great terms.........his entire career, until now, had been with green bay......and he brought back a team that had been one of the original great teams......

and it might be possible to get jets tickets.........virtually impossible to get tickets to see the packers.....season tickets are handed down to the next generation.....

no....it's not....well, it is, but it's a unique situation.........the packers are non-profit and community owned.....apparently the only such major league sports team in the u.s.....and they are the 3rd oldest football franchise in the u.s.....they won the first two super bowls

well....favre played his first game with the jets today......
he did really well.....although they lost....but not by much....
considering that he was having a bit of a rough time during the week....his arm was "fatigued"...everyone seems happy with how he played....
i didn't get to see the game, but it's still only preseason.....i hope to have a few chances....

they now televise the games under their own rules, which basically means however they profit the most.
it's almost impossible to see a game outside of the cities involved......unless you pay for the nfl channels. which are expensive........or go to a sports bar....which is an inappropriate place to bring a child..
i was hoping that our satellite television connection includes nfl......but so far i haven't been able to figure it out....

my boy is back!
he didn't play very well last week.......so of course people were talking shit about him....
but he's back....yesterday he threw 6 touchdown passes.....a career high......tying joe namath's team record
and they beat arizona (haha) 56-35.....(for those who don't know american football.......this was a high scoring game)
