Hey there

Previewlink version 0.1 is available, it can be downloaded from the homepage.  It's hosted at Mozilla addons, but it's in the sandbox, so it can't be viewed publically without an account. After I get some reviews (good or bad) I can submit the addon to reviewers to get it promoted to the main page.

It's not really what I expected from the name. What output does it give when browsing?

Nothing that you'll really notice. It'll change any links to short url sites (ie tinyurl) to redirect through previewlink.org. When you click on it, you'll be sent there to preview the link instead of to tinyurl.

What were you expecting? It could still be added into the next version.

Why would I want to preview tinyURLs with your service? Any specific reason? Do you block inappropriate and malicious stuff?

It doesn't block anything, it just gives you the final destination, although a blacklist idea sounds good. You could use Tinyurl's preview service as well, which is also what this uses, but it also checks every url-shortening service (although Tinyurl is clearly the largest).

I'm hoping to add a few more features that would make it more useful than both Tinyurls preview feature, and a few userscripts that do something similar.
