thought it would be interesting to setup a Mozilla Prism Group here on Tangler and wrap it as a Prism app, which I just did by embedding this topic on a page at my server.  Unfortunately, I cannot login to it from Prism since it handles external domain by launching Firefox.... So I cannot get cookie/session setup within Prism unless I embed the tangler.com group instead, which I will try now.

Unfortunately, it appears the Tangler's SSL Server Certificate does not allow or is misconfigured to allow authentication via Prism webapp.  Maybe Tangler can look into this issue with USERTRUST Network (usertrust.com) or it could be a bug in Prism.

I love this. This would be huge for both Tangler and Prism if this app could get working quickly. I'll be sure to talk with some of the Tangler developers about this project. Thanks for starting it!

nice, glad you are interested.  i'll try to do some research into the auth issue later today as well.  I pinged marty and some others from tangler to join this group when i set it up so hopefully some discussions will start.

I am going to post a screengrab of tangler on Safari browser which has given me an SSL Warning when trying to login.  I am able to bypass this of course but it seems that Prism just doesnt allow the bypassing of invalid certificates.... So I am assuming that the problem can be fixed from your end.

Hey sull, could the SSL issue be related to a domain name mismatch (i.e. accessing tangler.com rather than http://www.tangler.com)?

I haven't had the chance to delve too much into Prism's setup, so excuse me if you've eliminated that already as a potential cause.

I noticed when I just manually opened the URL from prism to http://www.tangler.com it worked fine.

Yes, I was able to login from within the prism app. I just run prism standalone and then enter http://www.tangler.com into the URL. I saved that shortcut and now it remembers the cookie and autologs me in.

ah yes, looks like i can now login from prism as well.  great.  did you guys mod your ssl cert or was this just a fluke?

We've haven't made any mods to our SSL cert, though we did double check that all tangler.com urls get rewritten to http://www.tangler.com, which could have fixed the problem.
