I've heard that the Yak Bar on little Collins St is good. 

Degraves on Degraves Lane is good - near Flinders St station. Is that anywhere near where you will be? That's all I can think of as I have only visited Melbourne and live in Sydney! 

Yep, second that with Degraves, it's my favourite breakfast joint. If you head toward the city into centre place, there alley is littered with fantastic, small cafes. Heres the gmap
