The time to save updates is always a little laggy, and the upper board sees more traffic so making it smaller would be a plus......

Firefox has always taken up too much memory, but to my understanding FF3 is an improvement over FF2...

I love me some Firefox too, but it does have a tendency to eat up a lot of RAM
Right now... 116MB of memory being used to display 6 tabs. Seems excessive... although the window has been open quite a while, so it may have accumulated over time.
I just cleaned out 63 tabs at 521MB + a restart to keep 31 tabs at 191MB. I don't worry though, RAM is cheap and I have 2GB to spare.

Tabs hogs/whores never fail to surprise me... I couldn't handle that many tabs open all the time
i can't generally do more than 3 or 4....but....one of my addons is taboo.....which will save any tabs i'm interested in for later........so i don't have to keep them open indefinitely.....

The number of people now on the board was making it a little slow to update the posts with new points, so I redistributed it over 3 posts to make it more evenly spread. You now need 5 points to be on the top board, anything less than that but more than one goes on the middle board, and those with only one point to their name are on the lowest rung of the point-ladder...
Ohhh.... I keep changing from the top to the middle... just when I think I'm getting somewhere, I'm not...

You're still in the same ranking/position on the board as a whole, the division into 3 sections is purely arbitrary (I just want to keep any one section from being so large that an edit takes ages to be submitted because of all the rest of the section is being resubmitted along with it)

If the latter, what kind of funding do you have? Cambridge is a good place to study, and unless you've got a big chip on your shoulder, I'd say that if you've got what it takes (and if you've got an offer with funding that means that someone already thinks you do), it presents a great opportunity, and you should grab it. Also, you will find you'll be among an intellectually outstanding peer group, and you'll find your social niche. drdec: No, I was saying that Morgan's position hasn't changed for a long time. I have an offer from Churchill to study Computer Science as an undergrad... don't think there's any special funding beyond the normal student finance stuff. Trying to decide basically between that and Warwick Uni, which I wasn't expecting to really be a decision, but Warwick had a really good vibe to the place, which I didn't get so much at Cambridge... countering that, the people would be smarter and the eventual degree more prestigious at Cambridge, so I don't know whether to discount the somewhat poor vibe when I went for interview as a fluke (or as being because they were all busy interviewing people), or whether I really would like it better at Warwick... I wouldn't have expected a good vibe from the old established traditional uni Well, SK, Computing at Cambridge certainly has a fine tradition and is the basis of many hi-tech spin-offs (the Cambridge area is known as Silicon Fen). It's fair to say I have a strong connection to the department. The Computer Laboratory (aka Faculty of Computer Science and Technology) just obtained the highest ranking of any Computer Science and Informatics UK university department in the national research assessment exercise, with a GPA of 3.35 out of 4.00. This also gave it the equal highest GPA for any academic department at the University of Cambridge. The Computer Science department at Warwick is not bad - they were ranked 34th, with a GPA of 2.75 out of 4.00. This is what I would be looking at (as well as perhaps the Teaching Assessment Exercise results) if I were at your stage, comparing institutions where I might go.
