What's missing and why?
Fall
Spring
May
March
_____
does the riddle have to do with the letters of the words or with the meanings?
Way too early for a Q&A session
but i'm a riddle novice and i'm in between classes.......
...so...although my brain should be in top form.....it's not.
how about this......is there just one thing (word or something else) missing.....or several things?
Summer is missing... all other seasons are represented in some way
how is winter represented?
March is a Winter month
oh yeah.....i was born then.....![]()
i should just go back to the jokes forum.........i suck at riddles....
Keep trying bluegirl, it is not solved yet
March is Spring...
Dec/Jan/Feb = Winter
Mar/Apr/May = Spring
Jun/Jul/Aug = Summer
Sep/Oct/Nov = Autumn
That's the way I've always heard it...
although it would invert for people on the opposite side of the equator
Summer, Winter and April are all missing
April is the only Spring month not covered
All the months beginning with J are missing
December is the only month ending with "-er" that's not covered.
part of march is in winter......trust me.....my birthdays always involved snow......i can count on one hand the times that i had birthdays without (provided i was living someplace that had snow)..
march comes in like a lion and goes out like a lamb....
i could be completely wrong.....and it could be face value....but i keep thinking of the words themselves.....
fall down....spring up...
may (can....allowed)......march (to war.....or somewhere......)
i'm just not sure what to do with this....that's why i was trying to ask some questions before i was shot down...
ack....i'm probably over analyzing.....
July. Out of the seasons and months, it's the only other one with just one vowel.
that's good.
I'll tell ya what's missing - 's
That would make - Fall Spring's May March
*sits back with a grin*
that's good too
Some good stuff here but not what I was looking for
July- The fourth of July
November- the fifth of november (remember rememeber the fifth of november, gunpowder treason and plot)
Summer is missing therefore as well, as Fall and Spring are represented (assuming march is considered a spring month else winter as well.
(following the line of thought that there is an ides of march (march 15) and a Cinco de Mayo (May 5)) could be missing--- they are holidays that are named by the day they happen on
I think I know why these are in the list... just can't figure out which word is missing...
All of these words have a second meaning:
Fall: Don't fall down.
Spring: Springs are bouncy.
May: Yes, you may.
March: The army hates marching.
also, they're all verbs
I thought so too, but also cant think of the missing one.
It's something that we're going to feel stupid about not figuring out.
probably.
drdec......can you at least tell me which direction i'm facing could be the right one?
August: marked by majestic dignity or grandeur
credit to dictionary.com if thats it
dammit.
i don't get it......
I think we'll have to go 1/2 point each since DJ got the why and uwhguy got the what.
@bluegirl - they are all parts of a year which are also words (which have nothing to do with being a part of the year)
so what's the answer?
August completes the list of parts of the year which are also words
i suck at riddles......![]()
