gnaaah!   why wont the postgresql ruby gem go?

we're on mysql, but you tried the other driver? 

A faster, native driver called “postgres” is also available. It can be installed with the command:

gem install postgres

And in the next few days will be trying out the jabber and xmpp gems to see how well we can quickly integrate our rails app with jabber schtuff.....
