I think that what might have been lost sight of is the fact that England only got better AFTER South Africa beat the crap out of them. That was England's spur to The Final.
I don't see that England are going to say after their recovery - "Well that's that's then, back to (South African) business as usual" - and give the game away. If you compare games, then going on the performances - and just about everyone, except England, really did expect, if we are honest - that England should have been bundled out by Australia.
It's easy to forget, from our armchairs - because it was all that time ago - but it was only two weeks back.
