This System of a Down song always makes me think about Sookie and Eric, especially her with all her conflicted feelings.  Serj's voice is perfect for this song, with it's kind of shattered quality making it that much more poingnant.  And SoaD just rocks.

I was just at an Oscar party, and a few of us took turns performing some songs from movies past during the commercial breaks.  While practicing this one I tried to come up with an emotional connection that would work for me, and my SVM obsessed brain whispered "what about Eric and Sookie?"  I was surprised that it actually fit really well.  I imagined it as Sookie thinking about their relationship when she wakes up the day after Bill and Quinn fight and Eric comes to her house in DAG.  Of course a couple of the lines don't really fit, but I fudged them:  "I've had so many men before", well, obviously she hasn't but I understood it as she has seen and "read" so many men, been inside their minds, she has a lot of experience in that way.  Also "So calm, so cool, no lover's fool" I took as her pre-Bill, and also how she would really like to be, in control.  I apologize in advance to any Andrew Lloyd Webber and/or musical haters, but it felt so right when I sang it I thought I'd share.

I was working out today and listening to my ipod and had on some SWEDISH pop music. Not sure if anyone has heard of Bosson on here but he's known for his single "one in a milliion" on the movie Ms. Congeniality starring Sandra Bullock. His voice is kind of feminine but he's got some great music I thought that worked well for Sookieverse. I didn't work out too long but I was able to pick out 3 songs that I thought were very spot on.

Me again. I'm going through a music phase. I'm still stuck on the Swedish. I was listening to the album last night from Sweden's Idol winner last year. His name is Erik Gronwall. The kid looks like he can be Alex's little brother, all blonde and blue eyed. Anyways, one of his popular songs is a cover of Eurovision's 2009 second place song winner from Iceland by singer Yohanna called "Is it True?". Eurovision is europe's idol like contest so it's huge outside of the U.S. I think this song is really pretty and done well by both singers but is probably more appropriate for Eric's view done by Gronwall. I feel like it correlates well with how Eric feels when he's frustrated with Sookie and trying to find out more of what happened between them while he was cursed. Assuming he's heard about them being a pair from the supe grapevine, and having smelled the "coupling" all over her house.

Judy, I've known and loved the song "Decode" since it first came out but I was never able to completely think of Sookie when hearing it because I always thought of Twilight. Funny, because when I first heard it I said this song doesn't make any sense for Twilight, if anything it makes more sense when refering to Eclipse.

But after you posted the lyrics and I was able to read them out while thinking of Sookie, I totally see the connection! This song is so much better for SVM! Nearly all the lines are just perfect, esp. "My thoughts you can't decode," how Eric is always saying he wishes he knew what Sookie was thinking.

Thanks Sami. I've been trying to work out and had my ipod on shuffle mode and decode popped up yesterday. The first part reminded me of Sookie instead of Bella right away.  I also never thought the words went with Twilight so well but I loved it as soon as I heard it too.

Well this has been my favorite song ever since I first heard it. After reading DAG, I immediately thought of this song because it rings true to Eric's pain (at least to me)
when Eric says "You're killing me". Sookie's anger and accusation could have caused him to have felt extreme guilt and pain for not being the one to save her. And who knows what it was he was doing while she was being tortured but knowing him, it was probably something to help her.
Yet after everything he's done for her, showed her, and tried to tell her how much he cherishes her, it's not enough for Sookie. She just doesn't see
how special she is to him and it was like a slap in his face when she says "It's not like you were obliged to come find me".

When the fighting is over and Eric has a single tear while looking at Clancy's
body.  I didn't see it as him grieving for Clancy as some readers may have. I think that he was feeling Sookie's overwhelming
sadness and his own pain for her loss. He probably couldn't look at her while she was looking at Bill and crying over him.

This is kind of funny. I was just bored and updating my ipod with different songs and randomly I decided to search for eric in my music library and voila! There's one called Eric's Song by a singer named Vienna Teng. Considering how my itunes library is about 100 gigs large, I completely forgot about this singer. She' writes music like poetry so it can be a bit verbose but the first few verses are pretty spot on for Sookie and Eric.

Judy, I have heard that song before, its very pretty. It can be a little too wordy depending on whether thats your preference or not. But I really love those first 2 verses!

Sami. This wasn't my favorite Vienna Teng song when I first bought the album after seeing her on David Letterman back in 2003. She performed Gravity and I had to go buy her album right away. I used to skip over this song because it seemed too long. LOL.  Now I really like Eric's song, because of the title and how poetic it is!
Also, someone made an Eric and Sookie video using this song. It's been edited, not too well because the music jumps here and there but there are parts that are really nice.

I recently re-read some Eric parts and the DTTW shower was one of them. I laughed so hard the first time at Sookie's reaction to "Mr. Happy" when he wasn't even standing that close. It still makes me giggle like a school girl.

All this sex talk has me thinking about Sookie separating Amnesiac Eric with Real Eric. With her relationship to Amnesiac Eric ending so quickly, she never had a chance to say goodbye and pined for him when she wanted to spend time with someone she cared about. At the same time, she was fighting her physical attraction to Eric. She would waver between giving in and pushing him away. I think she has been "unconsciously" waiting for her A.E to come back to her.

This is another power ballad by diva/songwriter Lara Fabian. She's been compared to Celine Dion but I don't see them on the same level. Lara is a trained lyrical soprano and uses more than just her voice to express emotion in her music. If you want a good cry session, check out Lara's Broken Vow. Also, Celine's voice tends to be scratchier than I like and she doesn't write her own music, although I have a healthy respect for her ability to hit those notes. Well, I feel completely out of the loop!  I've never heard of this woman before.  Is she French or from Quebec like Celine?  I adore Albinoni's Adagio - one of my classical emo faves!  It's great she put lyrics to it.  Does she write music as well?  She has a great voice, but I'd like to hear her do more to get the full scope.  I have to say that although I have never really liked her material, I think Celine Dion has an incredible voice.  I like how she can mix a little raunch into her sound - she can kind of do anything.  KD Lang is amazing like that, too.  Now I have to try to find more Lara Fabian!  I want to know what else she does...

Lara's Caruso is one of my favorites! Celine has done it but not as good. I'll let you be the judge though.
