Oh man, cannot wait!
hope she saves Eric, and the ghost of Godric there should be something, and why is there no more blood? too many questions and too much time til we'll have he answer
It's not the ghost of Godric.
I was just wondering, do you think Bill tried to cement Eric too?? So that he & Sookie can have a HEA like they were discussing in the car scene??
It's not the ghost of Godric.
I know that vampires are supposed to not have ghosts but I saw Godric levitating in the parking lot of Fangtasia and I thought it couldn't be the real thing since it went up in flames
It must be an Eric dream sequence...
I guess Alcide will come & pick Sookie up then they'll have their talk where Sookie will consider dating him and dropping Bill!
It's an hallucination. It's Sookie.
And we have to wait 2 weeks because of Labor Day. They never show new episodes on a holiday weekend.
Oh so Eric thinks Godric is saving him when in fact it's Sookie?? Love it!
ok, now I get it. that's pretty awesome, huh, who would have guessed The Ball could have done something good
)))
I think Bill will cement Eric, or at least that what he thinks but in the meantime Eric disappear mabye (i'm not sure this will be show in thios finale maybe in 4x01)...but what a surprise when he will find out an Amnesia Eric at Sookie's not remembering that Bill almost killed him....that would be a good plot for next season, while Sookie try to help Eric, Bill otherwise will try to f** up everything...
Well i know it's too good to be true but i girl can always dream right? XD
it's so frustrating to think that sookie and eric will never be on the same page - sookie doesn't understand why Bill is allowing rusell and eric to bite her; eric thinks his savior is godric come to life instead of the real person who tries to save him - sookie.
I hope the amnesia period clears up the confusion
.
I don't get how Sookie could be lying on the table inside Fangtasia, apparently unconscious due to blood loss, and then has the energy to run outside and save Eric.
Any theories?
Littlelou: claudine probably saves her.
I sincerely hope that when Eric sees the vision of Godric that at the end of it realizes it's Sookie. Then it will be soooo cool. He revered Godric so it will put Sookie in a whole new stratosphere for him.
I can't believe it's already the Season 3 Finale! We've gone a loooong way girls!
Russell is no more - is that Claudine? Eric as well - that's definitely Bill. So, he somehow left Eric out in the sun?
I've waited centuries to find a true fae - SA. Your Majesty, Sookie is here - Beel again. He's already coming clean on his original errand for the Queen?
What was that above Sookie at 0:27? I am so lost - looks like a UFO to me...
I haven't watched Ep 11 yet, so I couldn't connect the secondary characters to the finale. Hmm. Looks interesting.
eric thinks his savior is godric come to life instead of the real person who tries to save him - sookie.
But even if he doesn't know then when he regains his memories he could see the tape from fangtasia and find out that way. He will still know.

I need a beer, I'm jetlagged lol. I love him.
Here's to hoping Sookie rescinds Bills invitation to her house! http://www.trueblood-italy.com/?p=1810
She does actually. I saw another hbo ad for the finale and it showed Sookie kicking Bill out as she was crying, and it showed Bill and SA fighting in Sookie's house.
http://i37.tinypic.com/2my6dtw.jpg I wonder if Sookie will use her fae powers with RE.
yeah, that's what it seems like!! hopefully not on Eric!!!!!
Also, it appears that Sam is gonna shoot Tommy...
Loved Bill looking like a crazed bat at the end!
yeah, that's what it seems like!! hopefully not on Eric!!!!!
Oh gah! I hope she's not using her power on Eric. Because I'm wondering what he is screaming for (aside from him feeling pain from burning). RE looks completely passed out. And well, there is a left sandal at the left bottom of the screen. So it looks like someone is standing over Eric while he is screaming. It could be Godric but I wonder. And I believe Sookie was wearing tennis shoes or something, not sandals. haha, I've watched that promo too many times!
hehe! I think Eric sees Godric but in fact it's Sookie standing over him...
That's what I think too.
re: epi 12 promo: Wait a sec - is that yet another kiss eric gives sookie? He's in a leather jacket and she is in the grey tee-shirt, the one she has been wearing...can someone explain? is this a new scene or did we see this one already? He was wearing a black tee the night he kissed her in his office, right?
Wait a sec - is that yet another kiss eric gives sookie? He's in a leather jacket and she is in the grey tee-shirt, the one she has been wearing...can someone explain?
Laladida, that was a scene from Sookie's dream sequence back in episode 10.
@BigPD: Oh, thank you! It actually took me a few minutes to remember that one after I read what you wrote. My brain is filled with TB images - these promos mix up all the scenes. ![]()
No problem, laladida!
I totally understand--I am actually re-reading CH's novels because I'm starting to get canon confused with all of the fanfic out there.
SPOILER ALERT!
From Watch with Kristin: http://www.eonline.com/uberblog/watch_with_kristin/b198182_spoiler_chat_holy_shocker_guess_whos.html
Benedict in New Orleans: True Blood please! Finale scoop!
I'm starting to get very frightened for our dear Sook (Anna Paquin). Something tells me Denis O'Hare's promise that he'll be "weeping tears of joy" may have to do with him walking in sunlight, and I'm also hearing Russell probably won't be offed. Danger, danger, danger.
The Fae blood must really slow down Eric and RE from burning up. Look how fast Godric went. He burst into flames. He said he was 2000 years old. RE 3000 and Eric 1000. I thought the older you are the faster go.
Since RE is older and stronger than Eric, he could have just ripped Eric's arm off and went back inside and Pam could have been waiting with a stake.
But the handcuffs Eric used were made from silver, which severely weakens the vampire. Look at how Yvetta (a human) was able to subdue Pam with the silver chains.
Forgot about the silver.
Great list of questions for the finale: http://true-blood.net/2010/09/02/spoilers-true-blood-season-finale-spoilers/
that half foot in the left corner... is that godric?
It may be very well be Godric's foot. The outfit you see Godric wearing in the previews would match that sandal.
o man...i wonder how eric will explain his betrayal to SA...i always thought that the light coming out of sookie's fingers weren't really her powers. claudine said that they have helped her many times, i feel that it was claudine and the other fae's that helped her throw that chain around rattray's neck, the light when maryanne tried to touch her and the light when cooter try to catch her...somehow whenever she is in major danger with a vamp, like being drained by bill, by RE and eric, it doesn't work because the they are afraid of the vamps...
exactly when does claudine come out of ther fairy dream and into the real world like in the books, i like that claudine, so confident and flirty...
that half foot in the left corner... is that godric?
maybe it's the cameraman ROLFLMVAO it would be the ultimate in the stupidity of TB
o man...i wonder how eric will explain his betrayal to SA...i always thought that the light coming out of sookie's fingers weren't really her powers. claudine said that they have helped her many times, i feel that it was claudine and the other fae's that helped her throw that chain around rattray's neck, the light when maryanne tried to touch her and the light when cooter try to catch her...somehow whenever she is in major danger with a vamp, like being drained by bill, by RE and eric, it doesn't work because the they are afraid of the vamps...
Good observation.
Yes but Claudine did use the light on Bill.
to save herself, she was running away. if bill didnt pin her down i think she would have just ran instead of shooting light at him
That's a really good point. It would at least provide an explanation for why Sookie can't seem to use it at will which has always bugged me. Also, I have a hope that the "light fingers" fairy power might come into play against SA?!
It looks like Bill fights SA in his house... at least he's attacking someone in his house, and we know that SA will be there by the furniture and the state of the walls. I'm sure that AB will find a way to make it seem as though Bill is fighting for Sookie's safety.
I can't wait for Sookie to rescind Bill's invitation, but if she does it all teary eyed, and sad faced it will suck some of the enjoyment out of it! Jason turfing him out was awesome. Hope Sook can muster up some chutzpah and kick his ass out with some style.
Just had a thought: if we know AB and his tactics, he's going to give Bill some way to try to redeem himself. What if SA comes to Bill's house for an update. Bill tells her RE and Eric are finally dead to put her at ease, when she asks he tells her Sookie is here in the house just this way. She turns her back to walk to where he has indicated "I have searched forever for a fae" and he jumps her from behind, trying to take her out so Sookie will be safe. Sounds like AB to me?
OR Sookie refuses his invitation to his house and rescinds his invitation to hers. This leaves Bill with the advent of SA arriving at his house and no fae telepath to hand over, or bargain with, or negotiate or whatever. So he plans to lure and attack SA rather than face the consequences of his failure to procure Sookie?
I was thinking it was Claudine too...but maybe it's our introduction to Claude? Who bears an uncanny resemblence to Godric thus confusing Eric?
Knowing AB Bill himself probably tells Sookie to rescind his invitationt o her house to keep her save from him and to play SA at the same time.
I wonder how old SA is in TB... we know she's younger than Eric, but is she younger than Bill too? Her name wasn't mentioned in the spoilers of characters who come back for season 4 so maybe Bill gets to polish his shining armor again with some ecofriendly cleaners and save his damsel in distress ( Mari: acidental overdose while cleaning with eco-friendly, silver/garlic enhanced cleaners??)
SA has been around since before the Industrial Revolution since she mentioned that last year. So she's older than Bill.
!SPOILER!
Just saw another preview of the season finale. It shows Sookie rescinding her invitation to Bill (finally!) and it shows SA and Bill fighting at Bill's house. Bill was on one end of the well (as shown on the last preview) and the other side was SA. I'm wondering if SA will be the one to reveal to Sookie what Bill's initial purpose was for returning to Bon Temps.
Sorry I can't upload on YT. I'm not savvy enough. ![]()
What is the exact title of the video. Not only will I watch it, but I'll embed it here.
Hi Judy. I actually saw it on HBO. I finished watching Ghosts of Girlfriends Past and they aired it right before the next movie. I think it just aired at the time I saw it. I've been working all day and haven't seen the preview until now. I'm assuming they'll start showing more of this tidbit now.
I also tried to look for it on HBO online but can't find it. They were quick shots. 1st scene: Sookie says "I rescind your invitation." Bill screams "No!" as he's flying out the door. 2nd scene: Bill hissing then SA hissing before they both fly off the walls to attack.
I saw that one on Sunday on the 11 30 air time actually so they are showing it randomly. It has clips from other shows as well.
oh ok. I never saw it and couldn't find on YT or this forum. So I thought it hadn't aired yet. ![]()
Here's another alternate promo. haha I'm sure you all have seen it but just in case.
Entertainment Weekly previews the finale, interview with Alex: http://www.ericnorthman.net/?p=2319
Will Pam save Eric from burning? She has to take blood from Sookie if she does that.
Loved this part too, Alex!
I did like the one where I’m having sex with Yvetta, and Sookie shows up, and I’m kind of flirting with her naked. And this is like five seconds after she saw me fucking another girl. I think that’s pretty cocky.
I like the usage of the word cocky, considering the state of his GP while flirting.
Cocky it is!

Of course, SM's favorite scene is when he had sex with Sookie in the mud. Yuck.
In the season 4 info there is a post that put in that shows the two promos for episode 12. (the i09).
At least some of it. I saw another on HBO tonight showing more of the Queen
Here it is. They must have run out of money for the 'flying' effects at the end. Just crap.
Crying clown Bill again... can't wait to see that.
I wonder who gave her blood this time.
He's only leaping. He can't fly.
They should just get Bill a Segway.
Haha, Bill as a Paul Blart Mallcop Segway driver.
I can't believe we're ALMOST exactly back to where we were a few effing months ago! This whole TB/CH cycle hates! I wish the books came out in fall!
Crying clown Bill again
Considering vamps are supposed to be cold and have few emotions they really have spent a lot of time in tears this season. Perhaps AB should introduce a vamp therapist. They could all do with some help.
. Perhaps AB should introduce a vamp therapist. They could all do with some help.
Hm, Chapter 8 of Kill Bill is called Twelve Steps! YES! they need help!
Love the Vamp therapist idea DiB...!
SA gets mad at Bill for not fulfilling his duties of procuring the fairy blood... They should really see a vamp therapist. LOL

Is she running to save Eric?
I could think of no other scenario Karla... But i wonder what this black criss-cross in the foreground could be? Someone watching her from the inside of the building across Fangtasia? Alcide maybe? He's (later?) in Fangtastia with Bill?
SA has been around since before the Industrial Revolution since she mentioned that last year. So she's older than Bill.
And it is about damn time since we know that barring Eric and Russell, there are few vampires older or stronger than Saint Bill. I HATED that Pam was younger than him, but I LOVED that she still whipped his ass. LOL
i think its just the position of where the camera is that it behind the fence looking in...
and i dont think she is going to save eric, i mean she just ot betrayed by him, i doubt she is that forgiving to run save him. besides she has a silver chain, what is she gonna do with that?
She's going to put th chain on RE. There would be no other reason to run out since Eric was going to burn up anyway. There have been spoilers about RE in chains.
Lileeli, i never doubted she would run outside with that chain because she finally sees clear(er) and yes, maybe not fogave him but saw his reasons and his self-sacrifice. If she wouldn't care, she could let him burn, no?
I still wonder why they'd put the camera behind a fence to just film her run outside. It seems to me that POV is indicating someone watching her from behind some window/fence.
Judy... you're right! When i read the spoilers about the chains first, i kept wondering why they didn't just plainly stake him or leave him out to burn. Probably Eric threw away the key to their handcuffs and she had to drag them both back in?
Actually, Silke, that theory lends credence to your idea that perhaps Alcide is watching her through those bars or whatever makes that x in the picture. Otherwise, how in the heck is she going to drag two vampires - RE I could see maybe, but not 200 plus pounds of Viking vamp - all the way back into Fangtasia? And wouldn't Eric be the priority? Get Alcide to drag or carry him back to safety.( That would make sense then why they needed to cast Alcide as being the same size or bigger than Eric.) Leave RE to burn after binding him securely in silver chains, then removing the handcuff?
ohh Liann, good theory! I didn't think as far as Alcide helping Sookie to drag both men back in. Since Eric already starts smoking, there probably won't be time to seperate him from RE. I just wonder why Alcide shows up? Who calls him? This ties nicely into that article i saw on true blood italy. JM says in an interview that he and Sookie pick up where they left off in their last scene together (uagh) , so he might help her if she asks him even if it's against his beliefs and that he'll work together with the vamps in 'unlikely alliance'.
also: http://www.trueblood-italy.com/?p=1876#more-1876 new spoiler pictures of the finale.
Eric wearing fierce red sneakers? And a track suit again?? His burns are gone!
Bill seems to wear the same clothes he did in Fangtasia.
What's Godric doing there?
I love how Eric seems to be the vamp in charge again and is the one to push that button ![]()
Is Eric wearing a black velvet tracksuit???? that is soooo Eric!
I think Allan Hyde was there because he's in an hallucintion that Eric has. Eric sees Godric, but it's really Sookie. He may not even wear the jumsuit when they film, but maybe he will. That scene was a rehearsal. I think the sneakers were just Alex's. But it would be fun to see Eric in them. Most probably the burns will be gone when he encases RE.
I do like the idea that Alcide helps Sooke carry in Eric, but I don't see him there even at the rehearsal. Maybe he left already.
I always thought that the flip flops from earlier seasons were so bad ass. It was like "Yeah, I'm wearing flip flops. You don't like it? F*** You!" The sneakers would be so cute, but it totally looks like an Eric outfit. Of course Bill is wearing jeans and we almost never see that, so it might have been a rehearsal shot. Hate Bill, but SM looks okay in jeans. Don't shoot me, Still 100% Eric obsessed and proud of it.![]()
The seem to choose to put Bill in jeans whenever they want to make him appear "bad ass". He was in jeans in the first 2 episodes, I believe, when they were giving him a darker, edgier look and personality. Once mainstreamiing, recycling bill took over it was into the Dockers and on with the Polo shirts! I think he was wearing jeans when he was made to turn Jessica as well, but I'm not 100% on that. Perhaps with him attacking the Queen and getting his invitation rescinded and all, they're going for that edgier look again?
In that first episode SM was hot as hell! Docker Bill? Not so much LOL.
Dallas, today i'm ashamed to admit it, but yes, when i saw the first episode, i thought Bill was hot as hell. Mind you, i read the books much later. He looked so much more badass and wilder. His dressing style, the hairstyle...
I agree, everytime Bill should appear badass, he's taking a page out of Eric's book.
I wonder why they kept Bill in his Fangtasia clothes in the rehearsal (and Godric too) but changed clothes for Eric. Maybe he's to appear nekkie in that scene and reheared in a tracksuit to get out fast if needed?? (Yeah i know, wishful thinking
)
what i want to see is whats underneath that track suit...because its hugging all the right places on him...lol
why is eric so mad tho? that angry face...
Eric is screaming at RE that's why he's angry.
I'm still hoping the queen's in the pit with RE...
As to clothes, I'd say Eric probably had a change of clothes available at Fangtasia and Bill didn't so Eric changed. He's always "clean-cut", you never see him dirty or messy!
And yes, I found SM as Bill hot too in the first couple episodes but then Bill's personality seeped in (and Eric came along) and all my attraction vanished!
Beatrice, we've been cured by a healthy dose of swedish medicine ![]()
I keep wondering why they choose such an unusal way of getting rid of RE. Why not stake him while he's weak from the silverchains? Why not behead him? Burying him alive seems too risky for such a crazy vampire.
Silke, that's my thought entirely. While it would be literally be torture to be encased that way, it's stupid, since he is so strong and he could get out. And when he did, he'd be even more pissed than he was when Eric found him in the museum.
Judy, when i first saw the spoiler pics, i thought that maybe they didn't bury a vampire. After all, they get rid in a neat lil puddle which fits into an urn. Maybe they get rid of a real body, a human or a shifter. Debbie?!
But the summary for the finale says:
Eric (Alexander Skarsgård) grapples with his conscience while plotting his perfect revenge against Russell (Denis O’Hare). Buried alife forever would certainly be the ultimate torture!
I'm speculating the blood everybody is supposed to be drenched in could be SA's. After all, i never read that she'll return for season 4.
I thought it would be SA too. Too bad, I was beginning to like her now that she wasn't pouring it on as hard. She was trying too hard last year.
I concur, it would be to bad... for one, i really enjoy the chemistry between her and Eric... there's a definite sizzle.
But i'm also a bit concerned about the larger implications. I know we probably won't get 13-14 seasons... but if she's definately dead, the blood bond of ATD will be less likely happening- or under completely different condictions. Such a pitty really, another of the most remarkable scenes between Eric and Sookie changed or ruined ![]()
I started liking SA too. Hope she sticks around.
the blood bond of ATD will be less likely happening- or under completely different condictions.
Knowing AB, by the time the blood bond is supposed to happen they will have to do it to save Bill who has shown himself to be a true friend to both Eric and Sookeh many times over.
GAG!!
well here is something i am confused about, the blood bond described in CH's books is that you must take it more that 3 times and it must be both taking each other's blood at the same time, right? but sookie alreay took bill's blood more than 3 times in TB...but i counted that in the books sookie only took bill's blood 2 times...so how does that work? unless i am wrong
Eric is screaming at RE that's why he's angry.
but this takes place at night, i would think that RE is dead...but its a great relief to see that eric is still alive, i thought that AB favored bill too much and wants to kill off eric, but i am sure there would be a tsunami of eric fans wanting to kill him for doing so...lol
lileeli, CH stated that the number of times the blood is exchanged doesn't - it only has to be done in a mutual way. I didn't pay close attention to the sex-scenes between Sookie and Bill, but i do believe that in one scene they both exchanged blood while they did the nasty. (Quite literally -.-)
I don't know if he's really dead or if he will be buried alife. Since he will return in season 4 (the actor has been casted again), it could be also in a dream or a vision - like Godric's reappearance in the finale. I have the feeling though they will bury him alife.
but i do believe that in one scene they both exchanged blood while they did the nasty. (Quite literally -.-)
Actually, I don't think they ever exchanged, exchanged (on page). In DUD he tells her to take his blood before they go to Fangtasia b'c she'll need to be as strong as possible. I don't think he took from her. In fact, he refrains even the next night & she gets all pissy b'c he smells. i don't remember them ever doing a ATD style swap.
So there are some spoiler pics up on true blood's facebook page here is the link
http://www.facebook.com/#!/album.php?aid=215794&id=69144888562
Laura, i was refering to TB... i seem to recall a nasty scene when they did the nasty and a lot of blood was involved? Uagh, please don't make me rewatch those ![]()
Laura, i was refering to TB... i seem to recall a nasty scene when they did the nasty and a lot of blood was involved? Uagh, please don't make me rewatch those ![]()
Ooohhh I thought you were talking about the book b'c you referred to CH. I don't remember if they did on TV either. Although with those chompers on her, I wouldn't be surprised.
I keep wondering why they choose such an unusal way of getting rid of RE. Why not stake him while he's weak from the silverchains? Why not behead him? Burying him alive seems too risky for such a crazy vampire.
I thought about this as well. Maybe Sookie convinces Eric not to kill him. Burying him alive seems risky, unless they have him wrapped up in silver chains. Perhaps they used the silver chain Sookie was holding when she ran out to save Eric.
I am wondering if this cementing is AB's twist on Waldo's story. I believe in the books, the Queen submerged Waldo in some type of saline solution?
"As for Pam, the saucy queen of killer one-liners, actress Kristin Bauer shared that her character will be in the midst of a fight — both physical and emotional. “For Pam, the next two episodes, she’s trying — she’s in an emotional battle and a physical battle trying to save Eric. It’s quite something,” she said. “There are some twists and turns that happen. It’s really clever.”
“Some great Eric and Bill moments,” Moyer added. “We’re not supposed to tell you.”
http://www.trueblood-news.com/blah-blah-season-finale-teasers-blah
Maybe Bill convinces Eric to not stake RE and just bury him? I'm just wondering if he will be the traitor who will let him out that cement in S4.
When he sees that he's losing Sookie... yeah, maybe!
Hmmm....SA in black mourning. Obviously, we all know Denis O'Hare said his storyline would be left open for a possible return, but this makes me think that whatever Sookie/Bill/Whoever does to RE, they think they've gotten rid of him for good. If he were on the loose somewhere, surely SA wouldn't be dressed in full mourning garb. Silke, this makes me think that the cement idea is the most probable, since we all know staking him would do the trick for sure...Sorry if I am stating the obvious; I just came off a double shift at the hospital where I saw the most disgusting thing happen to a baby. It's been a long night. ![]()
AB has made a smartass comment about someone's future being cemented.
Ugh, he's not endearing himself to me at all. And now that I've reread that post, I was definitely mostly stating the obvious. Sorry, guys.
Just a random thought: Maybe they keep him alife/undead and buried under cement because they fear his maker would feel his death like RE felt Talbots? Then the same madness starts over again? Sure, i don't think there are too many 3000+ years old vampires around anymore, but maybe they don't want to take THAT risk?
I don't think Sookie would convince Eric of such a torture. Better put an end to it to be safe and done... It's not her nature (yet?) to be so cruel?
I also think SA wears this (awesome!! She reminded me so much of a mourning Scarlett!!) mouring dress to emphasize her 'husband' is dead now and she can rule Louisiana ANd Mississippi.
I don't think they're worried about his maker. Frankly, it just looks like a plot device to keep him around for future stories. It makes no sense otherwise since it's a stupid and dangerous choice.
haha Judy beat me. I was going to write that I think Denis did such as great job as RE that they somehow want to keep his character open for another return. Which I'm actually glad they did because Denis did such a great job as RE. haha! I just keeping hearing in my head... "And now for the weather.... Tiffany?"
Yeah, regardless how you twist and turn it, it doesn't make sense. It's like in the old James Bond movies, when the villian ties Bond to something, only to start some complicated, longwinded mechanism which drops the victim into a shark pool or something. All the while explaining his evil plan and giving Bon time to escape. Didn't our James Blonde watch those movies to know better? lol
Denis O'Hare has done a fabulous job. I can even see substituting him for the Hot Rain revenge plot, assuming that they don't just go back to St. Bill and Stoopie after S4. Because Eric didn't kill Longshadow and there's no meaningful revenge plot. There was no mention of reparations anyway. It looked like the only punishment was creating Jessica.
I think that if AB allows Sookie a real, as in not a dream, dose of the GP; that is will be impossible even to him for a Bill and Stoopie reunion. Of course, he could always insert a new character a middle age, homosexual man that loves Bill and acts as his day man. Then Eric and Sookie could be.
Of course, he could always insert a new character a middle age, homosexual man that loves Bill and acts as his day man.
LOL!!
Did you guys see this small clip from the finale yet?
http://www.hbo.com/true-blood/episodes/3/36-evil-is-going-on/video/clip-sookie.html?autoplay=true&cmpid=ABC123
wow in that clip he didn't say her name all weird like he usually does.
I love her dress. I hate howshe's holding her arms?!
And that sudden appearance of Bill seriously startled me. Ick!
Why do they keep putting such cheap/bad false lashes on her? If anything, i think she has very pretty eyes. Sometimes, they make look her really pretty, but this half-done, fake-natural look with the fakelashes doesn't do her any good.
I loved that scene with Hoyt! How funny is Momma Fortenberry??
I wasn't going to anything about her wonky, floppy arms b'c I always do but you brought it up so....I just can't stand it!
Laura, you know what those arms remind me off? it was bugging me for some time now and i couldn't remember... now i suddenly had a flash! The white queen in that Alice movie! I need to find a youtube clip...
Wonky, floppy arms! LOL!

My Two Cents:
The White Queen's arms were ridiculous. Like Anne Hathaway couldn't figure out what the hell to do with them as a queenly person. Hello you did the freaking Princess Diaries, you should know this.
If getting a piece of ass, brings back sweet Sam(who is adorable in his boxers, lol) then I say Tara needs to put out. She can be paid in hoecakes made in bacon grease! And if she scoffs at him for being a shifter I will resurrect Franklin and he can eat her, with or without bacon grease.
The intervention on the side of the freaking road? WTF Maxine. Why don't you just repossess the man's penis?
That is all![]()
haha the arms! but it's her running that makes me chuckle. It looks like she's about to trip. She wasn't very graceful in that scene. ![]()
Hehe - She looks like Forest Gump running during a football game. (No offence Forest, you're brilliant). And Bill needs to get a new line. We've had 3 episodes of various "Sookay's"
Bill looks all gray in that video, the same color as the scary sock monkey! The sock monkey is still way cooler than lame old Bill.
I presume the slightly non-graceful run comes from her having flat feet, as she mentions here
Perhaps Sookie wakes up seeing the real Bill (if Claudine or someone other than Bill heals her).
Gee, thanks for that link. So, straight from "the horse's mouth":
23: I have flat feet and my elbows kind of point in the wrong direction.
AND
25: I hate watching my work because I think I'm funny-looking and make odd expressions when I talk.
LOL!!! Exactly what we've complained about. Bless her heart...
I can forgive the flat feet and elbows, but the facial expressions she needs to work on. If she would watch herself she could pin point the problems and work on fixing them in a mirror or home video. I guess since she is still getting roles she doesn't feel the need.
Well, to be fair many actors hate to watch themselves work: Johnny Depp for one. So perhaps she has just felt that she's like many of her colleagues that way. Not that it's an indication that she needs to change anything.
I just think it's very amusing that she herself has recognized many of the things that we have criticized or complained about on here. It's almost like she came on tangler and complained about herself! ![]()
My respect for her just increased ten-fold. She owned up to it all. Go girl!
http://truebloodnet.com/true-blood-season-finale-prediction-speculations/
Where does Sookie running out of Fangtasia with the chain come in? Who will give Sookie blood? I like the hunch that Bill is working for the AVL. Shows how two-faced (sometimes three) he is.
Bill isn't working for the AVL. That's just a fevered fantasy of love-lorn BLs. It's just another way for them to elevate Bill's importance. If he was working for the AVL, the Magister wouldn't have accepted Eric's blame of Bill as the one selling the blood.
its so hard for bill or SM to keep to one "sookie" because there are times where his southern accent is harder...he is english, so i think the american southern accent is too hard for him to get a hold of...lol
ummm, i think killing RE is more beneficial to the authority, eric, SA, bill, sookie, why wouldnt they just kill him...sookie knows for a fact that when vampires die they turn into goop, so with the benefits of RE dead outweighing keeping him alive, they would have killed him...unless debbie comes to save him and with alcide all still in love with her he might have let her do it, since he is the strongest one there with it being daylight and the vamps start having the bleeds, and sookie out of blood...
They're also wrong about Pam running out into the sun. She wouldn't last long enough to drag Eric in. And they're wrong about Godric. We already know that is really Sookie. She's the one who runs outside. And Eric thinks she's Godric.
That was what I was thinking too, Judy. If Pam will run out into the sun, then she has to have fairy blood meaning she will also have to take blood from Sookie. I still think it will be Sookie who will save Eric, making him see her as Godric. Alcide will be the one to help her drag Eric inside Fangtasia.
lileeli, the only reason I can think of is they have to keep RE alive so he can return to S4. otherwise it really makes no sense not to just stake him.
The prediction about Eric & RE seems too far-fetched. if the blogger saw all the previews they've been showing leading up to the season finale, she would change her speculations. After all, you see Sookie running out with a silver chain, which is obviously for RE. Then you also see Sookie using her light, which I assume is for RE. As for Pam running out, it seems plausible. In season 1 finale, Bill was able to walk in the sun even though he was really burning. That said, I don't think she'll do that. I would say that Sookie uses her light to incapacitate RE, wraps RE with the chain, and drags both Eric & RE inside, with someone's help. Then later RE is cemented with the chains.
I wonder if Sookie gives her blood to Pam or Bill to keep them from burning for a few minutes.
I thought about that, but does Sookie have enough blood left?
I don't think Sookie can use her light at will... the past few times, it randomly happened, she had no controll over it. I think she uses her light in fairy-land, not against a vamp.
And Judy is right.. Eric must have taken a substantial amount to last long enough in the sun to trick RE.
Well, the only thing I can think is that they revive her and request this of her. Maybe Bill or Pam won't need too much of her blood. If this is a possibility, I'd say Pam take some blood from Sookie and Bill give his blood to Sookie. So Pam and Sookie run out to save. But we do see Sookie running out by herself. Just an idea, but I doubt that's what they do.
Sera, Sookie usually can't use her light at will. But the preview shows her using her powers. And she is wearing the same outfit she had when she was at Fangtasia. So she definitely uses her light on somebody who is lying on the floor, based on the camera angle of that preview.
Maybe at this point she can already will her powers due to the demands of the situation.
I'm really excited to see how Bill's secret is revealed. Is it through Bill himself? Does SA have anything to do with it? Does Bill fight with SA because she revealed that information? Can't wait!
I thought about that, but does Sookie have enough blood left?
Last time we saw Sookie, she was still sprawled out on that table with Bill desperately yelping about how he had to "feed Sookeh." I'm not sure she has any blood left to give. Frankly, it wouldn't make a whole lot of sense to me if she "donated" to Pam or Bill.
Frankly, it wouldn't make a whole lot of sense to me if she "donated" to Pam or Bill.
yeah, I agree. But I'm just wondering if Sookie can help Eric out by herself. I'm not sure about the idea that Alcide is there to help out.
Alcide is in the episode, and he is strong enough to drag them both in.
Yes but how could he get there fast enough for it to matter. He was back in Jackson. I don't see Alcide being there to drag them in, I think Sookie will do it by herself I mean she is going to be filled up on vamp blood and we know from Tara that means she should be able to throw them over her shoulder (or drag at least). Alcide will probably show up later at Sookie's request.
If Alcide is there to help carry them in, there had better be a good explination. Who called him in advanced and why? Was he just stalking Sookie? How did he know where she was? There are just so many holes.
Yeah, but how long ago did Eric stake Talbot? 1 night ago? Maybe 2? The same night RE came to Sookie's house with Debbie Pelt and those werewolves. Maybe Alcide caught up on that and wanted to check on her? OR Eric ordered him previously to Fangtasia as a back-up for Sookie? Just a wild guess, but i could totally see him do that.
Yea if some time off camera Alcide was called it would work. I just know that Eric needs to be rescued fast so Alcide would have to already be there waiting if he were to help.
In the books, Alcide actually lives in Shreveport and was only visiting one of the family businesses in Jackson.
I think there's one interview in this thread where Alcide said he will be back in this episode (to Shreveport) since he has to check up on his business. Coincidentally, he checks on Sookie, somehow learns shes in Fangtasia, then they go and save Eric. That's how I think it would go anyway.
Yea I know in the books he lives there, but last we heard in the show he was going back to Jackson to check on family things after Debbie burned down his sister's salon. Karla that would work I just hope they explain some of that.
Maybe while she is running through the forest and looking at the chandelier, Claudine gives her some mroe Tinkerbell juice and that is what revives her.
Chandelier LOL It's a giant chandelier..
Honestly, when I saw the ad, that was my first thought. A flying chandelier. Tinkerbell juice LOL.
LOL. An enlarged chandelier to become the size of a UFO.
RE will be asking Sookie's help in the finale:
What can you tell us about the finale?
Come on! We have days to go. I’ve been so good. Will I blow it now? I will tell you this, it’s fun and it’s dramatic. There’s some great writing in this episode. I have a fantastic scene with Sookie. It’s a bookend scene of the one where we had a long fireside chat and I ask, “What are you?” Now we have another scene where I’m negotiating trying to get her to help me and it comes to a bad end.
Looks like Sookie is defending Pam.
Or Pam is backing Sookie up. Like SOokie is calling Bill out adn PAm is all "you go girl, thats right"
Bill probably just told Sookie to let Eric die, look at what he did to you....blah...blah...blah! And Sookie is probably turning the tables back on him which is why he has a defensive posture and Pam looks like she has death rays shooting out of eyes! Of course he wants him out of the way, he knows Sookie has real feelings for him.
I think Sookie has started to get a clue. Look at what she said to Bill in the car about Eric.."seeing another side of him and it was real". She had to have known by how he softly touched her cheek & hesitated to bite her plus he was stroking her hair that there was more to it than what was said. Plus the fact that he kissed her goodbye..so at this point she knows he plans on killing himself in order to destroy RE.
Pam may have told Sookie that Eric plans on dying to protect her from RE. That otherwise RE would problaby kill Eric anyway and get his hands on Sookie.
I agree that Sookie is told about Eric trying to save her. And knowing Sookie, she doesn't want Eric to die and thinks of the plan to save Eric. Bill's probably unhappy about that but reluctantly agrees. If Sookie is strong from having Bill's blood, it's possible she could help Eric by herself. BUT isn't RE somehow saved only to be cemented later? Sookie can't bring both Eric and RE. She'll need help. So maybe Alcide is the only option.
I wonder if Claudine decides to appear in the human world in the season finale.
haha! at the chandelier comment! It really does like one ginormous chandelier. Oh TB's amazing special effects. ![]()
I wonder if Claudine decides to appear in the human world in the season finale.
Maybe she's the one who's riding the enormous chandelier?
Sookie really looks like she's questioning Bill. And Pam looks like she wants to kill Bill right then and there.
Maybe RE will be dragged in to Fangtasia along with Eric, and they will bury him later. AB telling us that an endless torture is better than a quick death, ergo, so he can show up S4 for more moolah.
Here's another image:
Sookie definitely doesn't look happy with Bill in those shots. I wonder if this leads to their fight, with her rescinding his invitation or if it's something more?
Bill looks kinda nervous in the second picture. (about the giant chandelier. maybe ET will show up, aliens ha ha)
A little off topic, but where's Mari, maybe that chandelier can be part of her Fanfic?
I would love it if Pam told Sookie everything about Eric saving her. So far Pam and Sookie have had very little banter, and I would love to see that friendship develop in TB that they have in the books.
There was no "That Pam" moment yet for Sookie. I miss the books.
Here's an interview of Rutina. I like her when she's not Tara. Sure hope that her character finds stability, too. Nothing revealed that we don't already know.
http://truebloodnet.com/rutina-wesley-tara-role-season-finale/
I like her too. I have to say that I liked Tara this year, in the episode where she rescued Sookie and Beeyul. She had her head on in that episode and was really take charge. I hope we get more of that in the future.
Come Sunday, when the third season finale of his HBO series airs, Trammell says you can expect to see more of the “fed-up, darker, meaner Sam. He’s taken a turn over the last few episodes. The Sam drama continues in the finale and there’s a big cliffhanger. I’ll get very angry. I will be shooting a gun. My brother is just one person who best look out.”
http://www.trueblood-online.com/cast-crew/sam-trammell-sam/sam-trammell-talks-sam-merlotte-in-true-bloods-finale/
Who will he be shooting?
Ugh, I don't like Sam's story at all. I could do with a lot less him and a lot more of a certain Viking sheriff!
Tara? Bill ? Just kidding. have know idea I agree don't like it musch either.
I'm connecting it to the spoiler that someone's not going to survive the season. From Trammel's statement I'm thinking he could be the one responsible for that death.
Maybe it is his brother how else would he be leaving if he is.
Tommy will be back next seaosn so I don't think Sam kills him.
"I'm looking for the guy that shot my paw."--Tommy Mickens-Merlotte?
Sorry ladies but it came to my head and I knew that if I didn't type it here,it would eat me alive. LOL
Season Finale Spoilers wrapped up by TB.Net:
http://true-blood.net/2010/09/02/spoilers-true-blood-season-finale-spoilers/
Where is everybody? Who's watching?
I'm watching.
I had a hell of a time watching AP/Sookie run in the beginning of the episode. Those wonky arms...
Hi Ash! How is it, so far? Terrible? I can't watch it till tomorrow. And I'm about to snap here for the 2-week wait.
So far, it's whatever. Nothing much has happened.
We haven't got to the good stuff yet...assuming it's coming.
Based from the trending in Twitter, i'm guessing it's complicated.
So far the beginning was the best part. Hopefully the last 20 mins gets better.
Okay, I didn't see that one coming. Bill is so evihl. I still hate him, but at least he is interesting.
The BLs are crying in Twitter! What's happening?
The tears of clown..that is all I think about when I see bill and his clown face of tears. I can't believe I waited two weeks for this. Not entirely bad but geez, the first two seasons were so much better. Hopefully the next season will be better.
Alan Ball and the writers really don't know how to produce a decent season finale. There was no big bang, minimal action...
It could have been soooo much better. This show is so disappointing.
Besides Bill being outed, nothing happened worth watching this episode.
ITA, so anti-climatic. This season so blew.
How was the resolution with Eric and RE? (I'm still hacking up a storm, and really don't want to get myself too worked up if it's a crappy episode.)
RE is not entirely gone and Eric seems to be having a nervous breakdown w/ seeing his dead maker. he looked a bit crazy arguing w/ a ghost.
The best parts were the beginning, RE scenes, & Bill being outed. The very ending sucked as much as the finale to Twin Peaks.
I thought it was good. Book Sookie finally showed up! She had some good one liners. Eric outing Bill was amazing and very true to the book. All in all a great episode from my stand point though not a great finale.
Should I assume that those of us thinking Sookie would save Eric are going to be disappointed?
I feel kind of meh. I am happy that Bill got outed. He's going to have to be on the run, either from Eric and Pam or from killing SA. But, I think Sookeh will eventually forgive him.
No she saved him
SHE STILL DIDN"T CLEAN HER HOUSE!!!! Tara shouldn't have cut her hair either.
She totally ran out there to save him even though Bill told her not to.
Yep, Sookie coming to Eric's rescue, despite Bil, was one of my fav parts.
then she fed him her blood to heal him so cute.
We did see Book Sookie for a change.
Can someone please tell me why Sookie changed into a party dress and made her hair all pretty when she got home from Fangtasia?
yes she rocked
to make herself feel better.
I was SO happy to see book Sookie and dare I say a taste of book Eric and book Bill as well. I don't want to jinx it.
Ok, the burning question - who died?
He looked like a little child sucking on her wrist. It was so cute.
No one died from burning.
I thought the dress and hair were ridiculous too considering the circumstances. I think Tara cut her hair because it was a pain in the ass for Rutina to maintain the dreds.
Why was there a baby doll on the floor in the Jessica/ Hoyt scene?
No one really died
I don't know but that doll was creepy
I liked it. I didn't get my hopes to high. I thought Eric looked good when he was talking with Pam.
wished they showed Pam saving Eric. Voodoo doll maybe
Yeah I noticed the doll too. I thought it was some sort of witching doll?
Crystal's father is dead but who cares...lol
What, Pam saved Eric? I totally missed that. I just figured he used his super strength and flew out of the cement.
THEY KILLED CALVIN? WHAT THE HELL?
Yep, bullet to the face.
Pam had the best line when she said she killed Eric's assasin and she was like I have tolerance for that shit lol.
Pam had cement on her and she said something about saving him. I fogot her exact words
Is he dead? And did you catch one of his kids calling him Uncle Daddy. LMOA.
Thanks Kelli! Well, I never expected that, but right, who cares? LOL
I guess Eric wasn't too far off when he called them 'brother-cousins' earlier this season. ![]()
LOVED the uncle Daddy...LMAO!
I forgot about him
i thought the doll might have something to do with summer...she had some creepy fascination with dolls...and with maxine going all rambo, she's probably involved summer in some crazy plan...
Uncle-daddy really killed me too.
I have zero patience with that shit (from Twitter) - Pam?
yep
I figure that Eric called Pam via the maker link and she got him out. She was complaining about cement in her hair.
That is def what happened
If they cut out the Sam and Jason storylines and just kept the Hoyt/Jessica, Lafayette/ Jesus, Terry/Arlene (only because I love Terry) and of course most of all Eric & Sookie with lots of Pam I'd be verra verra happy. They just have WAY to many stotrylines going on.
SO HAPPY that Bill is finally portrayed as the dick he is.
What I didn't know was that Bill had a talent for impersonations. Sort of a Terminator scene throw back there.
That was my reaction too.
How is Bill gonna kill SA if he even is?
that shit was crazy. I waslike don't shake his hand he's a snake.
I wonder if we'll meet Niall in fairlyland next season?
I hope they kill each other. That would be nice.
I was SOOOO happy when Eric outed BILL! It was a looooooong time coming.
great as an episode (best of this season IMO) but lacked the "wow" factor of a season finale.
Bill got his, but Sookie didn't seem all that relived Eric was okay. I guess the messenger always gets the short end.
Probably so, Kelli. It seems they are really going all-in on this fairy thing.
How will the amnesia come into play? Will season 4 start with that? No right because Sookie is off in fairyland. Hmmm...But that's not safe if Eric gets amnesia now. I don't trust Bill. I hope Sookie watches out for him.
It seems they are really going all-in on this fairy thing.
I hope it doesn't appear quite as stupidly as it has in the previous episodes.
I think it will take a few episodes to give Eric amnesia. I like when Pam was like don't bring that thing back into the bar. Or when she was like who are you right now lol.
Like how Sookie was sitting on Eric's throne
Okay, so everyone will want to stake me. I loved the episode. Sookie got her brain back. Eric outed Beyull. Even though Sookie was cold to him, he apologized and honestly the girl has been through a lot she has a right to be mad. Russell was wonderful. Sookie acted like book Sookie but when she found out about Bill, who was so shamed by our man, she snapped. Good Girl.
Still hate the faeries. Sam shot Tommy, know he's not dead but still you go Sam. Didn't we already establish you don't steal from Sam Merlotte?
I am so ready for season 4 because in the books she was not happy with vampires. She wanted a New Years's Resolution to not get hurt and that meant vampire free. But as Eric apologized, she gave him a half hearted look. She let go of the hate for one second. She will save him in season 4.
Why did Eric shake Bill's hand? That was goofy, but remember he is emotionally reeling as well. So yeah, I now wait for the true death to be thrusted upon me. ![]()
Dallas well put.
I was ok with all the vamp scenes. Everything else blew. That's been true all season. The Hoyt/Mama stuff was ok.
What's the deal with Godric? I could understand Eric hallucinating as he was burning but he still saw him after he had healed. Is there life after death...death... Weird.
I didn't like the Godric hallucinations or whatever they were. But they needed an excuse to keep RE alive.
It wasn't a bad episode, but it certainly wasn't season finale worthy. I don't think they realize what a season FINALE is.
Hoyt's becoming quite the hottie.. He's got swagger now. Jason has lost his appeal to me. Jason I found incredily hot in season 1. Not so much anymore.
RE is gonna be pissed at Sookie at the end of next season when he shows up. She put Talbot in the garbage disposal.
Hoyt is tall too 6' 4.
Yeah Hoyt has definitely eclipsed Jason. But I like bigger men, LOL. I think that the Godric thing worked to show (pay attention Bill Lovers) the conscientious side of Eric. Eric has a conscience, which he struggles with. He cares and he loves. Do you notice that Bill doesn't ever worry about things He just does what he has to do, sweeps it under the rug, to save his own ass. Should have waited for the cement to dry you deep fried douche bag. LOL
I loved when she put Talbot in the garbage disposal. She was truly book Sookie in all scenes.
Yes, AP ROCKED SOOKIE TONIGHT! Good Girl!
I loved SOokie disposing of Talbot.
I actually thought ERW did a kickass job in her scene. loved her outfit and her attitude. She's grown into that role. She evolved from a bratty whiny queen. I liked it. I hope she's KICKS Bill's sorry ass and wipes the floor with him.
It was quite gross and sort of disturbing, but yes I liked it as well.
How about the evil laughter? It was awesome!
yes, one of the great moments of this somewhat lackluster finale
It was a good episode for most of the women in the show overall tonight. FINALLY ! They weren't the poor scared little victims being saved by the men.
Who wrote this one? Does anyone know? Surely it couldn't have been AB with the Bill reveal in it.
According to IMDB, Nancy Oliver penned this episode. She also wrote "Beautifully Broken."
Dare I say, she might be an Eric fan.![]()
I think Bill will have to flee either because he does kill SA or because she will be after him. We have no indication that ERW has been signed for S4.
I knew it had to be a woman. YESSS! She gave us book Sookie! WOO-HOO!
yeah, this was a Pro Eric episode for sure. Hopefully this will become a trend.
AB is probably firing Nancy Oliver as we speak and working to rewrite the finale himself...lol.
LoL. AB is definitely working a rewritten of his own. He loves his bill.
Eric looked so adorable with cement dust in his hair, and his track suit.
One thought, did Sam actually shoot his own brother? What a Psycho.
Oh no, my husband is like: They are shoving a lot into this episode for the first episode of the next season. And I was like yeah. Here is my scenario:
AB: Twelfth episode. Oh shit! Where is that thing? With the paper and the words?
Lackie: The book?
AB: WHat? No. Get me a Zinfadel.
Lackie: walks away shaking hand
AB: You know that thing, that we are supposedly basing this off of?
Crew and cast look at him questioningly.
AB: The book. That is what I was looking for. Jesus, do I have to do everything around here all by myself?
YOU GO NANCY! You should sponsor a direct a shower scene challenge, Nancy. Puhhlllease! I wanna do it. Please, please, please.
A couple things, I LOVE Hoyt. He is adorable-sexy. Yum. The fairy shit is getting on my nerves. It appears they are going to be going full-force into the fairy stuff and the amnesia stuff and the witch stuff all at the same time. Throw in all the shit going on with Sam and Tommy, Tara leaving, Jessica and Hoyt, and the Hot Shot stuff with Jason, and it makes for a more convoluted season than this one, if you can imagine that! I know they don't have time to spread things out like the books, but this is overdoing it.
The fairy shit annoys me too. I also annoyed me in the books.
The fairy crap didn't seem as gay in the book as it does on the show. What is with the chandelier/UFO crap? Where do they get this stuff?
I didn't mind the fairy stuff in the books until Book 9--too clunky of a treatment.
I think Eric fans/book fans should unite and send Nancy Oliver a thank you letter.
But I didn't hate the book fairies as much since they weren't dancing around like escapees from a poorly danced ballet.
I guess the fairies were telling Sookie to phone home
OMFG, that's hilarious!
I think they are just trying to protect her. It's about time.
Alcide told Sookie he's dreaming of her...odd.
Alcide needs to shave or go the hell away. He's way too scruffy for my liking.
So at first I thought Eric was listening to Godric and not killing Russell to release the hatred in him..but then Eric said he was doing it because he didn't want Russell to experience peace when he died. I was like okay THAT makes much more sense. LOVED it when Sookie told Bill he doesn't own her and to get outta the way and then she went to save ERIC. WOOT!
I keep going back to SM's comments that people who love Bill (hell he flat out acknowledged the BLs) will know that what he did was for her safety. Did that include having the Rattrays almost beat her to death?
I know both my house-mates hated the Godric scenes, but I actually liked them.
i thought the Godric scenes, were much, better then the fairy ones.
Ashley, you're right. My bad.
I love Godric and Eric does need to let go of his anger and let love come out. I mean I am hoping Sookie will bring it out of him next season.
NO WAY! AB wrote this episode? HOLY SHIT! He must have been on crack or had a gun to his head. I am stunned. HEY guys do you think maybe AB's been a closet Eric lover all this time and was just trying to lead the BL's in like lamb to the slaughter? Now that would be awesome!
I think he loves and hates them both
I like the scruffy look. But he should go away maybe with Tara. Sookie even sprayed RE. Forgot that. Eric did suspect something when he did go see SA about the Meanad. He found out that Bill gave alot of his blood to Sookie. I didn't see that coming about the Ratrays
I haven't seen much of the Eric love from AB until tonight. Bill on the other hand has consistantly been the teachers pet the last 3 seasons...lol
Cool as a cucumber Eric on the porch. Oh and Bill, I want my phone back.
He was wearing another track suit. My goodness, that man looks good in anything--or nothing. ![]()
Or when you two are done eye fucking can we go
Mary, go look at the fanart thread, left you a present.
My husband laughed at all the Eric parts. I just wanted to do his laundry, seriously he could wait in my living room. But I want Sookie to clean. When she was on the couch crying, I was like Sookie honey, you know what I do when I'm sad? I clean, baby. It makes me feel better. Let's clean something, k?
I'm surprised that Bill told Sookie the truth about the Rattrays. He could have lied.
I liked that Eric told Sookie I would have never given you to Russell. And when he said i'm sorry that you're suffering but you deserved to know the truth.. That was SO book Eric. HEEEEY wait guys. *lightbulb* Maybe AB FINALLY got around to reading the damn books? You think?
Dallas that is fantastic!!!!!
Ahh book Eric. hope it stays
Or, maybe he realized that fucking with CH's Eric fan base will screw him over.
I know the story is really different, but it does sorta get us to the beginning of DTTW. Sookie is pissed at Bill (although it's for Bill trying to procure her and letting her get beaten) and she's rescinded every vamps' invitation. I know AB will probably screw the story three ways til Sunday, but as long as he keeps the core faithful to the books, I just might not complain too loudly.
And we'd better get our shower scene, dammit!
OH YES! SHOWER SCENE IS NON-NEGOTIABLE. AB MUST know that.
But she is also mad again at him draining her, remember she said to him "Watch him, we all know he could lose control."
Yeah Eric was half dead and yet HE didn't try to devour her like a vile monster.
I got super pissed when B/S had a shower scene earlier this season, but they did bathe together in the books, so I guess it wasn't too far off the mark. I just know that AB will have some very angry ladies breathing down his neck if he screws us on the E/S shower.
So it was the giant chandelier that woke sookie up? Or did Bill give her more blood?
I wished that Eric could have healed her instead of Bill .
It was the chandelier. I think they cut some stuff out for time because it made no sense.
She had to heal Eric though. I liked the way it all played out. I don't think I would have changed a thing, I never thought I would say that. Well nothing about the Bill Sookie Eric stuff that is.
AP/Sookie rocked tonight. If character evolution is at all possible on this show, then we should get Book Sookie next year.
I really hope they tone down all the many storylines going on. It's out of hand. Jason is a supporting character. He's just Sookie's brother that is ALL. Sam is her Boss. Tara is her BFF. They are SUPPORTING characters. Which means they should be used to support the storyline of the MAIN characters which are Sookie, Eric and unfortunately Bill. It seem like AB wants it to be an ensamble show. WTF is this Friends? Even on that show the cast worked together within the episodes. This is just chaos. AB says AP would have to work too many hours if they did it like the books. Uh.. It's a ONE hour show with only 12 episodes per year. I think she could handle it. Not that I only want to see AP.. But this whole we need all of these characters on the frontline is just insane.
Did Tara really leave? I thought she was just going to see Sam and say sorry for losing it on him earlier.
I don't think Tara will really leave since she's signed for next year. But that looks like what they were suggesting.
Agreed Kelli. I kept wanting to mute the Tara, Sam and Jason scenes. Even Lafayette is boring me.
Let's see, she had that convo w/Sam (which I will admit I didn't listen to like I should have), then she seemed to be saying 'goodbye' to her mother and Sookie, and she chopped her hair off 'for a change.' I think it will follow her trying to leave things behind. No guess on how successful that will be.
The only scenes that really worked were the vamp scenes. Lala is boring now too.
I didn't catch that Tara was leaving. I must have zoned out. I tend to do that during her scenes....lol
Maybe Tara finds out that Sam might have shot his brother. I thought for sure they would have shown her drive by. Guess we won't find out till next year. Didn't she tell Sookie she would be back later. Now Sookie is missing.
Or if she[Tara] leaves, we will have to watch her go on the road to find herself. To get her groove back, her ya-ya, whatever.
That was my thinking!
She looked insincere when she told Sookie she'd be back.
Although, it will be damn boring if a large chunk of next season is devoted to 'How Tara Got Her Groove Back.' I would like a lot of focus on Eric and Sookie, for goodness' sake!
I like they way RE was egging Sookie on to use her powers. She also threw him into the fence. I don't know if means anything but my son noticed it was a different color light. Have to see it again.( repeat in 3 mins).
I need to watch it again too I feel like I missed a lot.
Did anyone watch the blood cast thing afterwards?
Ah forgot about that. Didn't see it. But I taped it.
That was an online live chat. I figured they wouldn't reveal anything important, so I didn't go looking for it.
shut the fuck up and die please
lol
Goats LOL
I love the one liners in this show
It was yellow light not white. hmmmm
RE is still great when he's burning up and crispy.
I know, he really kills it. Though looking at him all crispy made me a bit sick.
Didn't she also have a blue one too?
Bill was so pissed while Sookie was feeding Eric. I love that face he made, glorious
As a theatre geek, I thought the ashy face was one of the best makeups this season. I want to know how to create that effect so I can teach it to my kids this year in drama.
I LOVE LOVE LOVE that SA told him not to be a sourpuss
Evil sneaky Bill more interesting. Yeah crispy make a great Halloween costume too. Also liked that she wouldn't let Eric go back outside again. Love SA's dress. with the peeks of red. What did RE spit up?
a fang
Eric needs to give that to Nan
ewwwwwwwwww ok
Oh yeah, Chelsea. THAT was convenient. I hope he took that from RE.
he did I just hope he doesn't make a necklace out of it lol.
So I think really bad shit is going to happen to Hoyt and Jessica in that house. Does Bill even care where she is? That doll is bad news.
LaLa can read Sam's mind?
I can't believe they killed Calvin actually.
Loved Eric covered in cement - and thanks for those of you who caught the cement in my hair reference by Pam - to clue us in that she saved him. It was bothering me on the drive home couldn't figure out how he got out - duh.
Ball really pinned the spirit of the Bill Spills scene with Eric there apologizing to Sookie for her hurt, but knowing it was for the best - that she knew the truth about Bill and his motives.
The doll I think is from Summer. I always thought she was a witch since the reference of her antiquing (like Russell the antique dealer, the druid) and her collection of scary dolls. I think she will be part of Hallow's coven for season 4.
I hope the Queen survives. I love her. And I wonder if Hadley will ever return.
What do you guys think about Holly and Jesus? Good magic, bad magic?
Hot Shot is really sad looking. It is way more messed up then in the books.
I know Jason probably seems like a genius to the Hotshot community, but seriously, what's he gonna do for them?
Did you see the chunk of Calvin's head fly off?
Good one on Summer being a witch but I think she seems so God loving could she really be a witch?
Maybe the God-loving is an act, or she has a secret life as a witch.
Either way bad things are to come for Jessica and Hoyt, they are so happy and we all know true blood couples can't stay happy and safe for long.
. Didn't expect that. But I hate the way they have Hot Shot. It is so messed up. At least in the books the kids went to school but kept to themselves.
After I saw the doll I figured Summer might be a witch.
I love Jessica and Hoyt together too. But they will be screwed with for sure.:)
I thought Hot Shot was messed up in the books too. CH's description of it is like The Crossroads.
And they just had to get another pair of dirty tighty whities in the show this season.
I kind of thought Voodoo doll when I saw it in the house. The kind of thing that if they throw it away and it has some connection with the house it could be real bad. IDK, Summer as a witch would be something different though.
I thought it came with the house so to speak like you're saying Dallas. Like the house is cursed.
It wasn't as bad as the way TB is showing it. They didn't wear rags as clothes. From what I remember Sookie said it was the crossroads, she picked up at how different it felt there. Just a bit poorer than Bon Temps. Calvin did have the nicest house. Calvin had a good job and health insurance.
Yeah I said voodoo doll earlier.
BTW Bill at the cement scene was so lame. When he was like mad as a hatter I just laughed at him.
mad hatter -lol
She really needs to clean that house. Surprise there aren't animals trying to get in?
Where would Tara even go, she doesn't have any money.
I keep hoping the TB Calvin is like the nephew of our Calvin and just named after him, cause remember Calvin was Crystal's uncle. I HATE that AB felt because EVERYONE has to be screwed in the head they had to make Calvin trash. I loved Calvin in the books.
OMG, Mary YES. She needs to clean. Don't go to the cemetary. Talk to Gran while you clean, although if she were there she would whip your ass for letting her house look like that.
Wow, for those in Toronto, Tara became Natasha Eloi! Love the hair.
they said fuck like 10 times tonight.
Sookie even went to see him in the hospital when he got shot. He helped Jason when he turned. Bill can't fly hehe
Maybe Maxine will try to shoot jessica but hoyt will jump in front of her and then he will be made a vampire.
Oh maybe Jessica will come to tell Bill all about her night and kill the queen trying to save Bill.
I gave him amuch worse punishment, I don't think Pam would see Bill losing Sookie as worse then death.
I'm not sure why Sookie yelled at Eric in that last scene. I understand she is hurt but just that same day she saved his life, and she was about to tell Bill that Eric would never kill her. Why was she so mad all of a sudden?
Bill is so greedy.. I thought that too. Maxine trying to shoot Jessica.
why would Sookie go back outside?? Bill or the Queen could have been waiting. Pam wouldn't like that. She's probably just tired. I think she still cares for Eric.
Hope that makes sense. I need to go to sleep now. Nice talking with all of you.
And why didn't RE burn up quicker. Continuity issues - I think Godric was 2000 years old and RE was 3000. Godric told Eric and Sookie that it wouldn't take long, due to his age. But all that RE did was become partially barbecued.
I'm glad that Godric found peace after all, it was what he wanted. In Season 1 Bill told Sookie he couldn't levitate, yet here he is. Lying or just bad writing?
why didn't RE burn up quicker
Godric hadn't had her blood.
Oh yeah, duh, forgot about that..... What was I watching 2 weeks ago, LOL
Continuity issues - I think Godric was 2000 years old and RE was 3000. Godric told Eric and Sookie that it wouldn't take long, due to his age. But all that RE did was become partially barbecued.
Kris, my fiance said, "Maybe it's Sookie's blood that makes the difference." I'm not buying it, but I guess it's conceivable.
Woo, Penny, you beat me to it.![]()
Maybe I typed faster Pey.
The more I think about it, the more I hate that little twist AB's added about Sookie's blood allowing vamps to "walk in the sun."
I was also thinking that maybe Bill takes off to Peru next season (nod to the books) because he has to hide out - haha. He doesn't seem to have any friends left.
It's hard to be Bill!!
I hadn't considered that, but it would be great if he did. I just don't think AB would have his precious Bill gone for most of the season.
Oh, and AP, great call on Tommy not being able to read. I remember you mentioning that several weeks back.
(Just have to gloat for a sec because I'm never right.) Yay! for the most part, the episode played out like I thought it would.
Loved how evil Sookie looked when she was putting Talby in the garbage disposal. Definitely the BOOK Sookie.
Loved RE's lines. From the time he was arguing with Eric while they were burning all the way to the time he was screaming when Talby was being drained. lol.
I really am not liking Sam's storyline. Jessica/Hoyt's story is cute but the doll was creepy and definitely a foreshadow to something not good.
I'm wondering if Lala will have something to do with helping Eric get his memory back. Or fighting off the bad witches.
The most shocking revelation in the book is Bill letting the Rattrays beat Sookie up. I LIKED THAT! That would've been good to have read that in the books. Give Sookie even more reason to never go back to Bill.
And haha! Bill making wisecracks while Eric was screaming at RE reminded me of a kid that just followed the cool kids around and just agreed with everything they said.
The ending was soooo anticlimactic! And I honestly think this is the worst season of the series. I'm just hoping that S3 is just a build-up for S4 stories.

You're gonna love this! BILL BEWARE. I am sure AB is a convert! LOL
LOL! Karla, you always find the most awesome things! Did you notice the brown sticker slighty above it that read 'stole your woman'? Talking about foreshadowing.
Watching the episode atm on the most early but crappy server. I could watch Sookie slap Bill over and over and OVER again. But the best part? Ripping the door open to run out to Eric without caring that the sunlight burned Bill slightly. HAH!
I loved how tender Eric was drinking from her... and i loved how quickly he was back in charge.
Sookie dumping Talbot... priceless. I wonder what RE was mumbling. Did he (druid) curse her?? At one point, he called her a stupid bitch in german, but with a very broken accent. Couldn't make out the rest.
Tara, Sam... Lala... boring! I wish i could just skip those scenes to have the rest load faster -.-
Loved Hoyt of course. He deserves to be happy![]()
Karla, that is so funny. I love Eric's tussled, cement-caked hair. You're gonna love the exchange between him and Pam in that scene.
Anyhow, I just finished watching the episode. I don't remember who brought it up earlier, but the supporting storylines just don't hold up very well. My fiance rolled his eyes through most of them because those scenes dragged. And, frankly, the dialogue was just so BAD. The bit involving Felton, Calvin, Crystal, and the rest of Hot Shot was laughable. Resorting to bad stereotypes much?
Fortunately for us, Pam is as delightful as ever. She's one of the remaining reasons I still sit through each episode. Her comment about taking Reuben out reminded me of Pam from Book 4 and Book 8. That vamp kicks ass and you better damn well remember it. I love the look Eric gives to her when she says she has "zero patience for that shit."
Speaking of little shits, Bill just keeps digging himself deeper, doesn't he? His little martyrdom speech was so tedious. I can't believe Sookie actually sat through that.
I love when the other characters in the show make fun of Bill. Talbot mentioned how square Bill was, and now SA tells him he's dreary. And then Tara told Sookie that she was like one of those women in the sad country songs who goes back to her abusive lover.
Ohhh... Eric re-enters around 32:10! And he does wear that velvet tracksuit PLUS the red sneakers. Did i mention i love those on him? I think i did
hmmmmmm~ ![]()
Yeah, I liked it on him too.
I liked his cement look too. I bet both Denis and Alex loved the fun makeup they had on.
LOL! "Are you finished eye-fucking each other" Every time i think i couldn't love Eric more... he goes and kills it. It's so wrong to cheer at some fictional character and yet i just wooohooo-ed at my pc-screen.
(All right, ladies, I'll write more tomorrow. Fiance is dragging me off to bed, a la Eric dragging Russell... kicking and cursing. 'Night all.)
Wow... how hawt is cerment Eric? I think i got a new fetish. I think that scene on Sookie's porch was the most rewarding one of the whole show so far. This is it BLs!! How nasty is that rattrays-truth? Not even CH intended it that way. Maybe this twist is the replacement for the missing trunkscene.
'I want my phone back'... oh Eric. ![]()
I also liked that Eric made fun of RE losing his fang.
So was that Chucky they left on the floor in Hoyt's house?
what was that doll in hoyt's house? is it suppose to lead the way for hallow and the necromancing? and jesus being a witch, who is a nurse, and a guy...hahahahaha what exactly is lafayette anyways? another witch? i agree that all the side stories were dragging esp those with tara...isnt her mom such a hypocrite, talking all about god and stuff yet here she is commiting adultery with a minister for christ sakes! i am just surprised that tara didnt rub that in her face, but then again she looks like she is gonna leave bon temps...
shame on sam...what is his problem anyways? i dont like his evil and troubled look, he is supposed to be dependable, good ol' sam...now he's a murderer and a wack job...
cement eric was hot!!!!!! crazy bill not...
So was that Chucky they left on the floor in Hoyt's house.
LOL! Chucky creeped me out so bad.
Ok so it doesn't look like Bill is a bigshot with the AVL. That was always a BL wetdream.
this sucks!!! gotta wait a whole year for the next season...whyyyyyyy???!!!!!
what does bill have to do with AVL?
It was a stupid BL fantasy designed to enhance his importance, since they couldn't accept that he was going to be revealed as an asshole this season. They figured all his supposed bad behavior was really as an undercover agent. It was even an official prediction at true-blood.net.
that end was utterly underwhelming. Sookie being zapped away? That's a cliffhanger? *yawn*
I hope SA off's Bill in that ridiculous matrix-style fight. What a boring way to end that season.
I agree with you guys, we will probably have to wait till mid season 4 for AE
And it looks like the rig that AS was wearing under his shirt wasn't for blood, but for steam (mist), probably CO2.
LOL! Chucky gives me the willies. No wonder I didn't like that doll.
I really wish CH would release her next book during TB's hiatus. This would help quench our thirst for Eric.
Oh, and everything about Eric in this episode was HOT!
Oh great! I'm wondering it it'll be Debbie that helps free RE next season.
Oh great! I'm wondering it it'll be Debbie that helps free RE next season.
ohh good thought! I can totally see that.
Some more random observations:
- If Bill was serious about killing Eric, why bother with the cerment? Stake him while he's weak from the silver?
- Eric is such a devil. Instead of physically going after bill after that cerment-attack, he instead hurt him where it hurt Bill the most. I SO wanna see a showdown between those 2 next season.
- How on earth does Bill think he could best SA? I'm wondering why we haven't seen her name back for season 4?
- Even though Eric wanted to sacrifize himself for Sookie and everyone else... there was no open animosity from Pam towards Sookie. Pam knew were Eric had the key... couldn't see take Sookie's blood too and attempt to rescue her maker? Didn't she try at least because of Bill? She told Eric before she'd do anything to keep him save. Sloppy writing?
- Did i miss anything or why did Bill mention SA in his list of people he wants to kill for Sookie? I thought at this point, Sookie didn't already know about SA and her plans?
- Did Eric really set Alcide free of his debt?? Maybe this Alcide/Eric fight that was hinted at in Alcide's casting call is something that might happen over Debbie?
Questions questions...
is it to lame to say that I actually liked AP/Sookie this time?! I really think it was the only episode the whole season that she actually showed some spine ad some book sookie acting.
Not at all. She was definitely closer to book Sookie.
I like that Debbie was mentioned. We still need her for the ending of AE.
I didn't like Alcide's role in this one. I felt like they just brought him back to remind us he is going to play a role next season, but if you read the books you know that and if you didn't read the books well then your lazy ass can wait and see if he comes back. I just don't get why they needed his truck, I know they buried RE on his contracting company's site but that could have been handled over the phone. Also was Sookie trying to play coy once she found out Alcide was only there because Eric called him? I was totally right that he wouldn't really be there because of Sookie, but I'm not happy about it. I really didn't understand his purpose.
Let me know if I have this right, Bill was suppose to bring Sookie to SA, But now he wants to get rid of every vampire that would want Sookie's blood. That's why he tried to get rid of Eric. In other words greedy Bill wanted to keep Sookie all to himself so only he can walk in the sun with her. How was he going to pull that off? Not that there are a whole lot of different vampires in TB world.
.
- Did i miss anything or why did Bill mention SA in his list of people he wants to kill for Sookie?
Bill mentioned the queen specifically. The queen told Bill she wants to walk in the sun. Bill is trying to protect sookie from anyone who would want to use her for this purpose. The fae are rare and addictive too.
@vampaholic: it was the last of the debt - Alcide had the cement truck, the cement, and eric and bill had the intent - they wanted to put russell somewhere secure. Alcide served the part of the logistics. Providing a service for them.
- Did i miss anything or why did Bill mention SA in his list of people he wants to kill for Sookie?

Yeah, but was Sookie even aware of SA wanting her at this point already? In TB, they haven't met before and noone really told her about SA, did they? I'm confused because i'm re-reading DTTW atm, lots of FF and trying to keep up with TB![]()
- Did i miss anything or why did Bill mention SA in his list of people he wants to kill for Sookie
I noticed that too, Silke. Sookie isn't technically supposed to know about that yet, right? In fact, Eric shows up to spill the beans right after Bill makes his grand, "I love you so much I would kill every vamp who finds out about you" speech. Sookie only knows that Eric, Pam, and RE have that knowledge of what she is and her blood being vampire sunblock. Maybe it's a continuity error. Maybe it's just laziness on the part of the writers.
Okay.. so I waited until today to actually write something on here about the season finale because I wanted to give myself time to process what just happened. I'm in a little bit of shell shock from actually getting something from AB that is close to the books. As lame as I thought it was for a season finale (which it was.....super anticlimatic and for lack of a better word lame) having Beeeeyullll come out as the asshole that he is,and having Eric being the one that outed him is PHE-NOMENAL!
I also liked how Sookie seemed to be smart enough to realize that even after everything Eric wouldn't ever kill her, and that he deserved to be saved. Maybe we will get some decent E/S moments yet! ...one can hope.
When Bill cries it makes me want to vomit. He looks disgusting, and at this point everything about him revulses me.
I don't really care about any other aspect of the shows story lines right now, they all drag and seem like they are grasping at straws to keep the other characters on the show.
RE was magnificent as always. Eric looked sexy as hell EVEN covered in cement. and AP didn't make me want to scream and claw my eyes out for once. so... I'm not gonna complain .![]()
OMG! No more St Bill! That alone made the episode epic!
Paging Mari--> We need St. Bill to 'drown' in a cerment grave! Can't he stumble into a construction side or something?![]()
I loved how Eric told Sookie not to stake RE. Denis O'Hare was so good. Gonna miss RE next year.
Yeah the Giant chandelier startles Bill, and he ends up in a cement grave.
Maybe SA beats the crap out of Bill so he has to leave next season to heal, or she sends him off as punshiment. If SA is still around, will she still be trying to get to Sookie for her blood? Guess Sookie will need a Viking to protect her....
Either way I hope that they send Saint Beeyull to Peru. and I LOVED the Eric one liners tonight. "or when you two are done eye fucking each other, can we go?" and telling Sookie not to stake RE was also fabulous.
I loved the emotion you could see in his eyes when he was telling Sookie that he would never have given her up to Russell. Maybe she will start to realize that he's always been completely honest with her unlike Bill.
OH! and I for one will be sooo sad if they kill off SA. I finally think that she has come into her character, and i would Love to see Rhoades played out on screen.
I think it's interesting that AB drops all these little nuggets for E/S fans in just the first three minutes. Sookie wants to know where Eric is. When Pam tells her that Eric is "outside, burning" and Bill explains what Eric is doing, Sookie reacts desperately: "What?... I can't let him do that!... I won't let you do this." What I find more interesting is that RE calls Eric "your precious Viking." He recognizes what exists between Sookie and Eric, even if Sookie doesn't quite realize it yet.
Sookie/AP must have had a hell of a time dragging Eric/AS inside. Last season, she pushed him off of her, saying, "I can't breathe. You weigh a ton."
I to would love to see Rhoades play out too. Eric finally had alot of Sookies blood finally. Now we need her to have more of his.
OHH good point about RE recognizes things between E/S. She had fairy help so it kinda looked like she had no problem dragging Eric in.
She had fairy help so it kinda looked like she had no problem dragging Eric in.
Mary, I think it's funny that for all of Sookie's protestations last season, she had no problems pulling Eric inside. The difference being that she really has feelings for him now. And, Alex is a giant of a man, it couldn't have been easy for someone as small as Anna to move him. I hope she didn't scrape up Alex's fine butt pulling him across the ground in such a manner.![]()
Maybe they put a skateboard under him so he can just roll on in, to protect his assets.
I had read that they used skateboards to make them move fast. When they had to leave Fangtasia in the first season with the raid.
Yes I read that too, to make it look almost as if they were flying smoothly rather than jogging up and down as you would if you ran. I always thought the 'you weigh a ton' was Sookie being a bit embarassed to find herself under Eric.
When ever I remember that scene it feels really weird to me, how likely is it that Eric would end up on top of Sookie with them both facing towards the bomb? He was behind her when Luke set the bomb off, surely instinct would be to get in front of her facing towards her to knock her flat and cover her, or to spin her round behind him and push her down but not both facing towards the source of the danger.
That would make sense. I forgot how it was in the books. I think they were sitting on the sofa, next to her, she was all beat up. He also jumped in front of her when Debbie tried to shoot her too. I wonder if they will show that scene, that is a very important one too. Seems like they are always facing danger head on..
Wow, I just watched it. What a snooze fest.
AP was actually pretty good this ep. She looked really demented when she flushed Talbot but honestly, the episode was like the entire season a whole lotta filler & no killer.
It's just great marketing but it's actually a really boring & flat show.
Oh did anyone think Tara was saying her goodbye's in order off herself? Ah..who cares anyway. Nice haircut. That was so ridiculous. Her hair was miraculously free from her extremely tight braids & she had perfect, although large, bob.
I was pissed they had Tara apologize for being a bitch to Sookie. Say wha?
Oh who posted this?

There's also stickers that say "the end" right next to "stole your woman" & "SVM"
Oopps..I think it's actually SVW...
its SYW actually as in stole your woman, I think that is supposed to be a band name.
Ahh!! Well then - then I think it's the end of Bill & Sookie. All the stickers seem to be beating us with a sledgehammer.
hell yea they are. I wonder if they were diff earlier in the season.
Maybe they put a skateboard under him so he can just roll on in, to protect his assets.
I can just imagine when she was doing it, the director calling out," Watch his ass, watch his ass. Careful." LOL And I figured it was an adrenaline thing. Not just that she obviously feels something for him, but that it was to prove to Bill that she does what she wants to do. Like FU Beyull, I'll get him myself.
When she said you don't own me, all I could think of was that song and the movie first wives club where they sing it lol.
Here's Ken Tucker's review of the episode: http://watching-tv.ew.com/2010/09/12/true-blood-season-finale-review-evil-is-going-on-and-on-and-on/#more-11778 .
If they cut out the Sam and Jason storylines and just kept the Hoyt/Jessica, Lafayette/ Jesus, Terry/Arlene (only because I love Terry) and of course most of all Eric & Sookie with lots of Pam I'd be verra verra happy.
Exactly! Except Arlene is actually growing on me.
I could have also done without seeing Sookie running in a white dress TWICE (wonky arm and all). Sookie changing into a white dress for a quick run to the graveyard is weird.
I hope Tara runs away and never comes back. Bet she stole Sam's safe. I really miss Franklin. Sam cooked breakfast in bacon grease and he didn't put any bacon on her plate. He's boring and a jerk.
Andy should have chugged that V vial - liven things up a bit.
Finally! Some Bill and Eric drama that is more believable, "Saint Bill" dragged on too long.
Best Moment of the whole episode: When Ginger washed Talbots glass jar out! OMG that was so funny. "Peanut butter and butter sandwhich"? Maybe she's Alan Ball's version of Bubba.
The Queen rocked! I hope she kicks Bill's ass all the way out of town. He needs someone to put him in his place.
But, I bet they strike a deal instead. The Queen isn't really a widow yet. So she won't inherit enough money to pay off her debts. I wonder if she will be upset with Eric or not.
What if Bill has to hide Sookie from the Queen at Eric's place instead of the other way around. Alan Ball did say someone would have amnesia, right? Did he say who? Bill better not get beat up so bad he forgets his name! haha. Hopefully, it will be Eric with a spell on him like the books. My Guess is Lala puts a spell on him, so he forgets about the V sales.
There is one part I don't understand. The part where Eric says he will go to get RE from the sun...then he and Bill have a bit of an exchange where they both show fang, and then sookie says she will go out. I don't understand why Eric and Bill show fang at that point? Is it over the fact that Eric just tasted Sookie again?
That part confused me too. I thought it was because Eric offering to go9 get him put Sookie in danger again. Not killing him was a bad idea for sure. Also Eric kind of knew that Sookie wouldn't let him go back out into the sun an risk burning again, so he was playing her a bit. Bill probably realized that aspect too. I did like the little fang off moment thoguh.
Oh not to mention Sookie just saved Eric against Bill's wishes and that pissed Bill off cause he knows Sookie likes Eric.
I hope Tara runs away and never comes back.
Maybe she finally leaves and opens her own boutique.
One can only hope. Of course, with the way people in Bon Temp dress on the show, I'm not sure she'd really have any customers.
I have been waiting so long for Tara's togs!
Tara Togs! that's so perfect!
with the way people in Bon Temp dress on the show, I'm not sure she'd really have any customers.
Well, maybe if they had a few choices besides Walmart and the sporting goods store.
But ya know, TB Tara's wardrobe seems to consist mostly of tank tops and shorts. Maybe she'll open a liquor store or a beauty shop now she's into cutting hair.
Sam cooked breakfast in bacon grease and he didn't put any bacon on her plate. He's boring and a jerk.
LOL!!!! I looked for the bacon!!!
He cooked pancakes in bacon grease? I totally missed that. Ewww.
OY!! 325 posts... I have been out of the loop! I was disappointed in the epi, but glad that Bill was finally outed. Too little, too late really, and he OF COURSE has wiggle room to spin it, but loved Eric flicking cement out of this ears forcing Bill to fess up! Jason - WTF?!! It's not enough for him to find a backbone and try to be a good brother, he has to become the protector of "Deliverance Central"?! Tara... who cares? Sam... who cares? And Sookie going dark? That was just weird - the look of cruel enjoyment as she dumped Talbot down the garborator was just weird. I can't figure out what the hell they're doing, and I'm starting to not care...![]()
(Now I have to go back and read all your posts! I'm sure you were much more articulate than me!!)
hoe cakes, 'cause I'm geussing hoes don't get bacon at Sam's house.;)
Jessica said Hoyt's new house smells funny when she entered. Since she's a baby vamp she doesn't know witches. (plus the doll)
Maybe that's where Hallow was staying?
I was wondering if Bill arranges somehow for Eric's amnesia so Eric would forget Sookie is a fairy.
I was wondering if Bill arranges somehow for Eric's amnesia so Eric would forget Sookie is a fairy. What a great idea!! Oh, I would really love for that to happen. Bill would turn into an even bigger jerk by taking his memories, and we get all the good amnesia scenes!!!!!!
"You slaughtered my entire family for a couple of goats." LOL.
I wonder what the symbolism of the UFO Chandelier was.
Forgiveness is love, love is all. Only peace follows death for all. Wise words coming from a conscience, Godric.
Sam feeding Tara pancake, and admitting he's a shapeshifter. Uhm, what for? Tara's mom screwing the pastor. For happiness? Tommy taking money from Sam. Sam shooting Tommy, who can't fucking read. Tara cutting her hair, ooh, nice one, and running away from BT. Ok, moving on.
Jason, Andy and Hotshot. Crystal going with Felton. How much more stupid can these three get? Arlene, Terry and Rosemary's Baby. Moving on.
Hoyt's crew cut look is hot. And finally standing up to his control-freak of a mother is hot. Aww, I'm so happy for him and Jessica. What's the connection of the doll? Is that a voodoo doll of a witch? Maybe that's what was smelling funny.
What's with Lala and his visions? Jesus is a witch. Big surprise.
That was a great slap, Sookie Stackhouse!!! "You fucking betrayed me, again! You do not own me." What's with the use of fuck? She said it like 3x within 2 minutes.
So vampires can't really move when they're exposed to the sun. Ok, she dragged Eric inside Fangtasia on her own. No Alcide in sight. Wait, who gave her blood? Are we assume it's Beeyull? Of course. It had to be.
Sookie feeds Eric! Did you notice the tender look she gave him when she put her arm on his lips? And how she's darting her dagger eyes to Bill? I love this!!!
"Eric, do the world a favor and let the little fuck fry. I have zero patience with that shit." That Pam. There's too little of her in this finale. Alcide was also just put in so we can assume that he's in S4. He didn't really need to be there. Eric could have taken RE to any cement factory if he wished.
It's just lame that they had to use Godric to save Russell. For forgiveness and peace? Come on. It's like listening to a church sermon.
So that's where Sookie and the chains come in. She is so Book Sookie in this episode. Actually even in the last one, when Bill and she were in the car. Cruel girl, dragging a toasted RE with a silver chain by the neck! "Don't even think about it, bitch."
I love RE, as always. Sookie was reading Star mag with RE on the cover, sitting on Eric's throne. I love AP in this episode! Finally, she feels her character. Borderline crazy at times, especially the evil laugh, but this is better than poor-me Sookie. Goodbye Talbot, who knew you'll be going down the drain...
Sookie's flirting with Alcide in Fangtasia! Winner. Eric in a tracksuit!!! "If you two are finished eye-fucking each other..." Oh my Lord. I love the dialogues in this episode.
Oh fuck you, Bill! You two-faced, back-stabbing son of a bitch! I hate you. Thank you for showing his true colors, Mr. Ball. I love it that Sookie believes Eric wouldn't harm her. She must see now who really cares for her. OMG, Bill let her be beaten up by the Ratts? Unforgiveable. Stop the clown tears, Bozo. Good thing Eric showed up in time, I can see Sookie being swayed again by the I will never love anyone as I have loved you spiel.
"I want my phone back." LOL! "I'm sorry to see you suffer like this, I thought you had the right to know." That is so Book Eric!!! Club Dead, hospital scene! Might not be the exact words, but it's the thought that counts!
I love SA's widow outfit! Bill, you are so arrogant thinking you can kill the queen, kill Eric, and Pam in one night.
Poor Sookie. This is the consequence of loving a scumbag like Bill.
Whoa. That's it?! The fucking ending is Sookie being taken by the light to Fae?! I loved the episode, but the ending?!
Oh well, another 9 months before Season 4. It's like being pregnant every year. So they have to show what happens between Bill and SA. How RE will get out of his cement tomb. How Eric will have amnesia, and why. There are only two suspects to have Hallow (or Jesus? Lala?) curse him - Bill or RE. Who knows, maybe they gang up on him.
I'm excited to see how Eric and Sookie's relationship will come to play. They have to have THE Shower Scene next year. It's not going to be Book 4 without it.
I only peeked at some of the BL postings about the episode. I've been having vertigo and can only read a little online right now (changeable weather in the spring and fall triggers vertigo). I'd rather spend my limited time here. But I'd have to guess that being beaten to within an inch of her life to get Bill's blood into her trumps Eric and the bullet sucking. Although I did see some postings saying Bill couldn't help what he did to her. Delusional much?
Jessica said Hoyt's new house smells funny when she entered. Since she's a baby vamp she doesn't know witches. (plus the doll)
Great catch! Wondering now if they might tie the Rosemary's baby theme in with Jessica and Hoyt.
What's with the use of fuck? She said it like 3x within 2 minutes.
It's annoying, it makes her sound even more stupid. Don't they have more of an imagination when it comes to southern swearing.
It's just lame that they had to use Godric to save Russell. For forgiveness and peace? Come on. It's like listening to a church sermon.
Amen to that! They laid it on a bit thick.
I was waiting to see Eric and Alcide in the same room together. I wanted a look at the both of the tall hunks, and they never really played that up in close proximity.
I'm gratified that the sanctimonious self-righteous Bill was revealed to be sanctimonious and self-righteous. It's really easy to see that all Bill really wanted was to keep her to himself.
What a hypocrite.
I'd love to see Eric,Hoyt and Alcide in the same room. Actually how about a line up.
Who's Reuben, btw?
Eric's assassin's
I'm gratified that the sanctimonious self-righteous Bill was revealed to be sanctimonious and self-righteous. It's really easy to see that all Bill really wanted was to keep her to himself.
But they left him with a Saint Bill out! He almost had her forgiving him again until Eric showed up and outed him about the procuring and the Rattrays. (I always wondered about that actually. Wonder if it's just AB's fevered imagination or it came from CH) Bill was still trying to spin it that he has fallen in love and will go to the ends of the earth for her - very book Bill "Know this: I would die for her!". It's obvious to us that he's full of shit, but AB has set it up so he can still spin it... that pisses me off!
Also, everyone seems to think this was a return to book Sook. I don't know. It was a relief to see her slap Bill, tell him he doesn't own her. That was book Sookie, and using her head a bit more. However, I think they're playing with this whole "He will steal your light" thing. Turning her darker. The amount of cruelty she showed - reveling in RE's pain as she poured Talbot down the garborator, spraying a chained and injured Russell with liquid silver - was very unlike book Sookie to me. I am also concerned that they show her turning darker hand in hand with her showing feelings or a tendency towards liking and defending Eric. Anyone?!! Thoughts?
I'd love to see Eric,Hoyt and Alcide in the same room. Actually how about a line up.
Now that would be a good episode.
Book Sookie probably would have had RE turned over to the vampire police. (does TB even have that?) Or see what other punshiment he could have gotten. Like what Stan did to Hugo and Isabel. She did have an evil laugh when pouring Talbot down. She's always making sure everyone she cares for is safe.
I am wondering about the fariy stuff too. Just don't know about it.
About the Godrick sermon, It doesn't make sense. They are vampires. He only started to feel bad after 2000 years. Maybe TB just wanted to show that Eric does have feelings and cares about things.
Sookie doesn't know that Eric had the "ok" to kill RE.
I think it more served to make him look psycho and unstable. Will it turn into the "Eric and Godric" show with him having all these conversations with an "invisible friend"? lol
I think Godric showed up to give Eric a reason to not kill RE 'cause they want Denis O'Hare in S4. The reason was to make him suffer, because death would be too easy a release for him in Eric's opinion. So it also shows that Eric is still stuck on vengeance. He can't move forward until he gives up on the vengeance and forgives. Perhaps that will be a theme next season?
He will have forgotten about his vengeance etc. through amnesia and so is able to love and fall in love... it would be ironic if Bill sets Eric up to have amnesia thinking it will secure Sookie, but it actually paves the way for her to fall in love with Eric.
I can't figure out why Bill didn't just stake Eric when he had the chance. Other than the obvious, which is that they can't kill AS.
I think for Eric it will be and maybe Sookie too. I guess that Sookie taking care of AE will cause him to get more in touch with his kinder side.
Oh definitely that having Denis O'hare coming back. You beat me to it just going to say that About AE
I don't type fast HAHA
All Eric scenes.
it would be ironic if Bill sets Eric up to have amnesia thinking it will secure Sookie, but it actually paves the way for her to fall in love with Eric.
I like that!
Just Imagine - If Alan Ball had followed the book story line just a little bit we could have possibly seen Steve Newlin stake Sookie, Eric give her blood and make out with her followed by a really exciting gas station hold-up scene. That sounds so much more fun than watching Tara make breakfast with Sam.
That talking goat was hilarious!!!
I think it was because Bill grabbed Eric's hand as he was trying to go out to get RE. So Eric showed fang. Kinda stupid that Bill grabbed Eric's hand since vampires in the book don't even shake hands. But it's AB's world.
And besides, why wouldn't he want Eric to go out and get RE?
When RE said goats I lost it. LMAO. My son showed me all those goat videos last year. there are a lot .
haha I actually liked the banter between Eric and Sookie, especially when Eric told her to "go away," while he burns in the sun. hahaha!
So Bill is being a bad parent again by not telling Jessica about witches... So she must have smelled the magic in the house. Has Holly and her worked together yet. Wouldn't Jessica sense something different about her? Does she even know that same is a shifter?
The amount of cruelty she showed - reveling in RE's pain as she poured Talbot down the garborator, spraying a chained and injured Russell with liquid silver - was very unlike book Sookie to me. I am also concerned that they show her turning darker hand in hand with her showing feelings or a tendency towards liking and defending Eric.
Liann, that scene didn't sit well with me either. I enjoyed the part leading up to it, where Russell bargains with Sookie. The exchange cracked me up.
RE: MISS STACKHOUUUUUSE! I'd like to propose a deal.
S: Oh! This oughta be good.
RE: I will give you my word that I will not harm you or anyone you love.
S: Stepping around the fact that your word's worth as much as tits on a turtle? What else?
RE: One million dollars.
S: Five.
RE: Two.
S: Seven.
RE: OK, five,
S: What else?
....
S: ... And your house in Mississippi. I like that house.
RE: Done.
S: What do I have to do in return?
RE: *GROANS in frustration* Release me!
S: No.
I can see Book Sookie mocking RE for carrying Talbot around and maybe even getting rid of Talbot, but that laugh was more than a little disturbing. It was twisted. Book Sookie is fiercely protective of those she loves, but she's not mean. Cruelty underpinned TB Sookie's actions when she was cackling while running Talbot through the disposal. Hmm... I'll have to sit and think about that one.
Absolutely, Pey! It's off. How exactly is Bill stealing her light? Is it because he is drinking her blood? If they follow that logic then she can't be with any vamp. And if stealing her light makes her nature darker, does that mean that his becomes lighter? And then when you consider that they don't pay any attention to CH's mythology... hell, they don't even pay attention to their own mythology, you just know it doesn't even matter. They'll just turn around and do something else if it suits them. It's so frustrating!
It really annoys me that Sookie can now travel to the land of Fae. WTH? The books were still very firmly rooted in OUR world. Claudine and Claude decided to reside in the human world. Shapeshifters and Weres were humans with a genetic twist. Of course, there were other supernatural elements, but Sookie was human first and foremost. Instead of being a little more than human (as she was in the books), AB has given her magical fairy fingers, special vamp sunblock blood, and what else? She hasn't used her telepathic abilities in how long now? I really can't figure out where they are going with that.
Pey, not only did I think the ending was anticlimactic, I was also annoyed with her traveling Fae. Humans are not welcome in the Fae world; that's one of the main points of the fae wars. How do they plan on writing the fae war, if TB even makes it to a S9? What's the point in having her go to the fae world at the end of the season? The only thing I can guess is to harness her power to eventually help AE. They better have a good reason for allowing her into the fae world.
Well they already have a problem with the Hot Rain revenge plot for S5. They can't have Calvin get shot in the attack on shapeshifters, so with no Hot Rain, no Calvin, no Franklin Mott. Not much happening in S5. If they kill off SA there goes S6 and S7. S10 is fucked since they won't have Appius, and so far the fairies are just large versions of Tinkerbell. So I don't see Sookie getting tortured in S9.
Judy, the more I think about it, the more the TV series seems to be turning into one giant clusterfuck. AB clearly has no idea where this is going--the season finale seems to indicate as much.
Thanks, Mary! Will read it now.
Quoting from the io9 article:
Con: But first, it's vampire sleepy time. You know these vampires, specifically Eric, went many, many days this season without sleep. But on the day where they have their vampire who wants to kill them all, and is strong enough to do it, weakened and chained up to their stripper pole, TODAY is the day they prioritize getting 4 to 8 hours of sleep.
Pro: Bill delivers his "I have never loved" speech and starts looking very sexy again, in our eyes, and then BOOM Eric shows up in a cement-covered track suit and out-sexys Bill all over that damn mud house. Also another Pro for slipping one more track suit into this season. You make it look effortless Eric!
Con: Bill doesn't give Eric his phone back, dick.
Pro: Anyone else notice the fairy wings that appeared as Sookie was blasted off somewhere mysterious? Cute touch, a little Tinkerbell, but she is a fairy after all. I guess you gotta do like the fairies do. The next step must be ecstasy tabs and white leather pants for everyone.
They also called it a chandelier. I guess the image is hard to avoid.
It reminds me alot of the chandelier they used when I saw Phantom of the Opera on Broadway. It dropped down into the audience a bit and it looked just like it..lol. Maybe they're using old Broadway props for fairyland.
To me it was the mother ship in Close Encounters.
I thought that too.
Either way, WTF?
Indeed.
Just read this. Seems to sum it up. It's amazing how it's deteriorated in such a short space of time. The more it diverts from the true essence of the book the worse it gets. The way it's going I don't think there will be a season 5.
Obituaries: "True Blood" Season 3 Finale Killed by Alan Ball Disease
Alan Ball Disease, a chronic but highly treatable autoimmune disorder in which a television show eats itself alive from the inside out without treatment, at last claimed last night's season finale of "True Blood." Characterized by a rapid production of unrelated plotlines and an obsessive, almost paranoid attention to their pointless unraveling and their attending tableaux, Alan Ball Disease is now recognized as the number two killer of quality television. The prime issue in diagnosing Alan Ball Disease is denial. Throughout a television season, a producer and a viewer both engage in a strange dance of mutually-agreed obliviousness.
"There just couldn't possibly be too many plotlines in which the characters do not engage each other," everyone thinks, ignoring the horrible stench and rot. The signs of the disease are quite clear to a neutral third party, however, simply by viewing the "Last Week On…" opening teaser. When what is intended to be a simple refresher for regular watchers or a brief introduction for new viewers becomes twisted and gangrenous, this is a clear indicator of advanced Alan Ball Disease.

Since Judy was asking up-thread, I thought I'd post it here. There's this one crazy poster on the EW recaps who is a rabid BL. She's like this every freakin' week. I usually skip her posts, but I was curious to see how deep her denial runs. I'll be surprised at nothing after her defense of Bill following last night's episode. This is what she wrote. It's quite comical. It's in several parts.

Ok.....I love Beehl Compton! and Eric fans, this is not going to be pretty! Beehl has not done anything that cannot be forgiven. Beehl started out in Season One, following the orders of QSA and going to investigate a human girl named Sookie Stackhouse, find out where she is (his hometown) and "BRING HER TO ME!" said his Queen. QSA had info from Cousin Hadley that Sookie is part-fairy. QSA did not tell Beehl this piece, right? So, he did as he was told, he went to find Sookie waitressing at Merlotte's.....At that point she was JUST ANOTHER HUMAN! He did not love her, he did not care about her and he sure as hell was going to take her back to his Queen! That's why he set her up, let those freaks beat her up and gave her his blood to gain control of her (easier to get her back to QSA!). Okay.....it was AFTER all that when he started to develop feelings for her! Went to her house...got to know Gran...found how completely charming she is, and the powerful chemistry they shared, etc. etc.... So what Beehl did, he did BEFORE he fell in love with her! Yes, apologize for the deception, but also, put everything in the PROPER CONTEXT!
Beehl was never going to let Sookie die. His blood healed her completely. The point is, he had NO FEELINGS for her at that time, except as a curiousity, since his Queen was intrigued by her. Beehl did a lot worse with Lorena! So, he probably thought letting a "human" suffer a beating was pretty mild.
Yes, he proposed! Because, by now, he was completely, and utterly in love with her! Sookie had given him HOPE that maybe, just maybe, he could have a semi-normal existence! after living decade after decade with self-hatred, and horrific acts against human beings! He wanted to turn his back on everything from the past. And he had NO INTENTIONS of letting QSA or anybody else harm her. And that was BEFORE he knew she was a fairy! He wanted her for himself: "Miss Stackhouse...will you do me the honor of becoming my wife?"
Oh, I forgot.... yes, it all started out as manipulation on Beehl's part. But, now, look, Beehl is the one who has been manipulated! If he'd only stayed a big, bad vampire and dutifully did what his Queen had asked, not got involved with Sookie or Jason or any humans! he wouldn't be hurting right now. But he did get involved---he bought a ring! And yes, for me, he gets a pass! Even after all the lies, all the omissions! all the failings on his part--- because Beehl was trying to be better than his present dictated. Yes, he made mistakes. He was trying to hold on to his humanity!
Anyway, I'd post more of her comments here, but they are so delusional I simply can't stomach any more of them.
Yeah, just like it was ok for him to drain that poor old woman who already had one foot in the grave before he drained her, because he left her with a happy memory and a few bucks.
And somehow he spent decades hating himself, doing horrific acts against humans, but did nothing about it. Was he tied up in silver the whole time? Yeah poor Bill, he has no need to take responsibility for his own behavior.
Oh and goodbye to complaints about bullet-sucking.
You know, in hindsight, it surprised me that Eric was willing to shake hands with Bill at the construction site. Eric knows not to trust Bill. Hmm...
Eric had a look on his face for a second, but then he shook his hand. It just made Bill look even more obnoxious to take advantage of Eric that way.
Regarding Sookie's mysterious "light" ... i always interpreted that as her love, trust and innocence... the fairies did have something childlike (ok... retarded) to them. Getting involved with vampires and especially with Bill, Sookie gets caught up in maneuvering, politics, death threads... she learns a new side of life here, and that is robbing her innocence (dumping Talbot in the trash) and her love & trust (Bill, her crying to her grandma). I think this is why we got this fairy-intervention. AB mentioned in this thank-you clip that we get to see where Sookie goes and what happens with people who come back from there.
So either... she's being healed (would tie into those comments about people becoming happy and medicamentated in S4) OR... the fairies pull a preston on TB and make AE as a gift to Sookie... I know I'd love that![]()
![]()
I was also wondering why Bill didn't stake Eric. It's so obvious and the outcome of dumping him in cerment is again very James-Bond-villian-ish. I say it shows how cruel Bill can really be. Centuries of torture for someone who wanted to sacrifize himself for Sookie and everyone else instead of a quick, merciful death. BL's can say what they want, he isn't any better than Eric here.(And Eric didn't murder Bill's family to begin with......)
Also... Bill letting the Rattrays beat up Sookie is even more brutal and ruthless. I wouldn't go as far and say it's more brutal than the trunk scene, BUT he did it out of cold calculation, and not out of bloodlust & survival insinct.
what is AE? hahahaha i see it all over but what does it mean?
I really dont want to see debbie again unless they cut right to the scene where sookie shoots her...lol...
i am curious as to where the godric ghost came from? can it be from sookie's blood?
Amnesia -Eric ![]()
This is kinda far fetch but maybe Eric took Bills hand (even though vamps don't) because he might have known Bill was still up to something. This was Eric's way to actual way to out Bill. To make Bill tell Sookie. Eric needed the proof which was Bill throwing Eric in the cement. He knew so he warned Pam to be on alert.
Eric Knew Bill gave Sookie lots of blood the night of the Rattrays. He even mentioned that to Bill at SA house. Bill looked surprised that Eric knew. So Eric was protecting Sookie from then. Trying to find out why this was. He knew she was special and then he found out about the fae blood when he drank from Hadley. imo
The chandelier many thoughts passed . Close Encounters then ET space ship.
I think the handshake was just lazy writing on AB's behalf. He needed a plot device that would show Bill's treacherous nature- turning a gesture of friendship to a devious plan to off an ally who just saved his own ass (and the girl he supposedly loves).
I think Eric was definitely surprised. I know I was- I always had Bill pegged as a someone without the neccessary neurons to actually out maneuver anyone. Then again, based on the results of his foolhardy attempt to get rid of Pam and Eric, I think maybe I was right all along![]()
I have just one question and I didn't see it answered. What was up with that whole Matrix meets Crouching Tiger showdown between Bill and the queen?
Well, we already knew they had bad special fx when they had the "twisty head sex" scene. The dummy was sooo obvious it was hysterical! Bill and SA slowly hovering into attack position was straight out of a "On No, Vampire Bill" for me. Very funny, not scary...they looked like they were in the musical Peter Pan!! And if they had Saint Bill actually defeat a vamp twice his age... oh, who am I kidding, of course AB is going to write him defeating SA. He just got his ass kicked by Eric. AB won't let that happen again. He has to find a way to make him look strong again, and be actively "defending" Sookie, or at least that's how he likes to spin it.
Mary, thanks so much for posting the "pro/con" review!! Loved it as always. Two quotes that cracked me up:
"Crystal and Jason go to Hot Shot and all I hear is the Charlie Brown adult noise. Mwah mwah mwah, werepanthers mwah mwah muh wah V-juice." That's exactly it! My brain goes on hold. It's like Hotshot is the Bermuda Triangle of my consciousness or something.
Bill tells the King "he's mad as a fucking hatter". Bill sucks at insults!
Hahahahahahahaha...it is funny that they wrote him like that little dog in the Looney Tunes who kept running around the big bulldog - "yea Spike, that's right Spike, what you said Spike..." Lame!!!
LOL
Bill can levitate, but not fly, so that little Matrix / Couching Tiger move is all he's got going for him. But since there is no word about ERW being signed for next year, he may just be able to kill her. Then he'd have to go on the run since it's not nice to kill your queen.
But would he? I mean if she AND Russell AND the Magister are gone, who's in charge? It's a bit like the old west. Well, there is a sheriff but he's seeing hallucinations of his maker and doesn't seem to have the power that the book Sheriffs have. Will a new ruler move in? FDC? Will the "Authority" appoint someone or are they in chaos? The show is such a confusing mess!
Perhaps we were treated to 'nasty Sookie' because she's had a few more swallows of Bill's 'turn you into a basket case' blood just like Sam, who may have always had the potential to go postal on people but has managed to keep it pretty much under control in BT until now.
Or perhaps she's like the SVM fairies and can 'go either way' (mind out of the gutter gee! lol), Claudine was working her way upwards in good karma, perhaps Bill is pushing Sookie down the karmic ladder.
Good point about Bill's blood, Gee! We were thinking something like that weren't we? That it was his blood that was making her go all crazy and completely forget about anything but him?
Sam letting the dark side out now - as you were saying - after having a good dose of Bill's blood (clearly the dark side of Sam was there before) would certainly lend weight to the theory.
Also, Bill drained Sookie and then filled her back up with his blood. Forgetting the fact that she should be a vamp now (!), she should have been extra loopy. Then she was drained by Russell and Eric so Bill's blood taint should have been effectively removed. Then she sees the chandelier/mothership/fairylight which I am assuming healed her. (Something healed her well enough that she could go outside and drag a 200 plus pound vamp a long way into the club) When she woke up, it was like she was a different Sookie. Back to the "I don't take shit" girl she was at the beginning sooooo... maybe the removal of Bill's blood manually and the "fairy healing" worked to remove Bill's influence from her and let her think straight?
But are you thinking that Bill gave her blood to heal her and it made her turn darker, enjoying RE's torment etc.? Although, she seemed to snap out of her haze and even slapped Bill and called him out on not owning her...
(You know, it pisses me off because we try to figure things out, but TB doesn't even have a consistent mythology to use.)
I like this theory of Bill's blood making Sookie go crazy. Otherwise I have to continually hate every scene she is in this season until the very last episode where she is actually kind of fun to watch!
It's like Hotshot is the Bermuda Triangle LOL that's a good way to put it, and the Charlie Brown Adult noise is perfect.
Forgetting the fact that she should be a vamp now (!), she should have been extra loopy. Then she was drained by Russell and Eric so Bill's blood taint should have been effectively removed.
That, more than anything, ticks me off. It simply doesn't make sense with the amount of blood TB Sookie keeps losing and the huge infusions of Bill's blood she keeps receiving. This is really an exercise in futility since TB makes such a mess of this point, but let me track Sookie's injuries and the blood donations throughout the novels:
DuD: Rattrays beat Sookie to a pulp. Bill gives her "life-saving" infusion of his blood. He gives her blood again before they go meet Eric for the interrogation which results in Longshadow's final death. Convenient. Rene brutally attacks Sookie, within an inch of her life. She wakes up in the hospital and Bill is there.
LDiD: Sookie is poisoned by the maenad. Eric, Pam, Bill, Chow "take sips" of her blood to remove her poisoned blood and she receives fresh transfusions of human blood. In Dallas, she is badly hurt, but no blood loss. Ingests some of Eric's blood during bullet retrieval. I do believe she and Bill exchange blood during their "passionate" reconciliation. Ick.
CD: Sookie is staked at Josephine's. Her wound is cleansed by Russell's special vampire (I forget his name) and she's given blood by Eric so as to save Bill. Bill later drains and rapes her in the trunk of the car. Sookie receives True Blood (mixed with apple juice) at Alcide's apartment as Eric, Bill, and Alcide watch over her. She's attacked again by werewolves when she returns home. Eric and Bill kill them all.
DttW: Eric takes a little nip down south during passionate lovemaking. She receives some bumps and bruises during the Witch war, but Sookie is, otherwise, not physically injured.
DaaD: Sookie is shot by Sweetie, nicked by the cage during the Packmaster competition and cleaned by Quinn, and choked by Charles Twining. She donates blood to Eric when his head is wounded by that rock during the abusive showdown between Mickey and Tara, but does not receive any during this sequence of events.
DD: Sookie and Amelia are attacked by Jake Purifoy, the newly turned vamp stowed away in Hadley's closet. She goes to the hospital but is not treated. Claudine shows up at Hadley's apartment to tend to Sookie. Sookie is also injured during her date with Quinn and later at the melee between Sophie-Anne and Peter Threadgill. No vamp blood.
ATD: Pivotal blood exchange with Eric leading to creation of blood bond.
FDtW: In the incident between the two Were packs, Sookie is attacked but saved by Sam the Lion and Claudine. No injuries during takeover by FDC.
DaG: Sookie suffers a concussion thanks to Quinn and Bill; Eric gives her his blood. There is more blood exchanged during lovemaking. After being tortured and almost killed by Lochlan and Neave, Sookie is watched over by Claudine until Eric arrives to give her more of his blood so she can heal.
DitF: Sookie intimates that Eric has given her blood to speed her healing.
Am I missing anything?
I think you got it all actually nice work. I wanted to say that in the episode Bill gave her blood to wake her. When she jumps up and slaps him there is blood on her lips. Sadly she is filled with Bill's blood and that is what allows her to drag Eric in.
Did Eric take blood after being attacked by Siegbert with FDC?
I thought she was healed by the chandelier in her vision.
That's why I thought she was able to save Eric.
If you watch it again you can see the blood on her mouth. Where would that blood have come from?
Chelsea, as far as I can remember, Eric did not have Sookie's or anyone else's blood after the attack by Siegbert. After Sookie runs Siegbert over with her car, she unbinds Sam (who rushes over to untie FDC) while she runs back to help Eric out of the silver chains binding him. (Sookie notices before she attacks Siegbert that Eric has a head wound and his arm was clearly broken.) She sets down a large knife as she is freeing Eric. Eric uses this knife and lops off Siegbert's head with a "Go to your maker" or something like that. When FDC, Eric, Sookie, and Sam are discussing what happened in the aftermath (and what to do about Sookie's car), Sookie slumps and Eric swiftly lifts her up in his arms and cradles her. Sam later drives her home as Eric and FDC continue their discussion.
I mean Bill was freaking out wanting to feed her then we see him not chained and calm, he wouldn't be calm unless he had gotten some blood into her.
I also came to the same conclusion that Chelsea does: Bill donates blood to Sookie. You can see her licking it off her lips after she slaps him.
Oh yeah I just watched it. Wow did not see that. Why isn't she a VAMPIRE yet??? This is screwed up. I really thought it was fae juice. That would have made more sense with her weird evil laughing while pouring Talbot down the drain/disposal. Why Didn't Pam give her the key before she went out. AB must think we wouldn't notice that.
When she jumps up and slaps him there is blood on her lips. Sadly she is filled with Bill's blood and that is what allows her to drag Eric in.
Wow good catch! I thought she bite her own lip while the two vamps were feeding on her, but this is the way better alternative!
My poor mind was hoping it was because bill slapped her to wake her up lol. She kind of deserves a good slap, and Bill should be the one to give it to her, or maybe Pam lol. Then I thought no sadly it is just Bill blood damn.
Yet another notch in AB's great belt of discontinuity. Or maybe that's the reason why the fae had to take her away? Cause she was so close to turning vamp?
Megsy, enjoying your posts. Can you please go to the "Official Introduce Yourself Thread" or "The General: Info, Announcements & Introductions" thread to tell us a little about yourself? I'm Pey, by the way. Welcome to the forum.
We get our finale tonight in NZ but I've already seen the Eric bits thanks to Youtube so I guess I've seen all the good stuff. Bill pushing Eric into the cement was still surprising even though I expected him to be up to no good. Is it too much to hope Bill hides in Peru for the whole of season 4 or he doesn't and Eric rips his head off. Now that would be worth watching! Btw, love the Sookie is nuts because of Bill's blood theory. Does that cover the terrible actress theory too?
did he call Eric's dad a "greedy little putz"? over goats?
They're cheapening the memory of Godric! This is...SILLY...
Is Sookie going to go up in the nipply chandelier shaped spaceship? Good good! Take Tara with you!
What the fuck was that?
So Sookie saved Eric. Well that's good. And she yells at Bill. That's good.
Sam and Tara eating pancakes? I'll take this over either of their other storylines ANY FUCKING DAY.
The Tara and Sam Cooking Hour!
Pancakes...and EGGS!
NO ERIC! NO!
Listen to Pam! Eric, Do the world a favor and Let the little fuck fry!
Sook and Bill exchanged a "WTF is up with this guy"? look.
Now that I've got an idea of a cooking show, I'm thinking all ALL the extraneous characters that are currently torturing us - Sam, Tommy, Tara, Laffy, Jesus, Arlene, Jason, am I missing anyone? Maybe the Hotshot freaks too - lets just give them a cooking show! Instead of storylines, just have them do a Martha Stewart like segments. Oh, the Tara angst is really really old.
WTF? Eric told SOokie not to stake Russell?
"Everyone knows you're not a real therapist. You've got a bottle of Malibu in your desk."
Whats wrong iwth having a bottle of Malibu?
Oh, I'm really enjoying SOokie taunting Russell with the
ew! what did she do? She's laughing like a sociopath. LOLS, Talbot in the garbage disposal! I LOVE IT!
These imbeciles know what the DEA is? LOLS
YEah, Jason, they're dirty, not in school and seem to have dental problems. You should do something about it! HA HA HA
Who wrote this dialogue? Magic 8 Ball?
That's right! Magic Al Ball! Oh, this is awful! Geez. Is HBO bringing it back? This gets a 4th season and they blitzed Deadwood? WTF is wrong with HBO? I don't think I rag on them enough in ROTSS...
Did Crystal's brother boyfriend just shoot her father/Calvin?
Why's Terry crying?
Why's Laffy terrorized? THis is what I get for fastforwarding his scenes. Now I don't know why he's seeing blood...Hm..do I care? NO!
Terry is going to raise demon spawn and he feels lucky? There's a man! Stupid Bill is all emo all the time and can't hack anything! Yes, I can figure out a way to turn almost anything back to Bill-bashing!
This show doesn't have energy level of a season finale. I've had conference calls with more drama.
lol
AH, Jason bores me! Uh...its daytime. Where's the fucking vampires? Ah,
Gross. Now we get to see Tara's mother getting action with the reverend? This is horrible. The music is nice.
THiS SHOW IS SOOOOO STUPID!!!!
I'm so bored. Where's Jesus? and his tripping?
Flannel
RAGE ALERT RAGE ALERT? Uh OH!! what's up with Sam now?
Laffy is seeing Rene? WHY? WHY?
OH, Laffy seeing ghosts. OTAY!
night time back at the bar. Oh, there's Ginger cleaning the glass cookie jar!
Russell looks like a charcoal Elmo muppet, doesnt he?
Okay, Alcide...seeming a little less like a mimbo right this minute. Teensy bit less.
Sookie's vampires crack.
Got that right.
I love Andy! Andy's great.
I loved Eric's sweatsuit. And his red hiphop sneakers.
SO much manlove! Laffy and Jesus! ![]()
Whe'res the Sam rage? How about Tara rage? SNOOZE. Ugh. Jesus is a witch/nurse/dude?
TARA DO IT DO IT DO IT!!!!!!
KIL YOURSELF!! YAYA!!Y!
DAMN DAMN DAMN! DISAPPOINTMENT! HAIRCUT?
OMG! EVERYONES BACK AT SOOKIE'S DISGUSTING HOUSE! BLECH. GROSS.
No, you TARA have BEEN A BITCH! ![]()
Why Didn't Pam give her the key before she went out.
The key was in Eric's jacket pocket. He was adamant on sacrificing himself so he wouldn't have given the key to Pam prior to him going out and luring RE with him. Pam only got the key when Sookie dragged him inside.
Cause she was so close to turning vamp?
Isn't it that you have to be totally drained first then given vamp blood to turn into a vamp after 3 days? Or can you become a vamp in an installment basis? I remember in the books it was mentioned that there's like this borderline E/S has to watch out otherwise Sookie can become a vamp by accident. Was the amount of blood swapping defined?
I approve of Eric encasing Russell in cement. Yes, Eric. Why give peace? He does not deserve peace. For that matter, why not toss Compton in there with him to talk and talk and talk to him with that accent of his? LOL>>>
I'm having a BILL VOMIT MOMENT.
Wrapped in silver.
Encased in concrete.
You won't be goin anywhere at least for a hundred years.
LOLOLOLOLOLOL
I am LMFAO!
Forget it. I Love Bill now. THis scene is SOOOOOOO fucking funny I cant breathe.
A hundred years during which you will go MAAAAD!
Even MAAADer than you ARREE now!
MAd as a fucking hatter!
I thought the vamps didnt have ghosts. What's Godric doing there anyway?
OH. I don't even know what to say.
Bill's evil? On top of being a douche bag? Now he's evil?
Well, I got to watch most of the show before my website stopped the show. Now I have to wait a bit for the last fifteen minutes. This means I STILL can't read the rest of this thread.
Dam missed alot of details. Need to watch again. Guess Pam was stressed out seeing Eric burn, she could have told Sookie the key's in Eric's pocket. But then we wouldn't have all of RE yelling at her and her special light.
Or maybe Pam doesn't know that the key is in Eric's pocket. ![]()
Bill did give her some blood. When she woke from seeing the chandelier, his arm was near her head and she had a little blood on her mouth.
"You make me bleed, my child" LOL
Godric, get over yourself! Fucking emo vamp. You're vampires! Get with the program! Russell's CRAZYFORCOCOPUFFS!
"You will regret this."
"Maybe. But right now it feels fucking good" - see? this is sadly my attitude about many things. INcluding eating ice cream.
I think Eric and I are hedonists.
OMG! Hoyt and Jessica are adorable! OMG!
Godric was really an annoying sanctimonious jerk in this episode. All the pseudo-Jesus love shit made me want to puke.
What is this? The Steve Newlin gun shop?
Sookie dumb bitch letting him in the house? WTF?
Mari, at first, I thought Sookie was stupid for letting Bill into the house again, but the scene serves its purpose. The resolution is rather satisfying.
hahaha Mari! Are you watching the finale and commenting at the same time? haha!
oh, just what I was hoping for! More Tara! THis show doesn't have enough Tara.
OY! SAM RAGE! SAM RAGE! YAYAYAYAYAYAYA
Evil Sam is kind of growing on me. At least he's less boring. He's running around shooting people, but that's kind of like a hobby of half of the population of Bon Temps, including Jason, the Bellefleurs, Hotshot, Sookie shoots people, if Tara had a gun, she'd shoot people (altho fuck us, we'll never be lucky enough that she shoots herself!)
It was bad enough that she let him into the house again, but she was going to take him back, even after he claimed to have killed Eric and Pam, and that he would kill anyone else who knew about her. Then Eric huffed and puffed and blew the door down.
Reading is Fucking Fundamental, Sam! FUcker! Prick! DId he just shoot his brother in the back?
Sookie's crying. Again. Don't leave the house. She runs to BIlls? NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
It was bad enough that she let him into the house again, but she was going to take him back, even after he claimed to have killed Eric and Pam, and that he would kill anyone else who knew about her. Then Eric huffed and puffed and blew the door down.
Yeah, well. I keep wondering when Sookie is going to finally get a clue. Sure there are moments when she wavers in the books, when her hateful thoughts about Bill start to soften and she thinks more kindly of him, but she never gets to that point where she considers taking him back. Alan Ball's a total dick for portraying Sookie as a weak-kneed, pea-brained woman. He didn't fall in love with Sookie of the SVM universe; he fell in love with Bill.
I think AB just liked the SVM world and not the characters. I mean the idea of having a show in which supernatural creatures are real and dealing with life in a human society is pretty cool. I'm not sure he really cared for any of the relationships or people and that is why he doesn't mind changing so much of it.
I mean other then Eric I like the world better then the characters myself. I have to hand it to CH she came up with a sweet ass story idea. I love all the little things that the story deals with, it makes it so real to me.
Its granny's theme music. UGH.
The effects of the Bill/SA fight were lame.
The shampoo lady! LULS! Claudine in her shimmery greeen gown.
A little off topic, but where's Mari, maybe that chandelier can be part of her Fanfic?
Got it Zinnea! THANKS!
Sure there are moments when she wavers in the books, when her hateful thoughts about Bill start to soften and she thinks more kindly of him, but she never gets to that point where she considers taking him back.
In DAG when she said she loved him again it meant closure of their relationship. For me, it was like she already forgave him for all his indiscretions, and is willing to be his friend again. But it is clearly the end of their romance.
Here's the pic of the magazine Sookie was reading when she was sitting on Eric's throne:
http://sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc4/hs615.snc4/59541_158550894158175_117954748217790_517650_6815702_n.jpg
I'm just so tired of TB Sookie talking trash and never living up to that potential. She tosses these threats around and then just screeches for Bill or someone else to save her. Come ON! Girl, if you say you're going to kick someone's ass, you better make sure it's not an empty threat or your ass is gonna get beat down. If you tell a certain lying bastard that he no longer welcome in your home, don't let him in the door when he shows up at your door. Where's your SPINE?! She has absolutely no gumption when it comes to that sad sack.
When Sookie unofficially abjures Bill in DD, that almost lasts through ATD. Even after she is able to call him by name, CH makes it clear that Sookie never feels the same way about him again. This yo-yo-ing back and forth on TB just makes Sookie look weak and pathetic. I'm really not a fan of that characterization.
I didn't like her demonic laugh. I was all for dumping Talbot in the disposal, but the laugh was just jarring and off-key and didn't work.
I actually liked the laugh. Just because Sookie has been busy crying, screaming, being pushed around all season that I was glad to see something different. And considering all that Russell did to her- kidnap her fiance (yuck!), conspired with Lorena, bled her dry- the laugh was nothing. She did want him dead after all. But Book Sookie would never would've done that. Well, then again, she wanted Eric's maker dead so badly.
I found the laugh quite odd for the situation. But AP pulled the laugh off. Might be much more appropriate for a horror movie though.
I thought she was much more like Book Sookie than we've seen since early in S1. I even thought that flushing Talbot was in character. I just didn't like the laugh.
A smug smile would have worked better for me.
I think she laughed because Russell couldn't turn his head to see her joy, so she had to give him an audio aid. I am evil, so I thought the laugh was great. I was so proud of Sookie this episode.![]()
Can someone please tell me why Sookie changed into a party dress and made her hair all pretty when she got home from Fangtasia?
ISn't that what we all do after we rescind vamps invitations and go thru a bloodletting and babysit toasted 3,000 yr old vamps and puree vamp goo? Sookie pouring Talbot down the garbage disposal might be my favorite moment ever. Except for TBS2Ep9.
I hope it doesn't appear quite as stupidly as it has in the previous episodes.
Pey, I'm sure it will.
Hoyt's becoming quite the hottie.. He's got swagger now. Jason has lost his appeal to me. Jason I found incredily hot in season 1. Not so much anymore.
Kelli, totally agree with you! OMG! I was OMG'ing when Hoyt and Jessica looked at the house! THEY WERE SO DAMN ADORABLE I COULDNT STAND IT!
AB is probably firing Nancy Oliver as we speak and working to rewrite the finale himself...lol.
LOL.
The fairy crap didn't seem as gay in the book as it does on the show. What is with the chandelier/UFO crap? Where do they get this stuff?
Vegas?
Alcide needs to shave or go the hell away. He's way too scruffy for my liking.
Ava, I totally agree with you on this. OMG. Alcide after he dropped them off at the construction site. Him pulling away in the van, hunched over, all emo and stiff. I CRACKED MY FUCKING ASS OFF! I'm not even sure why. I just laughed and laughed and laughed. It might ---just might---have something to do with his acting.
maybe AB's been a closet Eric lover all this time and was just trying to lead the BL's in like lamb to the slaughter? Now that would be awesome!
Haha ha. Finally AB's out of the closet?
When she was on the couch crying, I was like Sookie honey, you know what I do when I'm sad? I clean, baby. It makes me feel better. Let's clean something, k?
YOU SAID IT DALLAS!!!!
"self-important greedy little putz"
It seem like AB wants it to be an ensamble show. WTF is this Friends?
LOL.
Re: Tara. Maybe she goes and gets a job/apartment in Monroe? She could work at a clothing boutique. or at the mall.
When he was like mad as a hatter I just laughed at him.
Chelsea, I laughed like a friggin' lunatic at that scene. Bill was hysterical! Like a villain off James Bond or old Batman and Robin TV show....
that end was utterly underwhelming. Sookie being zapped away? That's a cliffhanger? *yawn*
Silke, I know! I'm more excited by the idea that Tara's leaving! YAY!
I really didn't understand his purpose.
I never get Alcide's purpose.
Paging Mari--> We need St. Bill to 'drown' in a cerment grave! Can't he stumble into a construction side or something
Got it! Added to list.
I'm trying to rewatch. Nipply chandelier makes me laugh.
I will kill your precious Viking and your brooding Mr. Compton and his unbearable progeny! (did he mean Pam?I guess, right. Does he know Jessica?) LOL! I like how Sookie keeps talking to Eric but he tunes her out and listens to Godric's ghost instead. LOL
"Was it the right wing that ripped a guys spine out on live television?"
I wouldn't put it past them. Have you seen Glenn Beck?
Did Godric's appearance remind anyone else of the Simpsons episode with the XFiles crossover? When Mr. Burns glows with dilated eyes wearing a hospital gown and goes around saying "I bring you peace. I bring you love"?
Sam cooked breakfast in bacon grease and he didn't put any bacon on her plate. He's boring and a jerk.
HA HA HA HA HA! OMG! Mary, that is AWESOME! Can we kill Bill using bacon grease? Maybe a grease fire at Merlottes and Bill's there to stalk Sookie?
I think it more served to make him look psycho and unstable. Will it turn into the "Eric and Godric" show with him having all these conversations with an "invisible friend"? lol
OH MY GODDESS! LOLS! LIANN YOU"RE KILLING ME! I"M LMFAO!
Perhaps we were treated to 'nasty Sookie' because she's had a few more swallows of Bill's 'turn you into a basket case' blood just like Sam,
I like this theory. So Bill's blood stole Sam's light, too? and made him Evil Wayne Brady? THis is good....
Whew! Finally caught up! THanks for all the Kill Bill ideas! YAY!
New laughs...watching Tara's walk down memory lane of all the murders she's witnessed in past two months...
RE knows Jessica, he bit her and started to drain her. I think he meant Jessica, based on the sentence placement. However, it would work if he meant Pam.
Here is a really good review that gets everything just right. http://blogcritics.org/video/article/tv-review-true-blood-evil-is/
Mari I didn't say that Sookie Lover is the one to say Sam cooked breakfast in bacon grease and didn't put any bacon on her plate He's boring and a jerk. She get's the credit for that.
In boring and tedious Sam's favor, he may not have cooked bacon that morning. Having lived in the Deep South, I can attest to the fact that people save their bacon grease (and sausage drippings) for future use. My dead ex-mother-in-law (she was ex before she was dead) would keep it in a coffee can by the stove. Years later, I marveled at how unsanitary that really was (never mind how unhealthy the fat was). That fat would just sit there unrefrigerated for months. Theoretically, it would keep getting replenished by new (scalding hot liquefied) sausage and bacon fat, but I now think that's so disgusting and such an invitation to food poisoning (ignoring hardening of the arteries).
That was a good review Judy. I particularly liked the line that Bill is a less fun version of Franklin. Wish we could dump Bill and keep fun-boy Frankie instead.
Me too.
LOL AP. My husband saves his bacon grease, but he does refrigerate it. My mom used to save her cooking oil if it wasn't too dirty after cooking. I don't fry stuff too often, trying to keep all my diabetics and kids healthy here. That and it is too damn hot to fry and heat the house up, so I change my oil every time. But I guess it just taught me how Southern I really am, that I didn't think a thing of him not making bacon and still having bacon grease to cook with. LOL
In our kitchen, the maids save the oils in separate containers: pork, fish and chicken. We use it to fry up to the second time, afterwards we discard them. If not, the food really tastes... yucky. There's an aftertaste of grease and I don't know what else.
Anyhow, Sam cooked pancakes in bacon grease, right? I wonder what that tastes like. I'm still trying to understand why they had to put that in the show. So he can pacify Tara after he admits he's a shifter? I just don't get it.
Great review, Judy. The writer really nails it. I like this observation about Sookie's uneven characterization: "Given that she pushed Bill aside to rescue Eric just hours earlier, I would expect her to be more upset at his death at Bill's hands, and given that she no longer trusts Bill implicitly, I would expect his murderous plans to look less romantic to her and more frightening."
Alcide appears to now occupy the space Sam used to—the "good guy" who offers a contrast to the complicated vampire relationships. Too bad Alcide has not yet demonstrated any purpose on the show other than this. At least Sam is connected to Merlotte's
It was an excellent review. I liked this line. Pretty much agreed with everything! Me and that blog writer! We could be twins! HA HA HA!
I really wonder where Alan Ball can go with Sookie's romantic story lines. I mean, Bill is now sunk so low that Sookie would be insane to go back to him. Sam, too, is a bit unhinged. Eric also hasn't been painted in the best light by AB. We know that Alcide, if he resembles Alcide in the books, is a self-serving jerk. Quinn, perhaps? It's ridiculous. Alan Ball already has more characters than he knows what to do with.
criminally underused Chris Bauer
I totally agree with this too. I LOVE him as Andy. LOVE LOVE LOVE! I'm still shipping him with Pam in my AH fic.
Someone's murderous side is going to have to come out in season four, because the show needs to trim characters and plots
YOU SAID IT! COULDN"T AGREE MORE! Okay, then, so Merlottes reverts back to being a bar. Sam, in his Bill-Blood Roid Rage, shoots Tommy, Tara, Arlene, Mrs. Fortenberry and everyone in Hotshot. Crystal can live if she moves to Bon Temps. Jesus and Laffy must only ever be seen in Merlottes with Jessica, Hoyt, Jason, Crystal can start working there too. Since Sam's in jail, Sookie fills in and she starts working there again.
Oh, and Eric and AREA 5 obviously needs some FUCKING VAMPIRES! So more vampires move to the area. And when we spend time at Fangtasia, we see fucking vampires.
No more fairy bullshit Irish Spring and shampoo commercials. Fae are killers. Sookie realizes it was her brain playing tricks and her subconscious made it all fruity and ballet like. Its not really like that.
Did I miss anything? What else needs to be fixed?
Oh yeah. Sookie cleans her fucking house, works regularly at Merlottes, and uses her goddamn telepathy once in a while.
This is what I was trying to get at earlier, though Gerry Weaver does a much better job of expressing it. I just don't know how AB is going to correct that plot point, now that he actually has Sookie traveling to another world/dimension.
I'm still trying to understand why they had to put that in the show.--Sam's Bacon Grease
Back when Tara's Ho Momma first got off the hooch, she made Tara hoecakes cooked in bacon grease. I think that the link was put there to make Tara go see her mother before she goes off to "find herself(the next psycho AB will have her fucking)". Of course it could not be a happy reunion because Momma has to be riding the pastor on the couch. "I'm gonna be a minister's wife." Sorry, no you're not, hon. He ain't leaving his wife and he will drop you like a hot bible before any of his congregation finds out about you.
"Given that she pushed Bill aside to rescue Eric just hours earlier, I would expect her to be more upset at his death at Bill's hands, and given that she no longer trusts Bill implicitly, I would expect his murderous plans to look less romantic to her and more frightening."
I thought Bill was manipulating Sookie's feelings through the blood connection. She just fed off him, and everytime she started to get wound up about Eric, 'Eric, would never...' she'd suddenly just ease back and listen to Bill again.
When I thought about the bacon grease. I do remember my grandmother saving it to use in her cast iron skillet. My grandfather was from Kentucky. So it's a southern thing or a thing they did when they couldn't just go out a buy some criso. But after smelling bacon and not seeing any is disapointing. Love bacon.
Sookie_Lover- I didn't mean to take any credit about what you said earlier with your statement about not having bacon on her dish.
Sookie_Lover - Thanks for the bacon grease observation. I am thinking a grease fire will kill BIll, so extra thankyou on that!
Is it me or is the bacon grease rising to a level of importance akin to the "TISSUES"? (I still can't believe I wrote a story about the tissues...I really need to get back to therapy...lols....)
Mari, you should do a chapter with a supernatural cooking show... and Beyull attempting to create a southern breakfast for his Sookehh.![]()
@Silke: And, it would all go horrible awry since Bill hasn't cooked and eaten in over 150 years. Imagine using a stove top or range for the very first time.
Can you picture him with and frilly apron on getting a flabbergasted, when Andy comes in and starts yelling at him that he's doing wrong. Bill goes on fire because he couldn't take the pressure.
a frilly apron and a ridiculous chef's hat! And a stove with a ceramic hob which he can't handle!!
Bill goes on fire because he couldn't take the pressure.
Oh damn i love this!
Karla is usually the one to post the episode reviews from hiddeneloise, but I'll post the link since I'm halfway through the article and the writer has some good insights: http://hiddeneloise.livejournal.com/40749.html .
Sookie_Lover- I didn't mean to take any credit about what you said earlier with your statement about not having bacon on her dish.
No worries! I know people used to keep old grease, but I haven't actually seen anyone doing that since I was very young. Mmmm, lard and hoecakes with a hangover after one night stand, since she's hit bottom Tara should probably take up smoking, too. Tara is kinda like Jane Bodehouse.
And when we spend time at Fangtasia, we see fucking vampires.
Exactly! Eric needs some lackies. I really thought Fangtasia was interesting in the 1st season. No one works in this town but Andy! Jason better get his job back with the county if he has to support a whole inbred community.
It sounded to me like Jason was on some type of leave, since at Hoyt's intervention he told them he was acting crew chief until Jason got back. Really the whole, let's make Jason a cop angle was the highest degree of bullshit. Stupid, stupid, stupid. Could you imagine Jason trying to arrest say Eric on suspicion of selling V? Yeah, no.
ok... i have this sudden idea about Godric's appearance in the finale.
What if it wasn't a near-death experience or the result of too much fairyblood and too much sun or his conscience?
What if it was RE's back-up plan? He's not only a vamp but a druid? He thought he might get Talbot back through Sookie's blood somehow (maybe that's why he didn't dump him, other than plain insanity). We know from AB that next season we'll get necromancers?
RE mentions Eric talking to 'dead people' while they fry in the sun together. Why did he know Eric saw /talked to someone dead? Maybe he induced Eric's hallucinations. Think about it, he wanted to kill Eric and agrees to give him one more day to show him daywalking... i'm sure he had some kind back-up plan somehow (supported by witches?), and whatever that plan entitled, it worked because the finale's over and RE is not dead. Well technically, he is, but you know![]()
If necromancers influence the dead... maybe he has Eric cursed already, causing those hallucinations. Maybe Eric will walk down a slow path of insanity now in season 4, instead of simply loosing his memories. I ccould totally picture AB do that to him.
since at Hoyt's intervention he told them he was acting crew chief until Jason got back.
Great! This is information they give us when so much other information is breezed over. I agree the cop thing was all thought up just to get Jason in a uniform. shirtless in a uniform, and also maybe so he could have a dream without his pants on.
RE mentions Eric talking to 'dead people' while they fry in the sun together. Why did he know Eric saw /talked to someonedead? Maybe he induced Eric's hallucinations.
Whoah! That could explain a lot, and it's totally TB style to have an explanation that can spin it's wheels for a whole season.
Continuing on that train of thought: This peace through death vs. eternal torment debate... I don't think crazy RE would grand the vamp who killed the one man he ever loved in a quick and merciful way. In front of Sookie, he calls Eric her precious viking. Eric drowns out her rambling to listen to Godric... first signs of amnesia?
On another, totally unrelated note: Sookie wears in the finale the same shirt that Jason wore when he realized how wrong his FOTS business was and when he apologized to Bill in season 2. Could be random... could be a nod to 'waking up from the wrong path'.
Watched the full episode last night and quite enjoyed it but it really wasn't good enough for a finale. Best thing was seeing my least favourite characters 'leave'. Tara left with a new haircut and Sookie disappeared into close encounter/Naria-land with a Scissor Sisters tribute band. I'm still smiling about it. Absolutely ridiculous. Oh, and I really hope season 4 starts with Eric kicking Bill's ass for the concrete trick. Maybe it's Bill who is behind Eric getting amnesia so he'll forget that he needs to have his head ripped off for such treason. We can only hope. One thing's clear. AB really needs to get his act together. The dialogue was particularly bad in this episode. Bill's 'mad as a effing hatter'. Even my husband said wft was that?
An observation by hiddeneloise over on her "Our Lady of Solitude" blog that didn't even occur to me:
"Controlling the blood lust. Especially a blood lust for a part-fairy blood known as 'Vampire Crack.' Bill insists (before and later in the episode) that he is the only vampire undead who can control himself enough to stop from overeating while snacking on Sookie" ...
"Especially when they are weakened. And dying. Like Bill in that truck. All weakened, with his fangs sharply and forcefully digging into Sookie's neck uncontrollably. No wonder he couldn't stop, poor thing! Like Eric after his walk in the sun, too weak to 'drop fangs,' needing someone else to make the bite and let the blood out ... Oh, wait!... Wait a darn minute! So, Bill is weak enough to be overcome by blood lust, but his fangs pop out no problem, and his grabby hands are strong enough to restrain? Eric is weak to the point of not being able to use his fangs, and yet he stops drinking as requested?"
I saw the significance of Eric stopping once Bill pulled Sookie's hand away from his mouth, in spite of everything Bill and RE said about vampires not being able to control themselves once they've tasted Sookie. However, I didn't make the connection that Bill--for all of his protestations about being different and special because he loves Sookie soooo much--still savagely and brutally drained Sookie to the point of death when he was strong enough to kill Lorena AND drop fang. So much to think about.
God, Bill is such a bastard. I'm still not sure if I think it's extremely sloppy writing, or it serves to reinforce what we already know about Bill. Seriously, if TB Sookie even thinks about going back to Bill after this, if the writers even hint at it, I will be done. Having a love interest who is a wolf in sheep's clothing, I can deal with. Most of us know better. Having a female protagonist who is so pathetic she cannot cut the cord, even after all these revelations about his true nature... uh-uh! That's not something I will continue to sit through! *Crosses arms in front of chest*
WOW. Yeah. Even if it is sloppy writing, they've gotta catch up with it and go with it now. Because its pretty friggin appalling if they let her go back now. Knowing all this.
I hear ya Pey. But I'm afraid they may continue the Bill/Eric/Sookie love triangle until it's completely exhausted. Who knows though; maybe AB will surprise, in a GOOD way and make sure B/S (lol, BS for bullshit) relationship is OVER.
SM had mentioned Quinn. So before Quinn comes in don't we need S/E to get together first. (That is if TB doesn't go down the disposal.)
Did we touch on this yet? If Sookie is a Martian/Fairy, then there's no reason/expectation for her to have a normal lifespan, is there?
Talking about Bill and his fangs. When Bill first kissed Sookie he had to turn from her because his fangs came out. I love that Eric has never barred his fangs to her except when she slapped him in S2. Even E/S kiss first kiss they didn't come out unlike Bill. So much for control Bill!
It is obvious that Bill is premature in all senses of the word.
LOL
Is Hadley part fae too? The reason I'm asking is when Eric drank from her to get the SA to talk. Eric found out what she and Sookie are. Eric was able to control himself while feeding from Hadley. That's when Eric was telling Hadley to tell Sookie not to trust Bill. So why isn't any vampires going after Hadley and not just because of Hunter. ( Why not Jason either. Just to taste him.)
Eric didn`t find out what Sookie is by drinking from Hadley. Well, he did, but he didn't find out because of her blood. Hadley told Eric what Sookie is to get him to stop drinking from her. I'm assuming Hadley doesn't "taste" fairy.
Thanks Shannon. I have more Questions. I just can't seem to wrap my brain around. 1 : SA sent Bill to bring Sookie to her for her Fairy blood, and her telepathy. Because Hadley mentioned this to SA. 2: How Did Hadley know Sookie was part fae?
I'm guessing SA told Hadley, after all, they had a special connection - at least in the books. I think Hadley mentioned the telepathy to SA who deduced from that info that Sookie is part fae.
I put my other rambling question in the TB thread AB world
OK this has really been bothering me, last season too, and I did a quick review to make sure I'm right. Eric says that Bill gave Sookie his blood on the night that they met, to bind her to him. He said it to Bill last season outside SA's house too. This makes for great drama and makes Bill look even worse, but it wasn't the first night, it was the second night.
The first night B & S met, draining in the parking lot, rescue from the Rattrays, chain round Mack's neck, Sookie goes back to work. The next day Gran asks Sookie if she would ask Bill to speak to her club. At lunch, Jason said the Rattrays had been to the emergency etc. B & S were supposed to meet around 1:00 AM the second night to talk about Gran but Bill was late and the Rattrays beat her up.
This is a sloppy, major continuity error in their own show. I guess someone figured it was much more dramatic to say it was that first night, first meeting, and no one would pull out a DVD to check.
Here's a great review by Sookieverse: http://www.sookieverseblog.com/2010/09/16/going-going-gone/
So much for control Bill!
True. Draining her to the point of death, baring fangs when excited. Eric didn't even lose control when Sookie fed him when he was on the brink of death, when he could easily have drained her right then and there.
ok, someone please explain to a german girl what a batch of hoe cakes is?? I read it so often now...

Penny, I thought I was imagining things. And, I thought CH was bad when it came to continuity errors--hers tend to be smaller details: were-lynx/were-fox, Chow/Clancy, etc. The first vs. the second night is a pretty big detail, isn't it? The writers are really SO lazy/sloppy on TB.
@Silke: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jonnycake . Scroll to the bottom. I also had to have my fiance, whose family is from the South, explain what a hoecake was.
Pey maybe we shouldn't buy the DVDs, then we couldn't check for errors.
On the timeline issue:
Day 1 - Bill comes to Merlotte's, Sookie rescues Bill from the Ratts
Day 2 - Bill comes again to Merlotte's and ask if he can "call on her," Sookie tells him if they can meet at around 1:30am after shift (for gran), Sookie was attacked by the Ratts, Bill kills them, Sookie drinks for him
What Eric revealed makes sense to me now. Bill knew the Ratts were waiting in the parking lot to attack Sookie, and he waited till she was so injured to the point of death, so he can make her drink his blood.
Bill is evil.
Penny, while I own all the books--save Club Dead--in hardcover, I have yet to buy the DVDs. I kind of want to see how it all pans out first, my love for Alexander notwithstanding. ![]()
Bill is evil.
Amen! AB kept true to his word... evil was going on in the finale. While all major characters showed something evil, Beyull was by far the evil-iest of them all!.
Karla, thanks for the link... i was suspecting that the term was used to as a describing breakfast for ho's![]()
Concerning the timeline: Yes, it bugged me too. What also bugs me: How does Eric know? He aparently knows about the Rattrays since the s2 finale... why didn't he talk sooner? I have this wild theory that Sam and Eric (both in TB and in the books) talk more than we know. Sam is always so wellinformed - and Sam was there for the Rattray's beatup.
It was Pey who provided the link, Silke. =)
How does Eric know?
I think Eric has been investigating Bill ever since he got interested in Sookie. Maybe he has a mole in SA's court?
Oops sorry
Thanks Pey!
Here are the two crazy boys and their recap:
Huh, what? You're welcome? (Oh, the hoecakes. Well, maybe there is some symbolism there.)
They give the whole season an 8? I'm more for 6... would have been 5 if not for the first real E/S kiss... how about you girls? How would you rate the season?
Hmmm... a 7 for me. I loved the Eric scenes and the Bill's-an-ass scenes.
Another thing that bugged me - in the books, I know Fangtasia is in a shopping area of Shreveport. From the looks of the parking lot, TB Fangtasia is in a different (maybe industrial?) area. I got the impression that Eric and RE were lying in the sun for quite a while smoldering... And no passersby check things out. TB Fangtasia must be out in the boonies!!!
I think I give this epi a 7, for Bill's nerd scenes as well. (I also liked the Bill's an ass scenes, and all the Eric and Pam scenes). He seems like Eric's really nerdy side kick, with his "mad as a hatter" speech. I also liked how creepy RE was - DOH is a very talented actor.
Don't forget the butt dimples. I really liked RE, and there was all of Talbot going on about his home being wrecked. Franklin Mott Bill punching Lorena. etc..I give it a 7 and a half.
As for the season, I can't decide. Eric, Pam, Talbot, RE, and Franklin, Summer and Hoyt, Jessica, Andy were great. All the other scenes vary between a 1 and ? - Beeyul and Sookie psycho shower scene, their yucky bloody sex scene, Jason musical interlude hanging out at the police department. I'm indecisive. And I like Godric, but the "vision's" he was in were Obi-Wan Kenobi-ish!! Kind of cheesy.
Here's a great interview with Kristin. I adore her. Lot of tidbits about Alex and S4, too.
Fuck was used 24 times in this episode. Unbelievable.
My favorite quote is:
Eric to Bill and Alcide – “If you two have finished eye fucking each other, can we go?”

Um... for the whole season, a 6.5 for me. RE was delightful as the "big bad," and all the Eric and Pam scenes were extremely moving. Enjoyed the Eric and Sookie scenes, but the TB writers didn't make a compelling case for why Eric was falling for Sookie. The greatness of RE and Eric was offset by an even stupider Sookie and the ridiculous fairy story line. Sookie, alone, pretty much killed the season for me. I need a female protagonist I can root for and get behind. Most of this season, I just wanted to strangle her--her scenes with Bill were just nauseating. The subplots, save Jessica's, weren't really all that interesting to me, as much as I enjoyed Franklin's scenes with Tara. I was really looking forward to the appearance of Alcide, since I liked his character so much in Club Dead, but he really left me kind of cold. Lovely to look at, but the personality of a rock. Add to that the sloppiness of the writing and the godawful dialogue in so many episodes... and well, I just feel rather lukewarm about season 3.
Don't forget the butt dimples.
How could I??
Bad me... ok, that makes a 6.5 for season 3!
lukewarm is the right word Pey, which is why i couldn't rate it any higher. There was just SO much bad (baddestestest being the wrong shower scene. ICK). I can absolutely concur with you Pey. Sookie, Alcide, the sloppiness in writing. Too much time spend on too many too irrelevant sidestories. They also killed so so many good scenes from the book which is unforgivable. I know i know... it's different. But all good Eric scenes where scratched![]()
oh and from Kirsten's interview:
I don't know if he gave clues, but I'm hoping that next year, we have the witches, Alex loses his mind, and you know, maybe then Sookie and Pam will have to form a friendship to take care of him.
YES! Let the Viking loose his mind!!
Let's look at the bright side of this ep:

I sure hope Kristin gets her wish of developing the friendship with Sookie, Silke. I would love the scenes where Pam, Sookie, Jason, Chao and Eric will be discussing in Sookie's living room!
From the looks of the parking lot, TB Fangtasia is in a different (maybe industrial?) area. TB Fangtasia must be out in the boonies!!!
Kris on the back of the Fangtasia T-shirt, which they also show on the series, the address is: 444 industrial drive, shreveport, la. And yeah, I have one.
ohhhh i need a Fangtasia Shirt! and wow, i just stared at this clip for at least 45 secs straight. Lovely! ![]()
Think of how it could have been if Denis O'hare wasn't in it. IMO he stole the show. But true there are two many story lines going on. I still can't believe what they did with the Hot Shot community. What's the point. In the books it's interesting in TB not at all. I find Crystal all whiny. Did she even have a reaction when her Daddy/Uncle's face was shot off.
Liking that video.. I have the T shirt too.
I also have the bottle opener.. And true blood
Life Begins at Night indeed.
I know Pey already posted the link to hidenloise's review, so here's Gerry Weaver's:
The finale was a mixed bag, perhaps mostly because Alan Ball was determined this season to introduce a bunch of new characters and plots to play out over the next few seasons. I hope we get a more concentrated fourth season with very few new characters. The finale came and went without offing enough of the too crowded cast and that's with Holly not appearing and Alcide doing very little. Someone's murderous side is going to have to come out in season four, because the show needs to trim characters and plots.

I couldn't agree more with everything you said, Mr. Weaver. I hope AB reads your blog.
Nice find viking vamp girl![]()
Thought this was the best line:
Neither has been honest with Sookie, but it's hard to see how Eric's hiding of his better self won't shake out better than Bill's hiding of his worse self.

To me his season was an odd mix of the excellent and the barely tolerable.
Lots of good stuff, especially anything with AS or D'OH, I enjoyed Pam, Lorena and Talbot too. The BS was too thick on the ground though for my liking, it unbalanced the story line. AB did manage to pull off the 'first we'll nauseate you with Bill and Sookie sacharine sweetness, then we'll stun you with the contrast when it all goes sour' it was a bit like watching a time lapse film of rotting fruit Lol!. Even I, who thought Bill a proper stinker, didn't believe he would have the rug pulled out from under him quite so thoroughly.
Virtually the whole vamp story worked well, though the were's were a bit underwhelming (except for Debbie), however, nowhere near as underwhelming as the Hotshot c
