I noticed there hasn't been much here in the recent past. Is anyone still using Spock? What do you like about it? What don't you like?
I was playing around with it yesterday. So far I haven't been passionate about it one way or the other. It may be that I'm not the target audience but it just strikes me as another social network that really doesn't do anything the other social networks don't already do. I may have missed the killer ap part of it somewhere in there.
It's not hard to use, I just can't find much reason to use it. One amusing side effect is that I found several rather silly things I had done ages ago and an address I haven't lived at in 10 years
one of the things I use it for is to verify that the people who contact me on other Soc Med sites are who they say they are. By putting the name into Spock's search, I can find out who they are.
I will admit I use it less to tell people who I am than to find out who others are.
I hadn't thought of that but almost everyone I'm in contact with, with the exception of livejournal, I already know from somewhere else.
I also have myself set up on Claim ID to let people know if it's me or not, but the search at Spock is more robust.
