I am interested in some other topics people have posted on the backup features on accounts.

As a paid service say I had 20gb stored on Steekr and I hypothetically lost my hdd copy. What mechanisms are in place to ensure data is backed up:
    - do you use a tape library?
    - is there a possibility of purchasing dual layer DVD/s etc with your data on them as an option?

I would just like to say that from all the different online file storage options Steekr with its unique features and add-ons makes it the most tempting.

    thx DAVE..

Dave, while you can use steekR to do automatic backups, it's not exactly what it was made for. The steekR platform is for browsing your stuff remotely and for sharing selected files with others.

If you want a reliable backup solution, with built-in restoration, archiving feature, multi-source support and more, you'd want to check out steekUP. It has a trial period of 3 months, which should be more than enough to test the product.

For the backup mechanism, we're using redundant hard-drive storage with fail-over backups, like all the cool kids these days:)

Interesting point with the data DVD's. We don't offer that today, but we'll consider it.

     Tanks.
