Sorry the rules were kind of ambiguous, I'll change them so there's no more confusion.

As it happens, this game never ends. By last here it's meant last numerically not the word last. In other words if there are 51 posts then the 51st is the last, at least until someone else posts and then there are 52 posts and the 52nd post is the last post.

Now had I said "The person who posts 'last' wins" then it would be a different story, and the game would probably not be very fun.

Having said all that, this is, at the time of posting anyway, the last post. Therefore, I win. 

You can't change the rules.  The rules had no provision for the changing of the rules. Chapel wins. 

He and I figured it out.. He posted first.  Simple.

And editing the starting point is quite simple too.  Cheating.

I haven't changed the rules. They still mean exactly what I meant them to mean when the game started. I rephrased the rules so they would be clear. They were not, as you said, unambiguous in their first incarnation as evidenced by the fact that people were disputing them. Last as used in the rules then and now mean last numerically. There is nothing in the original language to suggest otherwise.

Q.E.D. This is the last post at the time of posting and I win.

I see what you're doing here, and it won't work. I'll play along for a while though.

First, in my clarification post I state that I did rephrase the rules, also I've added to the first post an explanation for the edit. So your not so subtle implication that I've been less than transparent in this process is blatantly false.

Second if we look at the rules in their original phrasing "The person who posts last wins." There is nothing to indicate that 'last' is not modifying 'posts.' "The person" is clearly the subject. "posts" is the verb. "last" is an adverb. You've yet to bring any evidence to the table that would indicate otherwise.

Finally, if we were to assume you were right, there was no indication under which conditions one would need to post the word 'last' to win, it would have to mean that anyone and everyone who posts the word 'last' wins. This is clearly impossible as the undisputed subject of the sentence was singular. Clearly you have no grammatical foundation to stand on.

I changed them because certain people who will remain nameless *coughjohnnbriccough* wanted to read the rules incorrectly at it was easier for them to do that in the original phrasing. As I don't have at my ready disposal the graphics tools for a sentence diagram, and can't be bothered manufacturing an aproximation of a specific one I declare myself the winner.

Here however is a basic example of one. So your basic criterion (I'm not considering anything that doesn't include a sentence diagram.) is met

I said I'd take your argument into consideration provided it contained a sentence diagram. You submitted a sentence diagram without an argument. I found the blank space where your argument should have been insufficient to prove your point. I did consider it though.
