When creating a new topic, down the bottom where you write the message, why have Send? Send is very Email where this is more a Bullitin Board, Group system where you are creating a message or writing a message. How about Pin to Board or some such, stand out with being a bit more different then other systems.

True, 'Send' is very email like, but it's also very IM like. Though Tangler feels a lot like a forum / bulletin board, it differs in that it offers real-time messaging. So one of the reasons for using 'Send' is to make it more familiar for IM users. It also represents a very concise way of describing what's going to happen when you click on the button. It's always a balancing act to come out with something different but also make it familiar to different types of users.

What about "Post"? A suggestion from my mate yui

Serious though, I do like the idea of a image. A huge Pen or Quill and Ink. Maybe even a little animation so when you hit it, the Quill acts like it is writing, or a envelope is sent, or a type writer types it out..etc. 

Tanglerator + Tanglerizer & [insert sound effect] = Tanglerized

Imagine... one day, I will send a friend an invite, and it contain the header "You have been Tanglerized!!!!!"

Also, instead of just having a word OR an image Or what ever... have the options to customize it a bit. You can either use the Default: Send/Post, or can choose an image or animation to represent it.

Classic: Post/Send 

Modern: Image to represente

Post Modern: Animation.

Remove the send  button.. users are used to hitting enter in chat mode

For post mode just have Button as "POST"

I don't agree with removing that button for chat, that could be very confusing. I like the idea of changing the 'Send' button based on chat/post mode, that could work.
