Hello.  This was brought up in the past, but I couldn't find the old thread using Tangler's search, so I'll just post a new thread.

You know the issue: You've begun typing some text in the edit box, then BAM all your typing disappears because some clever Javascript decided it was an appropriate time to start (or finish?) loading or updating something.

Any update on when or if this will get fixed?  I had probably typed 200 characters or so already.

Pistos, this was fixed.

Can you give me more details about when it happened? Had you just created a new topic?

I'm actually slightly confused as to why any javascript needs to be clearing that textbox at all.  Maybe it is a function of a plain HTML rendering?  Who knows.

I can't seem to reproduce it.  Hopefully it never happens again. 

I can duplicate the effect. On the first topic you go to after changing forum, if you type anything in the box before the rest of the topic loads, it's cleared when it does finish loading.

After that the contents of the box stays there when you change topic and only the top panel changes.

But as for how you typed 200 or so characters before it happened (which presumably meant the topic had already loaded) I do not know.

Hmm, playing around with it a bit and there's sometimes a small offset in time between the topic loading and the box emptying. Maybe if it loads faster/slower that time changes, so it could become enough to type something lengthy.

Although it just as often (if not more often) seems to be offest the other way... so the box clears before the topic is done loading

I can't see why we would need to clear the box at all, ever.

Anyway, I still can't reproduce it, even when refreshing the whole forum, etc.

Try going to a whole new forum as opposed to just refreshing (I went via Recent Activity)

I think I know what you're talking about, except I've only ever seen it when I've just started a new topic
