Try it yourself. The following message should say 1234:

This is on Opera 9.5, on Linux.
test test
I'm not seeing it
Oh wow... another obscure one.
Thanks guys
Super-King: Doesn't seem to be a problem on all browsers. For example, Firefox 2.0 on Windows here doesn't do it.
yeah, works fine on any browser in windows AFAIK.
Could someone check on a Mac for me please?
On a related note, when I try to edit a message, trying to delete something in the message first does not work - I have to write text, and then I can delete.
test to make sure
if I highlight and delete, it's fine, but clicking on my text and hitting backspace or delete does nothing until after i have typed something new
spadequack: That's a pretty bizarre bug. Down with rich edit boxen, I say! Let's go back to the good old days with <textarea>. ![]()
spadequack - Which browser is that in?
firefox 2.0.0.13 on windows XP w/media center
ok, when i click edit the first time, i get a blinky cursor thing at the beginning of the message, and i can move it around and use it to delete.
but the second time i edit, i get no cursor (which is frustrating too). and i cannot select and delete or delete - i have to add something first
probably related, the progress bar on the bottom of firefox sometimes never finishes. like it's totally blue as if it's 99.9999% done and has the white vertical bars moving backward, but the bar doesn't stop doing that and go away. firefox also says the page is done; although sometimes it says the current URL with a # at the end. i think the edit/delete/cursor problem only happens when that bar is still going
the progress bar doesnt stop immediately after i edit a post and doesn't go away until i refresh
after i refresh, the page reloads and it's not there anymore and editing this post lets me see the cursor again
Thanks for that spadequack.
I've seen the edit box issues, but not the progress bar one.
fyi, edit profile also eats up last character.
Yeah, we know about that one. And if I'm not wrong, its being fixed
