Would be great to have a way, when typing messages, to type it up with tags/codes and such instead of using the buttons... frankly they can be buggy when it comes to things like removing formatting (Type something in italics then go to a new line, now try and turn italics off... it doesn't always work), or formatting continuing itself after you delete formatted text (e.g. bold a word, delete it, start typing in the same spot and it's bold again)

Also the link creator... removing links doesn't seem to be possible, and links generally suffer the same issues I already described.

Would be easier in some cases to just type it html-style (or any other similar language... like the BBcode used on phpBB forums) When you can see the tags you can see how they ought to be behaving and make them do exactly what you want.

I like that idea SK. (And I know about the bugs you describe. Very frustrating sometimes)

But what about the 90% of people that have little to no idea of HTML coding?

A little tip I have picked up as a work around for those anoying formats that stick when you go to the next line - add a carriage return or some spaces after the location of desired formatting, before you do the formatting.

I can normally fiddle with it to make it do what I want, but an alternative mode that shows the markup would make things a lot easier for those who do have some idea of html coding.
