  Powerpoint & Corporal Punishment

  Powerpoint is all about visual cues and graphical insights, and for this it totally rocks. It's not supposed to be about scripts that can be read word for word. Scripts are for telemarketers.

  A good presenter knows their material well enough to be able to focus on engaging the audience even while they are presenting. If you are reading you can't gauge your audience, and if you can't gauge your audience then not only can you not tailor your presentation (speed, depth etc), but you are not in a position to know whether or not your presentation even worked.

  Powerpoint is the magic. For good or for evil is your choice when you use it...
