Was great!!!![]()
Met a heap of Tangler members, a heap of the rest of the world, saw some good presentations (why so many map-y things?
), won a prize (woo hoo!), cheered for Lachlan Hunt (who won the big prize and danced for us live!
), and lost my voice (the music really should be turned down a bit).
Good stuff Lachlan (Hardy)!
Where can we get a copy of the video used in the presentation?
I'm guessing there might be more info on the website... (I haven't checked)
http://www.webjam.com.au
Nothing there. Im only looking for the dance.
Blog post coming folks - as soon as I get second to catch my breath!
Meantime, checkout Lachy's own post about it - http://lachy.id.au/log/2007/06/webjam3
Or Andrew Muller's awesome photos: http://www.flickr.com/photos/amuller/sets/72157600323092604/
But my personal favourite is JJ's footage of Lachlan's victory dance:
Oh wow! Thanks Lachlan!!![]()
He's a real good sport![]()
Hey Richard, Lachy has the video up for download on his blog. (via the link Lachlan gave us ^^)
Has anyone converted it to a usable format yet?![]()
I know that goes against everything he was speaking about but...
Well, what we actually played was a MOV, but sssshhh... He wants us all to download VLC - which, frankly, isn't a bad move!
So, under the table, and on the hush hush does anyone have a copy of the MOV file?![]()
btw. excellent night - unlike any of my expectations![]()
I don't. It was on CD. Converting that file should be pretty easy. I reckon someone will do it today sometime
Thanks! I think it's *always* unlike expectations - that's probably why it works...

WebJam 3 - geeks and control freaks
I have to say, in response to your question Stephen, I wanted to say 'Those who use Tangler don't face that problem!!' .... but then I got shy![]()
I'm not going to publish the MOV, it's about 70MiB and not much better quality than the OGG. Lisa Herrod would have a copy of the MOV on her laptop, unless she's deleted it already. But I recommend just getting VLC and supporting open, patent free formats.
Don't worry I already have, and I agree wholeheartedly with supporting open, patent free formats anyway. I'm just a typical end user in that I'm a little lazy I guess.
The publicity gained from this video alone though should do a lot for the cause... It's one of the coolest PR videos I've ever seen, and I've shown it to pretty much everyone I know when discussing the night.
I suppose, if someone wants to remix it to make it funnier or something, I could give them a copy of the original unedited MOV file. Email me if you want it.
I just realised that no-one mentioned the copy I put on youtube yet.
lol - good job
sorry wrong area :s
All the vids got featured on Viddler!
