Pownce has launched with a flurry of Twitter Killer blog entries.

I'm using it but it's extras are only slightly more appealing to me that Twitter.

I like Pownce. I use more ever than I use Twitter.

What is plus about Pownce is that they dont have limited characters like Twitter does..

Agree with deantobias. Pownce is far more powerful than Twitter. You just need to think about all the possibilities that it provides. When they launch the Pownce API, it might become a twitter killer.
 

I agree that the lack of API is holding it back now. But using both Pownce and Twitter now for some time I have started to use Pownce only for sharing stuff as files and link, not really microblogging. For that I use Twitter all the time. But the group functionality in Pownce is great and will probably give it a lot more professional usage.

I am also currently using Twitter and Pownce.  I really haven't been able to find a use for Pownce yet though because I have only 1 friend I believe.  I somehow accumulated followers and contacts on Twitter, but none yet for Pownce.

What or how would any of you recommend finding "networks" of people with similar interests on Pownce?  I would much rather use Pownce because of the powerful features and great looking UI.

I guess here is a good starting point! The challenge is how to get your more mainstream physical networks there. I can see a good use for it in companies so you just have to start being the evangelist!

I started to invite my friends in Shanghai to Pownce because of the group functionality. They signed up but didn't start to use it. Fun to compare to Facebook where they use the same functionality daily.

And I agree, Pownce has a great interface, a little buggy though on my powerbook.
