I realize that Tangler and Google Groups trend towards fitting a similar Niche, but who else either has a google group or uses google groups, and do they utilize them differently from how they utilitize Tangler?

I've been using Google Groups for years. Though there is no doubt that I love Tangler much more than any groups, forums, etc, I miss the option to add a thread in my favorites list. Maybe I should wait because Tangler is still in Beta.
 

Now, when I've started using Tangler, I rarely visit Google Groups. I'm subscribed to my fav G groups and as long as I'm able to receive updates in my email account, I'm not gonna miss any group. Tangler saves your time and the majority of people are cool, not like the members of G groups who try to be extra-geeky! And one more thing: I'm yet to encounter spam @ Tangler.

I used Google Groups for a few interests over a period of time. I found it too impersonal and hard to follow. Didn't like the format at all

i used google groups a lot. integrated with gmail, it is just great

I am a member of several GGroups, one of which is 40+ strong, the other close to 100. We use them all the time and I am constantly finding great nuggets of useful information. The important point is that we can share information in a safe environment yet still receive instant delivery or take the digest - whichever best suits our working practices.

I use G Groups and I like it.

Tangler's great too.

What do you like over google groups over Tangler?
