  • Brookline(and thereabouts) Writers, Let's Start a Group

Hi fire princess. Any takers on establishing a group?  Wed/Friday afternoon or eve are all workable times for me.  Let me know what's coming together.

  • Any Jim Butcher Fans?

    Hi All,

I am a lover of the Dresden series. I think it would be fun to write something with the same spirit. Would love to meet potential collaborators, conspirators for such a project.Thanks. Enjoy the weather!

  • revision for YA novel and short story

LadyV I am happy to read the short story for you. I regret that I cannot commit to the novel. I do not have work to swap right now so this is gratis. I can turn it around this weekend if you want to send it electronically. I sent you a friend request with my off-forum email.  Let me know.

A nonfiction work called "Bat Bomb" by Jack Couffer. An account of the development of an oddball weapon for WWII.

  • Remedies for Lonely Writer-itis

    Hi All,

Just  wanted to post this easy listening and inspirational method for dealing with those hours and hours (and hours) by yourself in front of the notebook (electronic or analog). The BBC --has lots of wonderful programming, but in particular-- on weekdays, on Radio 4 at 10:30 local time plays  "Afternoon Reading" a fifteen minute broadcast of a short story or abridged book typically by new and upcoming authors. This link (http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio4/arts/afternoon_reading.shtml) gets you to the page for the show which archives readings for 7 days. Use the Listen Live button (upper right) to listen to whatever is on Radio 4 live (remember they are 5 hours ahead of us).Stay energized, keep writing.

  • Anyone interested in nature writing and other forms of essay?

    Hi Kathy,

I am definitely interested in nonfiction writing. I have not done much essay beyond the personal but would be eager to explore. The online writers group is sort of a clever idea. Maybe more interest will crop up and we can put something together

  • Looking for a Writer's Group?

Any Friday Night writers out there?  Meet someplace in the 7-10pm window. Write a bit then go out afterwards? I'm also looking for potential collaborators but I started a different thread about that.

  • Collaborators?

Hello one and all. Hope I'm not crushing any toes busting out onto the dance floor like this. I like to write. I write a lot. But I haven't wanted to commit to a project because spending hours (and hours) of my free time in the nether regions of imagination (and my computer screen) doesn't do much for my already flaccid social life. So my brainstorm was to find someone else (or a few someone elses) who want to try --or already like-- working with a partner on writing projects. I am open to pretty much any genre or format except horror. I've written fiction and poetry. These days I mostly dally in the personal essay. I am best at characterization, word choice, and flow. My best complement would be someone very good at action and forward motion in storytelling but I welcome anyone I can work with honestly and amiably.  Thanks for reading.
