Lady - exactly.  I also think it would help discipline my pitching process by having a recurring appointment where I am supposed to show up with new ideas.

Hello -   Is anyone still looking for magazine freelance writers?  I'm published and experienced in that line and would like to meet up on occasion with other non-fiction feature writers to exchange practical info on marketing and queries, etc., with possibly a "check-in" for weekly progress.  Please post here if you'd like to do the same.

I have taken courses at Grubb Street, Cambridge and Brookline Centers for Adult Ed. I would love to meet with other writers perhaps every other week. I am available most any evening from seven to nine p.m.

I am a novice writer new to Boston/Cambridge looking to join a writing group in the area. I've done mostly travel writing, but am shifting focus to creative nonfiction and essays.  I would be interested in exchanging info and feedback on magazine queries and the freelance market as well.  Did this group form?  If so, are you accepting additional members?

Hi all, i am a freelance magazine writer from Singapore. I've been writing and editing for magazines for 12 years and am currently writing for four publications in Singapore. I was thinking of pitching to magazines in Boston, however, I do not have work authorization. Does anyone know if I will need that to take on freelance assignments? I am also exploring short fiction and poetry and am trying to get into the discipline of sending out works to the various literary magazines out there. So fatoush, the context of this proposed group is ideal for me at the moment. Writeup, all the pieces I do are features and like you I would like to speak to other people regarding the marketing aspect of things. Friday mornings in Cambridge works for me.
