how many ppl had hd dvd drives and are upset toshiba pulled hd dvd from the race.  take away the ps3 and i dont believe blu-ray players outsold hd dvd by that much

Kodo - like the VHS vs beta it's not about who has the biggest audience it's who wins the industry channels.

The worse thing about Blue ray is that the standard is not yet set. When the new drives come out later this year, any disc from then on wont play on the first set of blue-ray players.

i wouldnt upgrade to hd format if i already owned the dvd unless it is something that would really benefit from it...maybe 5th element.  i own a lot of cd's but they were mostly bought back in 90's and early 2k before digital music was really becoming a business.  i would still prefer to own cd's from my fav bands and rip at a higher bitrate over buying from itunes.
