how many ppl had hd dvd drives and are upset toshiba pulled hd dvd from the race.  take away the ps3 and i dont believe blu-ray players outsold hd dvd by that much

Kodo - like the VHS vs beta it's not about who has the biggest audience it's who wins the industry channels.

The worse thing about Blue ray is that the standard is not yet set. When the new drives come out later this year, any disc from then on wont play on the first set of blue-ray players.

yes but surely they would have to build in redundancy to support older standards.  if they release new players which wont play older discs that would just be totally riidiculous.  and your right mick unfortunately.  I just think sony threw more money than toshiba did.  well i only had the 360 add-on drive so idn't spend a fortune on a player.  was waiting for affordable combo players

The new players will play the older discs i belive, its the fact that anyone buying players now wont be able to play newer discs. Pretty much rendering them useless

Most of my friends with iPods still haven't worked out how to put new music on it. They still call friends.

They don't listen to podcasts.

They don't watch movies.

mick - that said. My computer IS my tv. Got a massive monitor with a built in tuner sitting in my livingroom.

I only did it cos my place is too small for a livingroom and office but it works great.

@mick some don't even know what a podcast is..

I usually buy teh cd and then download it cause I am too slack to rip it to listen to it on my computer. But I still use the cd in the car.

Get Blueray and buy DVDs.

Get a Mac not a PC.

Get a Wii.
