this is a game that everyone should at least try in there lifetime. Its a test of brain v muscle (muscle memory) concentration, exercise regime capacity, self v self, self v others, consistency, use of equipment, challenge the elements and the minds of the course creators, the course keepers, its just a fit all ball game. For those who have not tried it or have and got frustrated - the challenge is to break through the wall. Hit one good shot or sink a long putt, get a par or a birdie and it will bring you back all the time.
I enjoy golf. I'm not any good at it, but I enjoy it.
I especially enjoy going to the driving range, and I have just realised I haven't been to one in a looong loooooooong time. Bummer. I should change that. I just love hitting the sweet spot and following the trajectory of the ball.
I remember actually having one of my dreams come true. I was telling Marty how sweet it would be to have a driving range at a body of water. It would combine two of my favourite things. Throwing things into water, and smacking a ball as hard as I can. Guess what? He took me to one! hahaha I could not believe my eyes!! It's somewhere in the Hunter Valley. If only it had different levels (like the range at Moore Park) but still, very very fun!
Our local range has a Holden Camira at around the 180m mark. I've clocked it once on the fly with a 7 iron.
hahaha Nice!!
My most memorable golf moment occurred at Shannon Lakes, Kelowna, Canada. Altitude was a factor. We were up a few thousand feet and I got carried away with the hang time, trying all day to put em into orbit. Had an ordinary round as a result. That was until the 130m par 3. Pulled out the sand wedge and got a massive piece of it, straight as a die and in the air for a long time. Plonked down with zero roll on about half a foot from the pin. Tapped in for birdie.
Nice!
its great ruski - that one shot that will bring you back all the time - I have a golf partner who has had a hole in one on the same course and the same hole ten years apart - how about that and the last one two weeks ago was in a pro am and the pro had to stand there and applaud.
