    or how about this?

Sorry about the bad photoshopping... was in a rush

    2007-05-28 19:01:28.0

Yeah.... ideally I should just be able to double click on the little men to make em stay.... But I wasn't sure if that can be done

    2007-05-28 19:06:06.0

yea there are a lot of options to clikc... i only have to tell them to continue capturing by using that menu:) (or stay in a city if i want, or stay wihtout capture)

    2007-05-28 19:10:34.0

hi guys.. just so you know, you can actually achieve the most needed actions by simply clicking again (stay here, attack, first capture). That said I agree that the action panel wants to be a bit more felxible. We trialed having it detachable and freely movable which was really neat. We removed the feature as the position was not persistant but something needs to be improved. Making it contextual on the map is difficult becaue you often have to access the surrounding area (e.g: move + attack).

what do you think aboiut being able to rip it of the side panel and place it whereever you want?

    2007-05-29 03:01:48.0

Maybe allow for only having it in one of 4 places? top/right/bottom/left as I can't see where else you'd want/need to put it. Although a dynamic contextual menu of sorts would be pretty wicked which could eliminate the sidebar all together and place the game chat on a tab.

    2007-05-29 09:20:11.0

@Lech plasticshore just said that it wasn't much of an option as it would obstruct your immediate surroundings.

    2007-05-29 12:08:31.0

Freshjives, that's all really depending upon how it's implimented. But of course I don't expect it would be entirely useful if it's massive and covering up a good 1/8 - 1/4 of the map.

    2007-05-29 12:22:11.0

realistically the only thing i want is units to continue capturing....... i see no tactical reason why somoene wouldn't want that (except for allies maybe...) and if they capture they are also staying, and if they are staying they are capturing.....

Thus we need no menu except to help initially or for advanced features (and thus a small icon on the unit)

    2007-05-29 14:55:16.0

So I can click on it and it'll stay?

    2007-05-29 19:12:49.0

if your question is that you can click on your unit after moving him? then yes.

    2007-05-29 19:24:38.0

    okay, cool....

    2007-05-29 19:29:34.0

I suggest making the game replay slower.... i was watching this game http://weewar.com/game/1516, and it was just too fast to see anything!

    2007-06-01 19:54:19.0

I just invited a few ppl to a game, and I got the message - one of the players is not a Weewar member (or something along those lines).... I looked down, and the unrecognised name wasn't highlighted... Took me a while to figure out which one. It'd be great if you could higlight it somehow

    2007-06-03 00:05:04.0

Also, I think I'm on the pro account now, but I can't be sure cos everywhere I look, it's telling me to become a pro member:-/

I'd suggest putting a 'pro' next to 'your account' or 'your profile' and taking all the reminders to become pro away

    2007-06-03 00:07:45.0

    2007-07-09 23:02:38.0

do it like deivantart does by putting symbols in front of the names like

    ~djdarkstar187

    or

    -dekrazzee1

    or

    $lech

    2007-07-09 23:54:35.0

    for pro accounts

    2007-07-09 23:54:47.0

Does it matter knowing who is pro and who isn't?

    2007-07-10 00:00:50.0

rai is talking about the game still telling her she that she is a normal member although she has a pro account. wouldn't you be confused too if your car would tell you that you have no fuel left although you were just at the gas station?

    2007-07-10 00:00:52.0

    yes. it does

    2007-07-10 00:01:10.0

because you get to play with pro units when a pro player wants to play with you. it's also interesting for the highscore list

    2007-07-10 00:04:09.0

I agree that its slightly disconcerting to be told to upgrade to pro by inviting 10 people when I'm already on a pro acount

I wouldn't mind a moveable side panel because I would immediately move it to the right side.XP

On topic, could you make the action panel appear directly under where the mouse is clicked? That would be the best ideal way.

    2007-07-10 16:44:39.0

If the panel could follow me as I scroll down the page when the map is big (like those annoying panels you get on those pages from "About", but not annoying)

Or just make that side colum fixed so its always there even when I'm at the bottom of the page.

Then give options of where the panel is fixed to for people who want it somewhere else

    2007-07-10 17:07:33.0

Personally, I don't mind the current position of the action box, but if you must play with it: If it can't be completely draggable, then maybe all you need is two positions for it.  Then you can pop it up nearby the clicked unit, and if it's obscuring hexes which you want to access, then click the "toggle position" button on it, and it will flip over to the other side, so you can get at the hexes underneath.  Simple enough?

    2007-07-10 17:29:30.0

How awesome would it be if you designed an interface for weewar that looked similar to what tangler looks like right now? Floating toggleable menu options and text messages with the game going on in the back.

    2007-07-10 18:27:28.0

Personally, I think less Javascript is better... You'll improve browser compatibility, and hence, greater audience/reach.  At present, I can only play in Firefox.  So, keep the code simple, or at least, compatible.

    2007-07-10 19:58:41.0

    Two things:

    1. I like the idea that Super-King had of "make that side column fixed so its always there even when I'm at the bottom of the page."

    2. I only use IE and the only issue I have is when I'm playing on my laptop I can't scroll to see the entire map when I'm playing bigger maps.  In other words there is no horizontal scroll bar available when the map is clearly to big for my tiny laptop screen.

    2007-07-11 06:44:50.0

I'd also kinda like to be able to move the map horizontally without having to be at the bottom where the scroll bar is - either being able to click and drag it around (although that could conflict with order giving) or being able to use the arrow keys to move it about would be good

    2007-07-11 09:26:11.0

    A suggestion for map making.

How about allowing map makers place neutral units on their maps? Units that aren't controlled by any player and simply just sit there waiting for someone to come along and kill them. They would be used simply to block and impede movement until a player decides to attack and kill it. Places to put them would be ontop of uncaptured neutral bases or defining choke points on maps. Like a wall that players have the option to break down to either find a short cut or open up more bases to capture.

    2007-07-16 00:52:08.0

    interesting but possibly pointless

    2007-07-16 00:56:27.0

in regards to the action panel, I would love to be able to move it, or even have an option of changing it to a more horizontal layout to be placed above or below the map.

right now it takes up so much real estate on the screen that it's forcing the maps into a smaller area than I think is necessary,  a horizontal option would allow a much wider view of the map below and since I use the action and info panel much less that I do the map, I would much rather see more of the map without having to scroll...
