Hi.  Just found this game recently.  What's the general feel from the devs in terms of Opera support?  The game is not playable at the moment in Opera.

How come things happen differently in different browsers? Aren't they all supposed to take a page and display it?

Different browsers can interpret the same standards in slightly different ways depending on what rendering engine they use

IE is the worst for making up its own standards as it goes along, but the majority factor forces a lot of web design to work around it, which may result in some strange things happening in other browsers

Ever seen a seemingly random jumble of characters where an apostrophe should be? That's caused by some type of MS-related standard-defying problem where they've added extra characters to the normal set (e.g. "smart quotes" - where they look like a tiny 66 and 99 instead of the basic inch marks, and some type of apostrophe) Copying those things direct from MS Office, or possible MS Frontpage = not interpreted properly when its put into html and subsequently read by a browser

Yeah.... IE sucks big time.....

But hey, at least I can play Weewar in it

Seaking of browsers.... I'm in the midst of uninstalling and reinstalling Firefox.... it went nuts over the weekend

In this case, it looks to me like the problem lies in the AJAX and Javascript as opposed to the plain rendering of HTML and CSS.

well i don't know enough about opera or javascript to write a cohere answer about why they won't play nice in the case of Weewar 

and the basic reason for stuff working differently in different browsers is the same - different interpretation of standards 

I just want to see it work on my DS Browser

So, are we going to have WeeWar working on Opera eventually? I'd love to not have to fire up another browser to play my games

I notice that it's begun working better when they started doing IE-related changes, though.  But still the chat is blank.

Yeah, Opera support would be really great. I'd like to be able to use the Nokia 770 browser but the site won't let me log in. I can go directly to game urls, but I can't play them without being able to log on.

I'd like to point out that Weewar is playing properly under Opera 9.50 beta 1.   The chat is not blank, and I can click units and move and attack.
