It occurred to me that sometimes it would be nice to be able to play an unrated game so that no matter the outcome, nobody loses points, like when a new rule comes out and you want to test it before putting your rating on the line, or you're playing a supposed newbie for the first time and if you totally thrash him you don't want him to have to take a hit to his rating right off the bat, but if it's not really a newbie you don't want to lose and take a big hit to your rating.
i like this idea a lot.
+1 for the option to set up unrated games.

What? No, it's just a number. No need to obsess about it. Don't be afraid to lose points.
It's always better for a newbie to lose against someone with 300 more points cause he loses like 5 in a case of him being defeated :p Anyway only real NOOBs kill newbies of when they ask to draw. What happened to me once was that I told my newbie that we'll play around a little bit and then draw and after like 15 turns he surrendered... hmmm... maybe they WANT to lose points?:p No risk no fun heheh:p

+1? lol
hehe
oh, also, it would be nice to be able to set up a game and not automatically be the blue (first) player.
Yeah, if people could choose their position/colour, that might be neat.
+1 for Simonz idea
