Can we get the chat history reduced in all places where there is chat?  It seems to maintain many lines, and loading them up just slows the page down.  I'd rather have a fast page than be able to read ancient discussion...

-1. I think that there are cases where looking back for things said in the beginning can be helpful - clear things up for people who are suddenly "confused" on what they agreed to.

However, I agree with the speed thing. Why not look into a system like Tangler here (conveniently located to the left)? See how it preloads only so much, so it's not too slow, but if you scroll down (up in our case) it will pull more from the list. Why not do that for the chat window? Lowers initial load time but still leaving it available for reference.

It should be easy to preserve the chat server side and bring it up in a new page on demand, rather than for every page view.

That would work too, I just think it would be more convenient for a scrolling solution, though I could make due either way. Or an API? That would be ridiculously awesome, allowing for chat programs to pop up possibly (if they allowed for incoming information to be sent with a participating users API token?)

The chat loading a lot of history was not so much of an issue before our recent round of performance upgrades. Weewar was simply not fast enough to make this very  noticeable. Now that it is we need to look into it! I am pleased to have this problem for once

+1 to this maybe reduce when the chat history gets to be more than 2x the height of the control?

Did anyone else notice the hidden chat segments before?  Was removing that part of the upgrade?  I miss them.

+1 Should make an option in Preference (Account Details) to alow disable.
