.. or is likely to be next. Some of you have requested for us to share more timely what we are currently working on. We'll try to make that more transparent from now on but first a few details about how we work:

We are employing some very "agile" processes (agile as in agile development). Among other things this means that we do not necessarily have a detailed long term development roadmap but instead have a large list of things to do at some point. These are most often generated from your feedback.

Now being on the list does not mean it will necessarily get implemented. Instead we pick items that we feel are most pressing or promising and only loosely identify some likely candidates for the near future. Only at that point we venture into evaluating and potentially designing these features. Once they are done (or not if that is the outcome of the evaluation) we pick the next.

So while this approach makes it possible for a small team to develop a large beast like Weewar it does not lend itself to easy sharing of upcoming features but I'll try anyway

Right now:

• Moving Weewar to a hosting cluster and ultimately switch from invite only to free Signup
  (this is costly and difficult - but we are nearly there!)

Next (in no particular order):

• Maps, Maps, Maps.. and some more Maps (if possible with public facing editor and map sharing)
• Better balancing of existing maps
• Fog of War

Soon (likely candidates):

• Unit Balancing
• Team play
• Improved API (AI etc..)

ugh..i hate fog of war...that's usually the only cheat i ever end up using in a game is the one to get rid of that.  i guess i can see the reasoning, but i can't say i particularly like it. i mean, that's what satellite intel is for

That's what <input type="checkbox"> is for. 

Fog of war will definitely optional with the default likely to be set to "on".

I'm in a split mind about Fog of war - I can see how it would be kinda fun to build up some forces from some further-back bases, then suddenly come charging out of the darkness onto an unprepared enemy, I just wouldn't want for it to be swiftly decimated by my opponents similarly massed-but-invisible forces that I didn't know were even there.

Meh, options FTW - if I don't like it I'll turn it off.
