Keep talking here![]()
Hi everyone!
To those people saying Pluto has more units: (provided that my calculations are correct) the total cost of Pluto's units as of the end of round 40 is 9925 credits (HA: 8, HT: 0, T: 9, R: 2, LI: 27), the total cost of my units is 10825 (HA: 11, HT: 1, T: 8, R: 2, LI: 11). I do not know though how many credits he has got left, I have got 200.As was rightly noted the most important thing is how well the units will be used.
I think Pluto has a better position. If we would continue I would eventually run out of space to place my new units.![]()
Plus Pluto had the initiative for the most part of the game.
All in all, I think Pluto deserves to go further.
I would be happy to surrender to end all dispute, but if I do not proceed in the tournament I at least do not want my score taking hit.
To avoid the point loss you could agree to peace then put whoever through to the next round.
Or put one person through, but carry on playing to see how it ends (runs the risk of demonstrating that the "wrong" person went through though
)
I agree with SK that you can just draw the game itself and decide who to play through to the next round. It is tough to determine who should actually "win" the game from an outsider's perspective and I'm willing to go with Muzzafar's evaluation if he feels Pluto should go through. No matter what, it was a well fought battle.
Stalemate solution: Snake and I are playing our tournament game on One on One and it looks like no one will be able to win it: http://battleground2.weewar.com/game/49852
There was an idea that we start another game on another map (where we probably won't stalemate) and count this as the tournament game. As long as we can agree on a map and who is red and who is blue, would it be ok for the comitee to take the winner of the replacement-game instead on voting on someone on the One on One game?
I have no problem with however you want to settle things, so long as you're both agreed on it.
I don't think the game as it stands is necessarily unresolvable though - looks to me like blue is in a better position, especially given that red's artillery isn't particularly well defended - a rush with a lot of units could probably overwhelm the artillery's capacity to blow them up.
With one draw situation resolved by the participants already, agreeing among themselves who should go on, I think we have to keep that option. The Committee agreed to make these decisions at the onset, So I feel that they should review and vote amongst themselves as to the outcome of future stalemates. In the event they have a split decision, the toss of the coin can resolve it..Moving to another game scenario to resolve just seems out of balance, and would allow the possiblitly of both participants to play on a different field than the rest of the pack.
I see the role of the Committee to be more about resolving questions/disputes when the players themselves can't. I guess I favour a hands-off approach - let them settle it between them.
Although you make a fair point about it being unbalanced to move the game to another map entirely.. ah, decisions ![]()
I tend to side with Humphammer here. I also agree with others that this does not yet look like a for-sure stalemate to me. Also, keep in mind that with 2 weeks allotted per round, there's still ~1.5 weeks to go on round 2, so I suggest you guys keep at it. If there's still a stalemate at the 2 week deadline then we can summon the committee.
So, is it 2 weeks after the last game starts that you have to play your games? Or is it just 2 weeks from when your game starts? My game started on the 14th, so we're right on top of the latter deadline.
2 weeks from when your game starts.
plus, I don't mind waiting for you and ironcamel to finish. I have a lot crap at work to do.
and a lot of other games runnin I am sure![]()

snake and i are playing the 2nd round of the tournament on One on One and there is no end in sight. i would like to call the comitee on this game and decided the winner: http://battleground2.weewar.com/game/49852
it's a tough one, but i guess if you want a vote I think I would side with jeye since he has more units, more overall resources and a slightly better position
Am I the only one or is the bracket page on the wiki down at the moment?
Yup, it's down.
I'd side with jeye too - he's got more stuff, and more artillery. I think if it came to a rush from either side (or both at once) he'd have the edge.
I'd actually be interested to see what happens if you were to both rush at once...
I did make a simulation with Goater with the units in place which it was in the tournament game quite some time ago. the attack was not a success (i lost a lot more units than Goater did). unfortunately the game is not in the archive anymore
Arrrgg, the tourny bracket page has gone AWOL, whats up?
The wiki was running on stikipad.com. Looks like all the wikis hosted by them are gone?? I could not find any news or updates on the situation. The domain weewar.info and the wiki were both supplied by a user. So I am not sure what we all can hope for. Maybe it will return or we might be able to retrieve some of the info via google's chache? Major bummer.
but it aint pretty and I am not exactly sure how current it is. Looks like its from Jan 28
we have lost the link to game 53. And I have deleted it from my HQ. That was stupid.
hopefully the wiki on stikipad will come back?
Looks like the wiki is back! phew.
sweet... there have been a lot of interesting developments too!
For those with stalemates, these guys have come up with an interesting solution: http://battleground1.weewar.com/game/50253
If you don't want to read through the chat, they basically decided to limit use of artillery... It may just make things worse by just clogging up the middle strait, but it will nonetheless be interesting to watch!
What about the game tournament game Snake and I am in? http://battleground2.weewar.com/game/49852/MRxVp58sfONK The comitee members who replied here said that I am in a slightly better situation. What is the procedure now?
I just wanted to state here that in case my game with LordBaer is holding this tournament back, I am happy to let him have the victory and move on to the next round. I take my turns rather slow these days...
when is the time up for round 2?
Hey Pluto - any ETA for the start of round 4? Or is the plan to let some of the slower games catch up?
yes, by all means, let's start Round 4... I can do the "coin toss" tomorrow
and I also think that the Round 2 guys should start to wrap things up if they can
I say it makes no sense to hold the other games up, flip da coin!
sorry... my bad, I totally forgot! I just checked, and the coin flip is...... ODD!!
It had to happen, I guess. Good Luck!
LordBaer and I are playing game 49.
That was a quick game.
LOL, well put ![]()
