Are there any other WeeWar Greasemonkey script writers out there? I have some questions. The WeeWar Stats script was my first GM script and now I've run up against a problem I can't seem to get around.
So, my main problem is that, since the new gameplay layout was introduced, I can't seem to place the WeeWar stats on the screen so that they can be seen. The map area automatically grows to fill 100% of the height of the screen. If the user has a tall screen, I can make it work by placing the stats under (or above) the player list. But if the user is on a short screen (like my wide-screen laptop at home), either the stats or the player list (whichever is on the bottom) gets cut off. In fact, without the WeeWar stats showing at all, if I look at a 6-player game while at home on my wide-screen laptop, I can't see all 6 players.
So can someone tell me how to use GM to modify the layout so I can still place the WeeWar Stats block on the screen? So far, my best solution has been to place it inside the Game Options pop-up window. But if I do that and there is a large variety of units, the Stats block pushes the Replay options off the screen. I have also tried placing the Stats: 1) above the status bar; 2) between the status bar and the map; 3) below the map.
I'd love to create my own pop-up window like the Game Options, but so far I have not been able to do it.
Thanks, Tracy
i can't really help with your questions, as i don't know how to code, but i do use the gm scripts. it sucks not having the stats after having them for a couple weeks just before that patch that changed things around.
the reason i'm replying here to your question is that i noticed someone in another thread (maybe it was you? - i'll have to go find that thread again and make the same suggestion as below to the helpful soul) talking about their script and it gave a link, but there was no mention of it in the wiki (see wiki gm scripts). so when you do hopefully get things ironed out, then i (and i'm sure others that wouldn't know otherwise because they don't read all these forums) would be really grateful if you post it there. tx!
Hi Tracy, I love your script and thus could not live without it when the new game layout was introduced!
A quick and dirty fix I did was to place it back under the map. You can still see it with small maps, even on widescreen laptops... but for bigger maps, I've found the best option is to use the BigMap script to adjust the map up and down so that you can bring the stats panel into view when you want to see it, and then make the map bigger again when you are done looking at the stats.
Here are the modifications that I've made to do this... I also added a few more stats parameters
thanks guys![]()
great idea pluto!
In a game with more than two players the bottom player's data gets cut off.
But thank you very much for making it work with the new look.
winter, i don't have that issue. are you using the bigmap script?
Yes, that must be it. I can play with the big map script to change how many armies stats are displayed. Thanks Lucky.
Thanks Pluto! That worked great! BTW ... I'll increase the version number and cite you in the code for your contributions!
Thanks,
Tracy
i found a virus in a script that i started to install. what should i do?
a virus? If it is genuine and malicious remove all references from the wiki, and warn people here about what it is and by whom...
how do we find out "if it is genuine and malicious"? tx!
which script?
the stats script. from the wiki.
are you talking about this one? http://weewarwiki.com/tiki-index.php?page=WeeWar+UserStats
