I'm trying to create a small map and it needs lots of tweaking and testing. Is there any easier way than having two accounts, publishing, testing, ending in a draw, copying the map, changing something, rinse and repeat?
That is pretty much what i am doing
but before i published i try doing some paper games
but then you'll need two pro accounts![]()
Its probably best if you could work together with a mate
you do not need two pro accounts. You can INVITE people(basic or pro) to games you setup, this includes custom maps. Open games with custom maps REQUIRE people with PRO to join them.
.
Paper Prototyping: I print out my maps and use my RISK pieces to simulate turn movement and capture. I then mark my map with placement of different tiles or units. I update the map and publish.
Paper prototyping seems an excellent way to start off - thx for the tip. Also want to thank you for the excellent River Maze, have so much fun on that map![]()

I have found an interesting way to test a map, maybe thats implied in the very first post, but wasnt obvious to me: You invite your second account for a 5 min game, then, 5 min later you "dont wait for remaining players" and tadaa, you can take as many turns as you like![]()
You can actually create an invite game (not open) without inviting anybody. That way you can play as many round as you want until you end the game. That will not help test it against someone else but at least you can get a feel for the map.
Hey, that is good to know. It never occurred to me to try that...
(sorry, posted to wrong thread)
since the map editor update, two of the three computers i play on are a buggy. one a lot moreso. when opening a game the terrain doesn't show up, just blank/white background, except for bases and units - they do show up. refreshing and going back to hq don't help. i go to the other much less buggy computer and things are a lot better - a lot more playable - except it has a similar blank issue, but after ending my turn, so it doesn't affect playability. i'll post this to the devs thru the contact form now. tx!
