I think there is an important need to be able to annotate your own maps.

In many cases it would be very helpful to have a section called publishers notes where one could include any ideas that lead to the map, guidelines of how its supposed to be played in the mind of the creator, give credits to whoever you stole the map from and then edited it  etc.

+1, we asked for this in test and it was noted and they said it would come in a later update.

We also think adding a description and to automatically atribute any derived map to the original creator is important. This is definitely coming!

Maybe a little footnote when someone creates a game there is a little footnote saying the little thing and maybe even map credits.

How does this revision stuff go? How do the maps register how often they have been revised and all that.

How can it be called revising if its actually only copying and modifying?

nothing happens to a game which the map is deleted for it.  it keeps running fine.

The act of publishing creates a "revision". When you delete it is stays on the system until the last game on it has ended and is removed. But it appears from all other interfaces immediately.

But http://battleground2.weewar.com/map/18851 for example shows: "Revision 2" what does that mean? Was the same mappublished before, but how can it be published again?

It was published once. Then a copy was created. The original published version may or may not have been deleted at that point. When the copy was published the revision went up. This might not be the best wording for this. But a map can either be edited or is published. Once it is published you can not edit it anymore but only delete it or make a copy (to edit and publish again).

oh .. That is one of mine. Yes there was a previous version. I made a copy and republished it - hence the revision 2. The first version was deleted.
