    Hi, since I was not able to find the old unit ideas and map presentation thread I made a new thread to two new unit ideas in:

    Mobile Missile Launcher (MML) (AMPHIBIC):

    The main use of the MML is to defend against enemy Destroyers and Battleship when you don't have an harbor. So the MML should be buildable at normal bases and harbors.

    Stats:

    Costs: About 900

    Movement: 9

    Attack Range: 2-3 (2-5 vs BOAT)

    Defense: 6

    Can move and shoot.

    Attack Strength:

    • soft: 0 (troopers are to small for the missiles targeting system;) )
    • hard: 10
    • air: 0
    • speedboat: 10
    • amphibic: 12
    • sub: 0
    • boat: 13

    Strong vs: Destroyers, Battleships (if the range is reduced to 1-4)

    Weak vs: Speedboats

    Useless vs: Air Units, Troopers, Subs

    Commander (SOFT):

    The commander is a special unit with special skills and no direct attack. I got some ideas from C&C: Generals

    Costs: ?

    Movement: 6

    Attack Range: -

    Defense: 4

    Attack Strength:

    • soft: 0
    • hard: 0
    • air: 0
    • speedboat: 0
    • amphibic: 0
    • sub: 0
    • boat: 0

    Cannot shoot back when attacked.

    The Commander is a special unit and has several special skills:

    Jammer:

    • Targets: HARD, AMPHIBIC,SPEEDBOAT, BOAT
    • Range: 1-3
    • Effect: The targetted enemy unit is not able to return fire as long as the current player is playing the current round.
    • This skill can be used after moving.

     

    Sabotage Engines:

    • Targets: HARD, AMPHIBIC,SPEEDBOAT, BOAT
    • Range: 1-3
    • Effect: The targetted enemy unit cannot move on the next turn for the enemy player. Attacking and retaliating is possible.
    • This skill can be used after moving.

     
     Encourage Troops:

    • Targets: SOFT
    • Range: 1-3
    • Effect: The targetted allied unit gets +3 strength for all attacks (except those which are initially 0) and -4 defense. Lasts  only for the current players round.
    • This skill can be used after moving.

    Commander Strike:

    • Targets: HARD, AMPHIBIC,SPEEDBOAT, BOAT
    • Range: 1-1
    • Effect: Attacks Enemy with Attack Strength 6. Enemy cannot shoot back.
    • This skill can be used after moving.

    I'd like to see a Mortar team.

    Targets: HARD, AMPHIBIC, SPEEDBOAT,BOAT,SOFT

    Range: 1-3

    Move: 1-2

    Damage as per Light Artillery - 1

    Can move and shoot and hide in mountains.

    Price 250-300?

    jeye: I'm rarely one to complain about complexity in games, but I think your ideas might need to be relegated to an advanced mode of some sort.

    hey madmike (and devs), do you draw the units first using a program, say like adobe illustrator, and then rasterize them and make them look good as small pixelized images?

    Maybe the commander is a little challenging but it offers new interesting options.

    Sniper is a definate.

    Maybe a fast capture only air unit? Or quick capture, lowers defence but captures in one turn.

     

    Motar would be fun too.

    I like the sea unit too. Hovers are underpowered, but worth thier price. on a sea-land map though, you can't take anything out with hovers. They need a stronger amphibic, maybe a trnasformer.

    Honestly, some troop-carrying vehicles would really make things interesting.  Imagine armoured personnel carriers, transport ships, paratroopers... You could send infantry to places faster than they can walk, and even across places (water) they can't travel over.
