What do you guys think of the general layout of http://www.Wikistock.com ?

And for some reason, Tangler won't let me create the url link in this message,  I apologize.

    It's good... I like it.

    The information is presented clearly.

Wikis always scare me a bit, just cos I'm unsure as to how to use em, but I'll check it out more and get back to you with any ideas I have:)

I like the idea of a Wiki for this subject matter.  It has lots of potential.

I think your "button" navigation across the top should be either all words or all symbols - not a mixture.  Since I'm not sure you will find easily identifiable symbols for these types of terms (and the ones you're using look like something grown in a petri dish) , I vote for words.

If you go with all words then you might consider using different color buttons allowing the eye to differentiate between topic/terms.

I also think you should move the "Navigation" and "Toolbox" items from the very bottom of the page to the TOP of your left sidebar (where your Adverts are currently).  Otherwise I will begin to think you are trying to make a dollar over allowing visitor/users to easily find information.  I'm suspicious of this currently.

That's as far as I have ventured...

I am not a fan of the orange with the green, and I agree with BigNerd that the buttons should be uniformed with either words or symbols.

I like the most popular side bar, helps you jump right into the site.

Wow, this is great feedback. I really appreciate you guys sharing your thoughts with me. I will try to inact the changes as soon as possible.

I had heard the best place for ads is on the left side, so I just stuck them there, but I don't want to compromise usability. So I will make some changes there. Again, thankyou very much, and if you think of anything else please don't hesitate.

I've pulled a lot of content off of Wikipedia, just to get it started, but I hope to have it eventually offer a very different experience for visitors. For one, I intend to slim down all the articles and make them as concise as possible. I figure Wikipedia already covers the history of these topics well enough. The other difference I was going for, is a stricter interlinking of a single subject. I find a lot of articles in Wikipedia linking to any and all subjects.

My biggest hurdle at the moment is comming up with, or finding a better solution to the discussion pages. I think they are terriable for communicating. I've emailed Tangler about possible replacing them with their system, but I'm not sure that can work out. Does anyone have any ideas on that?

    Thanks

I finally found a little extra time, and got to making all those changes that have been suggested. Still needs some tweaking, but I think it's more in line with expectations. Please let me know what you think. In the mean time, I will work on a more polished version. Thanks.
